Yeah I think this is a lifestyle changing career field. That’s the biggest reason among many that I’m going into it. I’ve seen mariner RUclipsrs who hate everything but the money and all their complaints besides the occasional racism sounds like pluses to me. I feel like I could deploy for a year at a time n be happy lol but I’ll find out for myself soon. This RUclipsr n I have similar vibes n she’s been smiling since piney point 🤣

@@chrishenderson7601 My exact same sentiments bro. That’s why I’m going to SIU. I’m going to the apprenticeship school this July. I can’t wait to start the journey. Hopefully we cross paths fam. This career for me personally will give me the time, money, flexibility, to do what I need to do. I’m in my late 20’s approaching 30 soon lol. If I knew of this career path since High School I would have gone in immediately

@@chrishenderson7601 Hindsight is 20/20 fam. Good thing is it’s never too late so we started off the right path. Word of advice. If you get to the coast guard physical part. If they ask you if you have any medical issues (allergies, disabilities, etc) just say no. If you say yes- They will make you jump through hoops to get documentation from your doctor or other specialist doctors. It will take month or more to get the wavier or other forms you need. I also heard that classes are booked from July of this year until February 2025. If you get started with the process there might be a chance someone drop out the program for you to take the slot. Definitely hope to cross paths you with G lol.

Hey I'm really enjoying the videos you're dropping. I am in maritime academy right now about to get my AB endorsement in June. I have not yet picked a company for my internship that's coming up. I really want to go deep sea but can't decide if I want to go to UNOLS/NOAA or the SIU route. How do you like go from ship to ship so far? Getting new crew members every time/learning a new ship every time etc...
