Bear in mind, this is Perth and back in the 80s and 90s, it was globally recognised as the fastest and bounciest of cricket pitches anywhere around the world. And Sachin scored a century on that pitch when he was just 18!
    Genius. Maverick. Legend.

Out of 240 he made 114 and the rest of the team made 126. He was really a one man army. If it wasn't for Sachin, India's record would have been waaaaaay worse than it is now in both tests and ODI. What a champion 🏆

Its so satisfying to see that, he was praised for being a very talented batsman, he made good on his talent. He actually justified the trust and belief of all the commentators, who were good batsmen themselves. There are a lot of cricketers or for that matter other sportsmen who showed a lot of promise but just faded away. Didnt go the distance which they could have. So satisfying. Great job Sachin.
Many will break his record but he is a GOAT to me as long as I live.

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is just an emotion which helped the total indian society to gain confidence, taught us to fight our own battle without any excuses, helped to regain the winning attitude to a team who was wayward. Thank you sir for your help which was very useful on 90's to build a nation!!!!

People in Pakistan during this ODI world cup are talking about how many of our players have never played in India and how will they adjust to alien conditions. Mind you this is ODI cricket with not to many close catchers. Now come to Sachin and how a great and professional player adjusted to foreign conditions that also Australia on his first tour there. That alone shows whatcha legendary player he was. That young and that good just unbelievable. Only player from 1970 to present who was so good was Javed Miandad but he was not as young as Sachin but he was also a prodigy when he burst on the scene at a young age. But he got a great start to his carear by getting series at home not like Sachin who was thrown into the international stage first by touring Pakistan and then playing away series in Australia and England before he turned 20!! Now that is greatness which can never be taken away from him even if all his records are broken. From a die hard fan in Pakistan.

Years later, when Tendulkar was going through (by his standards) a lean patch, some English/Australian commentator made some rather unflattering comments on his batting technique. Ian Chappell who was co-commentating said "Mate, this bloke was just 19 when he scored a hundred at Perth. You are not allowed to score hundreds at Perth!"
Tendulkar often said that he held Richards and Gavaskar as his idols. I like to think that the Richards in him dominated his personality till about 1999 WC. Thereon Gavaskar came into prominence and he became as calculating, and played percentages. From time to time, Gavaskar took the backseat, and Richards chimed in, like The 2003 WC match vs. Pakistan.
