I have plenty of RC cars because i am 60. Birthday is Jan.7 so 61 years old. Moral of the story i can wait for parts. 550 is a good price. I am a desert racer, rally and crawler fan plus monster trucks. This looks like a great vehicle.
I too like the desert racers and was weighing this vs the UDR but decided on the later given the holiday sales and all the aftermarket parts availability. I was concerned about the parts but looks like that’s been solved so I probably will end up getting a RH as well. Happy early birthday.
@azovandy14.88 Thank you! Yeah i will probably pick it up later. I have seen it in very few videos but it does land pretty soft. Seems to have good plush suspension. Plenty of power. Never owned a yikong but thier stuff looks pewtty good. Even on Aliexpress they are pretty expensive. This is a good deal as compared to the yikong branded. FMS pretty good on support.
A lot of reputable brands rebrand Yikong stuff, this makes my trust in their platforms grow. I've had an Absima (German brand) Sherpa 3.4 crawler/trail truck (rebranded Yikong 4102, I believe) and that thing has been solid for ~5 years. Lots of features, great value for money. I broke a steering link rod end because I bashed it into a hidden rock and I did grease the portals because they had little, other than that it's been charge, trail, crawl, light bash, clean, repeat. This one looks great, I hope they prove reliable as well!
I'll try one. It can't be worse than a UDR. Everyone claims to love the UDR but nobody wants to buy one. I never saw them sold out recently even marked down drastically. You can pick them up all day on marketplace for $300ish. I actually bought one with a destroyed body for $150 a few months back. It's a great scale running truck but crazy fragile. My SBR 2.0 is the same way but looks even better to me than my UDR. If this one is just slightly more durable but retains the drive then it'll be a winner.
I am happy that we can get some big scale vehicles. MK07, Fireteam, and now this. The body isnt sleek enough to grab me, its a bit blocky, but still looks like a great basher.
Id probably have bought one, if it didnt have a center differential. To do what its supposed to it really needs to have selectable lockers and a 2 speed transmission.
The battery tray looks better than the UDR. Besides it's fragility that's my biggest gripe about my UDR. At least with the SBR 2.0 being 8s i can put normal sizes of battery in it. Traxxass tried their best to make you use their batteries. It took me a while to find soft case 3s that would fit
I’ve been eyeing the Yikong for a long time, now I’m going to be forced to buy one. I don’t think anything will ever de-throne the UDR though. There’s nothing that handles like it
I thought this was pretty cool that they came out with this, but the price for me wasn't worth the squeeze. I already have a Losi Hammer Rey and don't know where one of these would fit in, at that price point.

i drove this thing 50 times true rocky terrain mud water snow dust , trnasmission is totaly bullet proof

yeah nice from fms to rebrand the YIKONG TB7
Use some jb weld to lock the rear diff. Makes it tip over way less. Also bend the rear sway bars inward and that will help them not catch. Great truck
