Great video. I’m about to buy a new 2023 FRX 20! Has Skeeter address the don’t likes of the boat. I wish all the the latches were the slam latches on all the compartments.
I've had nothing but Skeeters and love them. I don't have the water in rush problem as bad as you have but honestly, I've only known one or two boats to not have backwash if you just shut it down without throttle. HATE the Mega tubes!!!!! As bad as I hate to say it, if I end up with an R like I want to, I'll be cutting that fiberglass out as wide as possible. My biggest pet peeve since they changed the gas tank to behind the seats is that they started making the livewells one giant well with a divider. Can't stand having to have that much water and have it swishing around. I like the two individual wells mainly because if a pump goes bad, you have a second well with its own pump throughout the day. Plus you don't have to put 40-50 gallons in to keep the sloshing down in dual wells which adds so much more weight than needed. Love the front deck except they need to get away from the deep recess they use for the trash can area and fill that up with more deck/compartment space. Otherwise I think they hit it out of the park with that hull design going back similar to the iClass boats and the dual compartments for the battery compartments. I realize this video is older now but I'd love to see how you feel about it after fishing out of it more. Maybe you already have a video out for that and I'll check, but if not, it'd be awesome to see.
Hey man thanks for the comment. I now have a 2022 FXR21 Limited and love these boats. The mega tube hole in the 2022 got a little bigger, I don’t have an issue with water coming over the back as I throttle a little before it comes over, I do love having the trash can though...I am always using it. Just wish the floor was one level instead of it going up where the trash can is. Overall these boats are killer! Ready to see if there will any changes made for the 2023’s.
@@jessefloyd8224 100% agree. No need to have a step, to a step, to a step. Pull that deck back, have whatever step for the trash can you want, then straight to the floor level.
Devrone Johnson yeah instead of just setting it down you gotta give it a little gas right before that water comes over. My dad has a basscat that does the same thing.
The water splash is easily avoided by keeping your foot on it with 1/4 throttle. Just enough to keep the sponson ontop of the water. I learned that quick with my ZX200 lol. Definitely think the rod lockers should have carpet, at least on the bottom. Or I’m wondering if sea deck would be a good retrofit? Looks awesome, pretty slick ride!
Yes, since I made this video I haven’t had any splash back issues and have really learned how to drive this boat. The rod lockers do have sea deck on the bottom but the reels that hit the side walls would see damage without the carpet i put in there.
I have a prostaff deal through my local dealership that helps with the cost of the boat. After a year of use I can sell it for a little more than I paid for it and get a new one every year which helps promote my dealership everytime I talk about my new boat. My new one should be in any day. Gonna be another Skeeter 2022 FXR21
Thanks for your honesty sir but that’s what I experienced about the boat as well not so much of a biggie but Hope Skeeter can correct the rod box carpeting
@ 14:30 you talk about shutting the motor down and running to the front of your boat. That action you describe is a motor killer my friend. Let the motor idle at least 60 to 90 seconds prior to killing it. The hot water around the block absolutely has to cycle after a long hard run. Get in a hurry one too many times and big problems can arise. We're talking motor longevity here. Take care of her man.
Appreciate the warning but there isn’t a tournament fisherman alive that will waste 60-90 seconds of fishing time several times a day like that. I get what you’re saying though. Thanks for watching....I still love this boat btw!
your water splash problem can be fixed with a hydrofoil, there are some drill-less models (stringray) that would help your boat to sit a little slower. It worked for me, also better MPG and Holeshot.
I made this video after having it for about a week. Since then I’ve really learned how to drive it and have had zero complaints. My next boat will also be a Skeeter FXR21!
I know it's an older video... Did you figure out the REAL trick to avoid the supposed Skeeter Back Splash? If you just trim down before or while your taking your foot off the gas, it is easily avoided. Don't hydrofoil the new Skeeter, please!
Price tag is a big dislike, being a single purpose boat dislike Ok I am bias I own a multispecies Skeeter , but it is a beautiful boat. Placement of components is getting much better. Was that a block of wood in the battery compartment?
Comparing this boat to a Nitro is just a no contest. You're in a different zone vs a Nitro man. Nice boat. No disrespect...but Skeeter is on their game hard the last 3 or 4 years.
@@jessefloyd8224 I agree. She ran above 70 right of the bat. That’s why I wanted to know what model and pitch prop the dealer out on it. Sometimes different dealer put different props on them from what I have seen in the past.
Dave Shell so far 72.6 alone with no water in live wells. I have my first team tournament with it this weekend so we’ll see what it will run with that load. Upper 60’s I’m sure.
Haha...not hardly. Just not comfortable talking to a camera. It’s hard to be outgoing alone in my garage talking to a GoPro. Either way, thanks for watching and I still love this boat! I’ll work on my camera communication skills lol.
Haha no worries brotha, I’d prob be doing the same thing, I could see how talkin to camera might be kinda awkward at first, just keep practicing an honing the skill an you’ll do just fine, very nice boat as well! Dream setup for me, can’t wait til I can get a rig like that !!

How much you pay for your fxr?
Yes sir...I love it too and my next one will be a skeeter!

My boat does this too but I just come off pad a little slower and the boat just sink's into it's resting position with no splash
trim down when your slowing down works
DrJ yeah you gotta trim down to avoid porpoising as well while slowing.
Glad you like it sir, your very blessed to have a nice boat like that, hope you catch the biggest bass of your life.
Love the remote drain plug. I've slammed my head too many times on the motor or Power pole mounts.

It’s just a preference thing...some guys hate carpet but I’d rather more protection for my equipment. I really love this boat though!
Nitro Z-71 lol 4x4 model?
Need to add The Step Assistant Handle by Bass Boat Concepts!!
Man I haven't heard of a Nitro Z71. Lol 🤣🤣 hey it happens great video. 👍
I said that??? 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I had no idea....
Jesse: Are you having trouble with the boat porpoising at low speeds? Or, trouble keeping the nose down in rough waters?
Neither
@@jessefloyd8224 Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.
Great video and nice boat! Nice to hear you talk in a video as well😀
Urban Redneck Outdoors not much of a talker and I hated every minute of making this video 🤣
Uh oh someone got a deal looks like. Congrats Jessie. I’ve actually been looking at the new R myself
chance huiet thanks! Can’t go wrong...hell of a boat!
Grab some seadek for the inside of your rod locker. Looks good and protects also.
That motor is very load compared to my 2021 Nitro Z19 with a V-8 Mercury. But a very nice boat
