great session! fishing on bfs setup is pure fun. it gets very popular here in russia. i usually use 0.5-3g cw slow action rod, 2lb fluo, 1-2" lure on 0.6g jighead. with such setup you can enjoy even 100-200g perch) for the first time see you are using rod from Ali. i've got one from Ali - Ace Hawk AG Voyager. It's 4sections travel rod. I didn't expect such great quality for this price.
I got the same rod!!! I think this is the best ultralight BFS rod for the money. I am super impressed. I shot a 2 part review video and I was more excited about this rod than I was about the G Loomis Conquest!!! Sweet video and those perch are MASSIVE

I am trying to get into BFS, I think I know which reel I should consider but which rod would you recommend? I have seen you're familiar with the tsurinoya and kuying products. Not a huge amount of places up here in Aberdeen that have Perch but I know of a few. I was going to ask you if a 150 sized reel would be ok for Pike but this video pretty much answered that haha. I've looked into what reel I should get and I keep coming back to the Shimano Casitas "for the money". I've not really picked out a rod yet, I'm not looking to throw huge lures. I'll probably get something 10-30g med/heavy with a fast action. Not 100% sure what length tho... 7'? Thx Dod.
If you want to target mostly perch and the occassional pike on smallish lures/shads , nomura do a 7ft baitcasting rod for about 50 quid that won't break the bank. Glasgow/edinburgh Angling store sells em.

If you want something a little heavier for pike , try the ugly stik rods by shakespeare. Again not too expensive at around 30 quid, the Medium or ML version is a little heavier and can handle bigger lures. I can only speak from experience because I happen to have those two in particular and being in Scotland myself I spent a fair amount of time looking for something suitable for Pike and perch. They also make good rods for the sea fishing (from a boat or kayak).
Great fish on light tackle, are u wearing a fly vest for ur lures? I have one similar from when I used to fly fish, I've got the one with the rucksack on the back 👍
is that nanofil line easy to use for starters to bfs fishing on a baitcaster ? iv got g-soul 14 pound wich is only 0.6mm thick and iv had really bad backlash few times and had to cut that expensive braid of spool
I bought one of those rods from AliExpress and I really don’t see the point of it, as rated at 1 - 6 gram casting weight. Anything under 7 grams and I’m struggling to cast it with a baitcasting reel. A 7 gram casting weight gives no finesse on this rod, when twitching the lure along the bottom, as the lure is too heavy. As for Nanofil, its total pants, don’t waste your money, I had a crack off with a 7 gram lure! On the plus side, I do like those Z-Man Finesse Shadz, great lure 👍🏻

For starter FC / Mono 0.16mm is better
