This is how my groomer takes care of my senior Newf. Comfort grooming...what he can do, she does. What he can't she doesn't. I'm so grateful she takes good care of my sweet boy. She always apologizes that he's not perfectly groomed, but in my eyes he always is! Therefore, my tip reflects my gratitude.
@@dogcrazy25 And my 7 lb Chihuahua is going on 8 and is technically a senior dog. But you wouldn't know it. The vet says his heart, lungs, and teeth are good, and he doesn't have arthritis. So far. I do watch his weight pretty carefully.
I'm glad you detailed the amount of work involved and how the grooming fee breaks down. You mentioned a cut goes to the business owner but remind people that's not all profit. It covers the cost of 5 doses of shampoo, conditioner, insurance etc..
Also utility bills. I'd guess her water bill and her electricity bill are substantial. I mean, heating all that water. Although maybe she has a gas hot water heater. And running dryers. And washing towels. Also rent for her shop - I assume she rents - and loan payments (again assuming) for equipment. As you say, etc.

Yes!!! It amazes me how much people complain about the price of grooming. Even small dogs seem like they would be difficult and time consuming. Hats off to the groomers out there. 😊
I finally found a kindred soul! I too am a senior who is only comfortable laying on one side and do not pee in the grass. I, however, am not so compliant as any Newfie. Enjoyed the vid, thanks!

That expression on his face in the shower was precious. What a great dog. Thank you for explaining the truths about grooming dogs of all breeds. It's very helpful for people like me thinking about getting a dog. I love your videos. I've been watching them from the beginning of your journey. They get better and better every year!!

Would just like to say I have a great pyr mix pup with hair like this and nasty critter and fluff off have made such a huge difference in her coat!! She gets lots of compliments🥰
@@Yesica1993 It's not disgusting. Drool and other body fluids are part of what it means to be a pet owner. If you can't deal with such things, you shouldn't own a pet.
@@Yesica1993 There's a thing called "cleaning" if that's too much for you, stick with the stuffed animals lol. No place is automatically filthy because of an animal that resides there; that's just how the place is looked after.
It's also cause while they're usually extremely nice tolerant dogs they're also extremely stubborn. If Newf plops down and doesn't want to move then you're SOL until he/she decides to move.
Vanessa chase is literally bigger than you. I love the way he kept rolling his eyes looking up at you like, good grieve lady ! Enough is enough ! Lol. Such a sweet, gentle giant ! Beautiful
What a super dog. Even when he was uncomfortable he just cooperated as best he could. He looked fab at the end. I am sure his owner was delighted. (My back aches just watching) 👏
He looks (and probably feels) so much better after the groom. Thanks for demonstrating patience and kindness to a large older dog. You climb a mountain one step at a time and you can groom a large dog one part at a time. My Great Pyr: one day I comb out the chin and bib, next day arm pits and belly, another day under the tail and his tail, etc. until I get all around the dog. Getting combed out and cleaned up seems to feel good to him. Thanks again.
It's like hearing from a person who makes $700.00 per hour, telling a person who makes $25.00 an hour, to go tell a person who makes $7.50 an hour, dogs are important too, and thank you for remaining teachable! Thanks Chase for sharing!
You are such a wonderful person to take on these giant challenges. I pray you'll stay healthy and limber for and not suffer from the aches and pains of growing old when you get there, even though that's many years away for you.

Its amazing to be a senior dog at 9, my current dog is under 50lbs and is now senior at 13.

I am most impressed-of all the things she does-with the sureness and ease with which she clips the nails.
Part of me thinks her clipper blades must be carved out of diamonds, no matter how gnarly those claws look she just clips right through them

Life expectancy is typically 8 -10 years. Great Danes 7-10 years.
