The Miseducation of Lauren Hill. The whole album is great from start to finish, I grabbed it right when it first came out. Shows you how old I am, but I'm glad I was born when I was born and got to experience the world before the Internet and cellphones as great as those things may be in their way, the world just seemed more... eh, idk, real, I guess? Like this music.
EXACTLY, me too. I remember the music store where I bought it .. yes, we used to buy physical CDs from a store 😊 And that album changed my musical life completely
Well yes, I agree, I look back on 1999 fondly. But there were plenty of mobile phones in that year and in what way is there no ‘freedom of speech’ today? And I don’t see the lockdown as a bad thing, it served a purpose and I found it a positive experience: not having to socialise, quiet streets, not having to work (for some people).

Lockdowns were a product of the Chinese Communist party which was copied and imposed on to Western so called liberal democracies and are not without collateral damage, with them pushing millions more people in to extreme poverty - UN, and creating a 10 year backlog for routine NHS treatment. As well as the huge increase in people passing away at home and suicides. There is no evidence that Lockdowns saved a single life, but the evidence of their harms to our heath and civil liberties is mounting on a daily basis.

@@disarmsox That's fine my friend. Looks like we have come to some different conclusions about the world. Try to stay away from that social media you dislike, it looks like it may have given you pretty wacko opinions already.

What an artist fr. Insanely talented. Absolutely beautiful too. Also that ending was pretty funny. Like why ain’t they get a translator 💀💀 she got a good laugh outta it tho so it’s fine.
Sábado 13 de julho 24 foi seu show em São Paulo/Brasil no Allianz Parque (estádio do Palmeira), qndo cantou essa música o estádio foi a baixo, foi maravilhoso, me arrepio toda, inesquecível. Obrigada @mslaurynHill 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

thought i was the only one to notice that ... and on the album a lot of famous jamaican artist too, from Nambo Robinson, to Dean Fraser passing by Earl China Smith, Julian Marley on the guitar too on one song
Wow never seen this performance. Lauryn Hill swag and stage presence are elite👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I don't think I have ever seen a bad performance from her. Love the way she transitions her songs. This is one hell of a performance and what makes it better is there are no theatrics. I don't mind theatrics every now and then, but sometimes it's seems more personal and better when there is the artist, band, the mic and the music. Thanks for the upload 👍🏾. Love the quality too 💯👌🏾.
@@modifidious Oh yes, at least 10 concerts, all off master tapes, direct from the filmers, but I really doubt I will upload them to YT, but never say never I guess.
I'm not sure if they are rushing her, or if she's rushing and they are trying to keep up. It's a recurring problem in her concerts, as if she had to prove a point by projecting a lot of energy at once, disregarding tempo. It's even more blatant in her recent appearances where she can only give it for so long and then the show is very short.
It’s not a song it was just an intro she used to incorporate at the beginning of doo wop. She did the same intro for the Billboard award performance as well.

That’s a lie.
Different times.. no social media.. no mobile phones... Freedom of speech.. no Lockdowns.. affordable housing.. what a time to be alive.

While the WHOLE performance is 🔥, the best part IMO is from about 2:59-3:20, you can clearly hear EVERYONE’s mic is ON!!

Thank you, thank you so much for this upload. 😭❤️
You're so welcome!
She was the hottest thing. If she would have kept it going and defeat those evils, she would have been the legend.

She is a legend with what she did with the Fugees and her 1 solo album, but yes she could’ve been a lot more prominent if she kept going

Lauryn didn’t need the extra mic on the right. She be just perfect on her own.
Reminded of Rip Rig + Panic.
❤
That hat reminds me of Legendary Bob Marley
L.Hill get sophisticated edge vocal on it this time there.
She sharpened her tamber that time. Maybe she seeking out da vibe of that audience.
Ok. And she didn’t need those backing singers either. She’s great.
Al Anderson on the guitar, was part of Bob Marley band in the best years
Welp, that's the hottest thing ever...
