- My 1996 Honda Magna restoration is complete. The paint is UREKEM Jet black base coat with their matte clear, it sprayed great. Pipes are Cobra turn outs, which have been discontinued. The rear fender is the stocker modified to sit lower, with a sort of "bobbed" look. Enjoy

I seen a lot of Magnas customized and done all sorts of ways. and this without a doubt #1 Class Job. And you didn't over do it. A very clean and simple look. Ultimate GREAT WORK!
The first time I saw a Magna, I fell in love. I've got my eyes set on a 99 model. The owner says the carbs were cleaned, but it won't start. I love the bike so much, I'm inclined to buy it anyway.
Thanks you sir, there has been alot of great feedback on this bike. I certainly enjoy riding it, but the real pleasure comes from knowing I built it too.
That is a seriously beautiful bike! Love my '97 Magna...
Dude I love your Bike, Just landed a 95 Magna and thinking of turning it into a project like yours, very well done, what detail. great job.
Bill
A very nice bike. You did a great job.
My first bike was Magna. Awesome machine and this bobbed version is very tastefully done. Great!
It's awesome to see this bike still gets so much positive attention. Thanks!
Magnas without the passenger seat are just Badass!! I have a red 95 magna beast. Nice bike
Just bought a 97 all stock. Looking to do something similar with mine. This is the nicest Bobber style I've seen. Love the paint. These bikes are soooo fun to ride. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Gorgeous.
First, I'm glad you found the video and like the bike. The Magna was a blast to ride.
I had a set of stock wheels that were quite corroded, I had them sand blasted, then I shot them with Limco Supreme basecoat/clearcoat. Its a Nissan color I don't remember the code but it's from 2nd gen Altimas, it's called polished pewter. I wasn't sure about it when I shot it because it has TONS of flake, but when it was finished...well you see them. Cleanup was a breeze too, like clearcoat car wheels.
You did one hell of a job! I check this video, every time i think of what magna can look like✌️👍👌
the best looking Honda I have ever seen ..Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the positive comments. The Magna is a great platform to start with, its a shame most of the aftermarket has discontinued support. Oh well, we'll just have to make stuff for other bikes fit.
Great restoration, I love the paint job!
It's a good choice for a fun rider, and much quicker than most of the twins out there. Keep it shiny side up.
Although I appreciate the offer, the bike was sold about 5 months ago to a lucky guy here in Florida. Glad you like the bike, it was a blast to ride.
I had just under $1600 in the whole project. I got the bike as a non-runner, almost free. Then I got a parts bike in the same state, It had all the aftermarket goodies.
I can't remember the last time I paid for labor.
I have a "94 all stock but your bike looks amazing...really great job, nothing over the top, just a bad-ass looking bike. Good work.
Simply beautiful! Amazing job you did!
Thanks! Wish I still had it.
the bike looks great, i have one just like it, a yellow. we here in Trinidad like our bikes.
Love the magna bobber....sweet
Damn man thats a nice ride! İ bought one too will be here in about 10 days...cant wait!
one of the best magna's i've seen. i love the look of the rear fender. i would love a little of instruction on how to do that to mine
Thanks, I appreciate that. I put Progressive lowering springs on both ends, I used the lowering Heavy Duty unit they list, I believe it lowered the bike 1.5" it's subtle, but next to a stock Magna you can tell. The ride quality is also much improved. No trouble with bottoming out. The rear fender did turn out nice and added a good look to the bike, but it was kind of a pain, lots of fiberglass resin and matting to cover all the old holes. Lower the fender how you want it then drill new mount holes, and cut the back to suit. Unfortunately, with the fender so close to the tire, there is no way to reinstall all the bracing underneath, so no more 2 up riding.
FRIGGIN SWEETEST MAGNA I HAVE SEEN!
Hey I appreciate the good word. I'm not sure about the front signal, the parts bike had some Kuryakyn and Ness goodies, so maybe one of those. The front signal had a recessed bolt that I installed through a hole in the lower tree, rear signals (Cycle Gear Store) mounted right through the fender. Good luck with your bike.
Thanks for the response ed!
THAT is a great looking bike!
Pipes look good on there.
Thanks for looking. Unfortunately I have no info on the seat, it came on a parts bike that I found. Tough to recall, but I don't think I moved any stock wiring.
Thanks very much for the kind words..
They are very nice pieces from Jardine, although they are still available they will set you back around $700.00. Fantastic quality, very solid and well built. They come in chrome only. I painted mine.
Thanks for the kind words. The pipes are from Cobra, unfortunately they have been discontinued. Cobra does still offers their " Boulevard Slash Cut" pipes, which sound just the same as these but look closer to stock styling. At around $350 for the set, they are the least expensive aftermarket pipes available for this bike. Check eBay, I see used sets pop up all the time. Good Luck

great looking bike, all it needs is a custom paint job to get to the next level of baddass.
@nacorecondo

beautiful bike, but one question; how did you lower the bike and what exactly did you do to the rear fender?
very nice bike ;-)
Keep it running
Greetings from Holland
Looks great!
Thanks for looking. Unfortunately I have no info on the seat, it came on a parts bike that I found. As for the passenger seat mount hole, I used fiberglass matting underneath then smoothed up top with body filler. There are also 2 large indentations on the factory fender, I filled those with epoxy, sandedthen body filler.
I got here through your listing, god I want it. wont get my 3 K till the first. Good luck selling it, sure hate seeing oportunity slip by.
Thanks for looking. Unfortunately I have no info on the seat, it came on a parts bike that I found.
What a beauty!!
I have a 94 in great condition BLACK. Weird bike the magna... it's attractive from some angles and not so much other angles. I've also done some minor changes to mine. Love yours. It is most certainly fun to ride. I keep wanting to get rid of mine and try something else but can't seem to let it go.
Hey man beautiful work. Where did you get the rear signals and the brake light and plate holder?
That satin black paint looks good. Seen many effed up spray can looking jobs..
where did you get the peg set ups from I have a 98 magna 750 nice bike man
where did you get the rear fender?
멋진 바이크이다.나에게도 오래된 바이크가 하나 있다.
Goodjob🤺
Love it... I want one
what a beauty
@69moparfan Uber clean bike. I would have bobbed it l, but kept the suspension because I am not hard enough for hardtail. Good job!
Thanks, and nice bike!! I'm thinking of getting one of these, but at 6" 1 was a bit worried it might be too small. Where did your forward controls come from?
Progressive suspension, 1" Lowering front and rear. Electronics are all in stock position.
Looks nice , what did you do?
Beautiful Bike Mister !! I have a question about the rear fender. You say it is made lower (how many cm.) but you made it also shorter? It looks great !!
It looks great,
I was wondering if you lowered the back. If so how did you do it?
Did you cut the springs or put new shocks that are shorter?
Thank you!!
Man, your bike is exactly what I was thinking of, it looks amazing. Couple questions if you don't mind. Where did you get the seat, and did you have to modify anything to mount it? And, did you paint your cylinder covers yourself? How did you mask them if you did? I can't tell you how awesome your bike looks!!
God I want this exact motorcycle, but with different handle bars.
Glad you like the bike. Those forward controls are from a company called Jardine, I think they are discontinued now though. They were pretty spendy when new, nearly $400.00
beautifully made motorcycle. I plan to buy one too. I have a question, where did you buy the foot pedals? I want a similar one
@FullArmorRadiocom
Thanks I appreciate it.
where did you get the seat?im having trouble finding one like that for mine
What Seat IS that its amazing
Hi, what rear wheel did you use? I have the ''closed'' rim and its ugly as hell, but can't find any custom rims. Amazing build!
Very nice bike! i have a 98 magna and am looking to change the exhaust to get a throatier sound. I like the way yours looks and sounds. Were they custom made or aftermarket ? Did you have to rejet the carbs?
Thanks
Where did you get this seat, I can't find it anywhere
Could you list what forward controls you used?
Ride it man
Hi beautiful bike! What license plate bracket did you use? im looking to use a side mount for my 1998 magna as well. Thanks!
Not sure exactly which vendor, but if you jump on eBay and search "side mount tag bracket + stop light" You'll be able to see some options.
Good luck with your bike!
Could you tell me where did you get those footpeg extenders?
Sharp bike! Congrats!
They are from Jardine. Long discontinued.
clean looking bike man. do you remember how you fit those exhaust tips on there? the original ones are welded together with a small pipe between them. on the lower exhaust, you can pull the end of the exhaust off but the top one has still a piece of 'mid pipe' stuck to it?? is it possible to only get the end parts off so i can fit straight pipes on there??
Thanks for the kind words. The pipes are a full set from Cobra, unfortunately they have been discontinued. Cobra does still offers their " Boulevard Slash Cut" pipes, which sound just the same as these but look closer to stock styling. At around $350 for the set, they are the least expensive aftermarket pipes available for this bike. Check eBay, I see used sets pop up all the time. Good Luck
I was hoping you could tell me where you got the front turn signals and how you mounted those. I have searched all over ebay and can't find anything like them but I love the clean look. Also for the rear signals did you just drill through the fender to mount those? Awesome looking bike!
What seat is that and did you change the rear fender?
were can i get a set of forward controls at cheap....
No YOU are F#$&*ing awesome...Thanks, she's still riding like the day I finished 'er
@ScorpioSVX Thanks man. I'm sure yours IS sweet.
hey did the paint turn out ok? im about to buy that same paint and im not sure if its good or not.
@funkybassguy68 Thanks. Sorry no info on the seat, it came from a donor bike
What kind of seat did you use?
Where did you get the seat ? Beautiful machine !
I just purchased a 94 Magna. It came with an aftermarket Corbin seat and the factory seat. On the factory seat, you can remove the back part of the seat to get the single rider look.
What forward controls are those
Where did you get the forward controls to fit the bike?
what's that seat off of? or made for?
R yur wheels powder coated or painted ? Looks good, I have a 98,put 31 k on it w/no problems
beautiful bike, what have you got now? you know you lost some respect when you sold it huh? ;) were the forward controls a custom build? i didnt catch it in the video unfortunately, great bike!
@Superbikeman Hey I appreciate the good word. I'm not sure about the signals, the parts bike had some Kuryakyn and Ness goodies, so maybe one of those. Good luck with your bike.
Damn, I thought I had the sweetest Magna!
Naw man, that's do it with Dan lol
thats a F#$&*ing awesome bike.
Where did you get that seat? And where did you hide all the wires that are originally under the seat?
@69moparfan
Hi, sweet ride! What kind of seat is that? I'm looking for one for my Magna
Thanks, but she isn't for sale yet.... at least not officially.
I'm sorry if this is a repetetive question, but what exactly did you do to the rear fender? I'm just having a hard time mentally understanding what you did to it?
I did all the work myself, so that take the labor out of the equation. I troll eBay alot so that reduces the amount I spend on parts. The materials for the paint job cost roughly $100.00, the progressive shocks, front and rear, were around $250.00. I bought a parts bike that had the forward controls, pipes, rear fender and seat.
Actually, I'm likely going to list this week. Jacksonville craigslist
Hey man, I know you posted this years ago but do you recall what paint you used on the engine casing? I love the black engine but hate the mattee finish all the high temp paints seem to have. Yours looks great!
Yep, I use Dupli-Color engine enamel. It comes in tons of colors and is good to 500 degrees. I keep all sheen levels of black on hand but I suspect this is the Semi-Gloss. By the way, I touched up the frame with their High-Gloss... Remember to give everything a good scuffing first (grey scotch-brite works great) then wipe down with wax & grease remover, blow or tack off, then paint away...Good Luck, thanks for looking!
Ahhh, that's another detail I missed. The Frame looks awesome.
I ended up doing my engine with Rustoleum Gloss Black Engine Enamel. Very similar look to how yours came out. I just did engine and not the frame, but it still looks pretty darn good. Plenty of gloss for my liking. I haven't put any miles on it yet though so we shall see how it holds up.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Honda could have done a lot with this bike,I don`t know why they quit producing it??
how much do you think you spent from beginning to end to customize your bike to look so cool??? I've got a '98 Magna with less than 1000 miles that I just inherited, and I want to do some work on it to make it my own..
