    Good list man. I've been carrying a rat 2 for close to 4 years and it's been a kick-ass daily driver. I've briefly EDC'd higher end production stuff, I had a PM2 and a 940, but after losing the pm2 and being too scared to really use them, I stuck with the rat for utility and financial integrity. It's served me well, I've gotten a couple extra, and a few for friends that were looking to get into knives and they loved em.

      It’s a great dependable knife. Highly efficient and a great value. So much to like about and very little to dislike. Also, I’m happy to hear you got a few friends some knives. It’s great to get people to appreciate the knife hobby.

    Not surprised to see 4 Benchmade knives in your top 10 EDC list😎 But I am surprised to see no Spyderco😲
    Going by what I have my list would be as follows:
    1. WE Knife Bishop
    2. Benchmade 940
    3. Benchmade Mini Freek
    4. Spyderco Sage 5LW
    5. Kizer Shoal (small version)
    6. WE Knife Rectifier
    7. Spyderco Native 5LW
    8. Kizer Vanguard V3 Vigor
    9. Kizer Vanguard Kesmec
    10. Spyderco Manix 2LW
    Honorable mentions go to the Kizer Vanguard Bad Dog, which by the looks and the action is more awesome than most of the afore mentioned, but it's just so pretty that I dare'nt really use it, I just adore it 😯
    What might change up my list is if I'd have a Fox Knives TUR, a Lionsteel TRE, a Kizer T1 or certainly a TRM Neutron😥 Also I would really, really like to have a Spyderco Slysz Bowie and a Domino ... but yeah ... I guess I'll always be a dreamer😏

    Late comer but shaman vs PM2 I think they are equivalent both great but slightly different target. The shaman is heavy duty with slightly better around the girth smoothness and it is a front flipper but the PM2 is a light heavy duty knife. The shaman fails the fork tine test-cutting between the tines of a standard fork, the PM2 at least partly allows cutting intra tine. In truth a sage or delica is better at this but that adds a whole new knife.

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  3 года назад

      I like the workhorse type of knife which is why I like the shaman so much. I also like larger knives for the most part. I do agree with much of what you said but I still prefer the shaman over all of those options.

    I really enjoy top 10 videos. You score 8 out of 10 right on track with my top 10. I'm just not a Hinderer/ZT fan. If we could replace those with your Shiro 95NL and a Koenig Arius that would be my top 10 but I respect you leaving them off for reasons you mentioned.

    • @TripleEEDC

    Great list! Nice mix of price ranges. I prefer 7 inch knives. I'm glad you included the 943s which I now own and like it better than my five 940's. I also prefer the Inkosi to the Sebenza.

    You didn’t count the Shiragorav or the Specter because most people couldn’t get yet you have the Socom Elite and TRM Atom which have been out of stock everywhere since they were released. I have been trying to get a hold of both of them for a while now and they are always sold out. I won’t pay the triple mark up that scabs on eBay want for these knives either. You also have a ZT 0392 which is not available anymore and is going for ridiculous prices on eBay when they are for sale

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  3 года назад

      I definitely see your point but all of the knives you described are generally more accessible than shiros and specters. Shiros have become more available since this video was made so the prices on the secondary have become more reasonable and have moved shiros closer to my top 10. Specters are ridiculously overpriced on the secondary market and you can’t get them otherwise unless you win a lottery. Socom elites are constantly dropping at dealers all the time, so I disagree that they are not available. If you sign up for notifications from any dealer you should be able to score one, plus the secondary prices aren’t bad. The atom is much the same with drops. If you pay attention to drop times you should be able to get one. Even if you don’t, secondary prices aren’t bad like the skaha. I do agree that the 0392s are discontinued, but this is an all-time list and they pop up on the secondary market all the time. They are a little overpriced, but are a similar build quality to actual hinderer knives and therefore I don’t think $400-500 is unreasonable for them, especially since they are collector’s items they don’t tend to lose value. Also, as a general threshold, I think $500 is probably the upper limit for a list like this in order to be fair to production companies in general.

    The Pm2 and the Shamen should both be included because the Shamen weighs 5.2 ounches or 1.3 ounces heavier than the PM2. My personal folding knife weight limit is 4 ounches.
    This may sound strange but my EDC knife I use the most is the Spyderco UK penknife which has the same profile as the Spyderco Caley and with the thin blade stock of the new CTS-BD1N steel it holds a edge almost as long as S30V and strops to a scapel sharpness easily. The Pm2 and Bugout are my other main EDc knives.
    Excellent choice in knives but I would like to see a budget top 10 EDC knives at 150.00 and less.

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  4 года назад

      I did think long and hard about putting the PM3 separately on this list since it's not so far off from the Bugout and being lightweight. I also thought about the PM2 being such an icon. But in the end I felt like I needed to put the Shaman on since I already had some lightweight knives on here. If I would put the PM2 on, I would probably replace the Super Freek since it's not quite as iconic. It's interesting you carry the UKPK so much, although I carry a slipjoint often as well. I have another video where I go through my most carried knives of 2019 where I draw a distinction between best and most carried.

    • @barrylevitt1170
      @barrylevitt1170 4 года назад +1

      @@TripleEEDC Slipjoints other than Swiss Army knives are not high on my priority list because of safety reasons. The Uk penknife with the front finger choil prevents accidental blade closing and the ergos are pretty close to the Sage 5. The Uk penknife provides a much more secure grip than the Bugout and the new CTS-BD1N holds a nice edge and strops to a scapel sharpness. Realistically,in most EDC tasks a lock is not needed on the knife. Thanks for your reply.

    What do you use for a sharpener on your EDC??

    • @TripleEEDC
      @TripleEEDC  4 года назад +1

      For long-term sharpening I use a Wicked Edge Go. For touch ups I use a series of strops I got in a knife trade. I also use a Benchmade Worksharp Edge Maintenance tool on the go as it’s easily storable in my go pack.
