Perfect. Professional decision.
Fiecare are problemele ei.
Good video and for sure, the best solution (better than remove them). I own a car with this engine. Where can I find this kit? Almost all in the internet is for removing them...
How BMW SHOULD have designed these from the get go! But they failed with the early plastic units and failed again with the metal ones... That being said, what's the orange looking grease you used? Is that cupper based vaseline? Why using that on plastic and rubber parts? I thought it was suited for hard surfaces, metal on metal. Just curious...
Do you have the experience with these flaps failing? I found mine before replacing in pristine condition. I think is a bit of an overreacting overall. I don't think people should be that scared about these failing that often. My examination concluded that are quite well built. At least mine where. Repacing them I had to remove the rivets from the installed ones to take them out and was not that easy. I don't think there are so much stress placed on them to fail that easy. Anyways...to answer your question is copper grease that is made for high temperature. The same used for injectors.
Hello ! Just found your video. Mine should be in good condition but I plan on removing the intake just to see if they have started to go bad. And since I would be doing this job why not upgrade to these. Do you still own the car ? How many km since you did the job and everything is still fine ?
I have the car and still going on. I have not been driving much lately. I changed mine on 100k miles and the original where perfect. Not sure it is a problem with my model but I did it like you said to be sure since the plan was to clean everything.
These are the informations back then. You will need to research. I think these where the new flaps manufacturer. They have on their website the description from the end of the video. There will be a good starting point. In the video the invoice frame is sowing the website.
Only if they are not the original ones. For this you need to get in. In my case since i wanted to do a cleaning i addressed multiple things at once. Thanks for reaching out with your question.
Maybe is late my reply but...is copper heat-resistant grease used for injectors and stuff under heat. I decided to grease everything with it since heat is present. It was my choice without any recommendation. I hope this answers your question.

@@FlyHighWavesSounds why did you grease the screws as well tho ?

copper paste against aluminium :0
For the heat resistance. Freestyle choice.
Metal rubbing on cheap plastic 😂
They really didn't care when they designed these engines.
