Saints row. The community has been saying for years they want the return to basics like saints row 2 and to an extent saints row 3. But they completely missed the mark and now the series is essentially going to be lost to time
Viva Pinata was a great game that was made by POST-Microsoft Rare. It got a lackluster sequel, and was then abandoned, never to be heard from again. Sigh. (BTW, I'll usually defend Banjo-Kazooie N&B. It wasn't the game we wanted, but it was still a cool, original idea.)
Microsoft did make Perfect Dark Zero as a launch title for Xbox 360. Even though it wasn't that great of game, it was at least an exciting and logical use of Rare's IP at the time. We've also been waiting for this rumored Perfect Dark sequel for 20 years, so who knows at this point.
Granted the last breath of fire game didn’t sold well (not the mobile app) so I can see the hesitation, but I heard their hinting an interest of it (a little bit)
Tbh I heard that the reason why mother 3 didn’t translate it due to touchy subject in it and the original creator of mother doesn’t want to make another one
We should stop getting fixed to franchises. Let every story be a one-time story and let it go. Wait for new stories. This ways corporations won't be able to hold anyone hostage. People just won't care. Cause this whole situation is set to failure and frustration.
the older franchises are why the companies are so well known in the first place. I couldn't care less about the latest shooter or AAA game. Indiana Jones was great in terms of story and cinematics, but the gameplay was the same as all the other AAA games. It should have been a movie like the Spider-Man games. If the games are only good because of the story, make them movies instead. Don't bother making the same game over and over and over.
What I find the most frustrating is the outright lack of gaming preservation. They're all to blame, though Nintendo is by far the worst offender. Not only because they don't keep a consistent digital back catalog, but they also actively go out of their way to make sure nobody else can do it for them, for free, either. Thousands of games are held hostage with no legitimate way to purchase them from first party providers. Entire digital gaming ecosystems are wiped away, their exclusive games never to see the light of day again. Ps3, Vita, 360, Wii, Wii U, 3DS shops and more, gone. Most older games, can't digitally purchase anywhere. I would happily purchase any game rather than pirate it. We have the manpower and technology to begin truly rolling these old properties out again for purchase. Instead of spending hundreds of millions on overbloated games, dust the old stuff off and make it available again, people will be rolling in it for years. They're sitting on a damned gold mine. It's infuriating. You can have my money, it's right here. Just give me the old product again and always until society collapses. Nostalgia sells.
Donkey Kong, Streets of Rage was in this spot but 4 saved it. A new Crash Racer would be cool. Would also love to see a sequel to the Transformers games on ps3
Anything not sonic from sega. Especially the shining force series, most if which either we never got or are literally impossible to play without emulations.
So many publishers buy amazing studios just to shut them down. Duelyst is a fantastic game that BandaiNamco bought and shut down servers shortly after. Or Ubisoft will never make another Mirror's Edge because the last one didn't sell millions. Countless examples like that. EA is probably the worst offender, but they're absolutely not the only one! End up getting people making the same series under a different name like Bloodstained and Castlevania cuz Konami sucks so hard. Seems so backwards.
I think the main producer of this series said in an interview that they have no new ideas for a new game and they don't want to recycle which is fine but the last game released 20 years ago even a copy of gx would be new

Microsoft doesn't care about ips, they just don't want their competitors to have them.

And the gameplay for the latest game really sucked

Look at banjo kazooie, Microsoft claimed nobody cared about the series

Instead, companies rather sell the same old games as a collection for AAA price. Such a scam.
So guys, what's your favorite game series that publishers refuse to do anything with?
Socom, I deeply miss it.
Donkey Kong, Streets of Rage was in this spot but 4 saved it.
A new Crash Racer would be cool.
Would also love to see a sequel to the Transformers games on ps3
Castlevania, the last good one released was order of ecclesia back in 2008
I really miss fallout that isn’t 76! We need Mario sluggers to return as well. The FEAR series should come back too!

We need a new f zero so bad can’t believe Nintendo didn’t return to the series
