My nephew caught a chain on the chin. No beard.
After they filled in a few gaps in his jaw with some bone from his hip, and a few fake teeth, he now always wears a safety beard. But I believe the intent is mostly cosmetic.

A mate of mine was working next to a tensioned winch wire. It was running across the deck at a height of about 3 inches. The wire gave way and the resulting whip back smashed both his ankles. Took him a long time to walk again. So when I see foolish people standing next to tensioned chains or wires, it grates. They have no concept of what they are dealing with. I loved the film, it was brilliant. Great to see Adam and friend repairing the Chieftains over there.

At risk of being uber-nerdy, it should be pointed out that despite the popular belief the UP 4-8-8-4 "Big Boys" were not the largest steam locomotives ever built, no matter how you measure them. They were not the heaviest, nor the longest, nor the most powerful, but they were undoubtedly very big and very wonderful. It is however said that theoretically a Big Boy's boiler would fit inside the boiler of an C&O or Virginian Allegheny 2-6-6-6. It is absolutely true however the Big Boy 4014 is the largest, heaviest and most powerful operational steam locomotive in the world.
Another great video, perfect blend of fun, fact and humour. Keep up the good work!

  • @johnnyrvf

Union Pacific restored a Big Boy and it's up and running and does regular trips for the public. There were 24 built and the one running is # 4014 which was the best one left in preservation, situated in a railway museum in California. Work started in 2013 and took around 6 years to complete. Apparently there are 8 out of the 24 left and another Big Boy restoration is being considered.

@@wideyxyz2271 you said it! I have a wall full of battle rifles and about 60 HO Scale DCC locomotives (most are sound equipped and lots of steam engines) along with highly detailed rolling stock but I buy it on the cheap when I can find things at a good price or second hand on eBay, train shows or from our train club sales. I’ve owned and restored a LOT of MV’s since 93 and I can’t do that hobby any longer due to injuries from my 26 years in the Army having more of an impact now that I’m nearly 59. I actually owned and restored 4 M-561 Gama Goats, for some reason I came across some excellent deals in 94 then in 98. I’ve done some amazing things in my time with people I know but I never got into owning armored vehicles, mainly because I moved a lot and it’s not so easy moving those beasts, I did come close when a Bren Gun Carrier came up for sale for $3,500 and it had an engine from a Pinto and an automatic transmission but after a lot of thinking and test drives, I passed, I think David Wang got it along with the Dingo armored car that was for $5,000. The ones I liked the most was the M-151A2 and M-1009 and I used to drive them to work now and then while I was a Recruiter.

For a place with no NHS and a three hour if lucky drive to the nearest hospital predominately off road on dirt roads, the approach to health and safety could be sketchy at best, add in lots of guns, it was was quite a cultural shock, that trip was a pivotal moment in my life, I still remember those days and will never forget those few weeks.

Always, when I travel to somewhere new, people ask, "What was the most impressive thing you witnessed on your trip?" The answer is always: "The aeroplane that got me there and back again".

Yo! I loved it, Adam liked playing with the guns, you will have to get him a imitation sidearm and cowboy hat for when he works on the tanks back here in the UK.

What surprises me about the chieftain is that the British army went with 120 mm gun while a lot of other western countries back in those early days mainly used 105 mm as their main gun the chieftain certainly had advantage in fire power

We made the 105mm L7, then went one better...

I love everything about this video, from the choice of Ray Charles for BGM, to the tank and train content, to the fact they rented the same car I own down to the color.

Bloody awesome video along with the most British narration. Mr Hewes International. I'm disappointed that Mr Best didn't enter the aircraft in his trademark German overalls

Hope you really enjoyed the staying there 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇱🇷🇱🇷
