Its not dishonest, it's a marketing scheme because it gets you to buy the kit thinking you get more for less. So even when your return thr free item. They still got you because you still paid . Now they can sell thay "free item"
If you tell them what you're doing and they're okay with the return, that's ok. But if you don't tell them, it's dishonest. You can "word salad" it all you want, but it's still dishonest.
