I bought Gargoyles 1 over a decade ago out of a .50 bin.
Batman A Death in the Family should be in any collector's key comics collection.
I've been collecting comics off and on for around 40 years. I say that so I can say this. ComicTom... I love your trio team podcast. You have a great show. Great personalitys. It's like Wizard on upgrade.
I think it might be interesting to see an animated series done with skottie young's style

I still have my original copies of A Death in the Family story. But I was 12 in 1989 and too cool to get that involved and call to vote. Plus, my mom wouldn’t let me call a 900 number.

Love the news about Gargoyles. That was definitely a fave of mine as a kid.
Surprised about Bloodstrike making the top 10! A friend of mine from the church I once belonged to bought me a box of comics he found at a yard sale and gave them to me. I sold some but kept the rest, bagged and boarded. I have Bloodstrike #1, I'm curious to see how it goes up in value after this announcement. Most of the time I own the facsimile of the books listed. 😆 Love the channel, at 49 I'm a bigger geek now than when I was a kid. Learning so much about how things have changed from when I was collecting the most.
Are you kidding me with Bloodstrike? You can still find them a plenty in dollar boxes.

And Marvel/Star comic in high grade is worth the investment. Those books were marketed towards kids and many didnt survive. I'd say any grade above a 9.0 is worth picking up, especially the newsstands. Those Marvel 25th anniversary covers are also tough to locate in high grade.

Amazing. I have this Bloodstrike #1 book (and it's pristine). During the time I was selling some books on eBay, I couldn't get this book sold even at a .99 cent starting price!! Well, I still have a credit for $82 at CGC. Time to get this bad boy slabbed. Who'd a thought? Thank you Comic Tom.

Don't miss out on Blowtorch Bad Roads #1.. in stores 11-1-23.. reviews calling one of the best reads.. incredible artwork. Should of been added to your list.
#3 the Rocketeer movie was solid....hopefully Disney+ does it justice

Back in mid to late 80’s, I worked at a comic shop part time and remember hating when DC changed Jason Todd’s origin from nice guy acrobat to moody tire thief. Barely a year and a half later, they decided to kill him off with the phone call stunt, because fans hated the brat. While I didn’t like the retcon, I was appalled at the fact that DC was going to let blood thirsty fans kill Robin- even a crappy jerk-face Robin. I remember calling the number to save him at least 40 times -maybe 50 (and at 50 cents a call, my folks were not pleased when that phone bill came!). So I’m as guilty as anyone for trying to stuff the Balet Box!!
Side Note: Batman 426-429 were the first comics I ever speculated on (pre-ordered 10 copies of each). I made a killing off them, which launched my journey as a part time comics dealer!

Yeah, Scotty Young art work , looks like a teeny bopper drew comuc characters, it looks like a childish character of the character, not a good likeness if Spider-Man or Wolverine.

This isn't ahead of its time... these kind of writings have been around for decades in the pulp sci fi realm...i.e. 1950s-1980s. Rhe real nerds have known this style for awhile its just now that more people are starting rediscover some of great stories from yesteryear
