I am new to wheelchairs. Thank you for this video. I am getting a Quantum Edge mid 2.0 wheelchair in February which I am very excited about. I still have to get ramps built for my house. But that will be a big Improvement because then I'll be able to go outside. thanks for reading

Permobil rocks!! Super durable generally speaking - nothing for heavy off-roading lol 😆. Smooth riding and good seating, comfort options. New subscriber btw.

    Hello, I love your name!!
That name would fit me too. 😅
I've been watching videos on mobility chairs so that's probably why your video popped up.
Thanks for being honest and telling us what you like and don't like about your chair.
I've been looking at this brand, but doubt my insurance will cover it.
    Thanks again.
    Take care of yourself.

A Permobil F3 (front wheel drive) is more compact because it doesn't have front caster wheels and it also wouldn't spin. It is made for both indoors and outdoors. You have a mid wheel drive chair...which I believe is made for indoors. The battery IS ok...it's not an outdoor chair. I have to have a head rest because I have neck issues...and it says RIGHT ON them NOT to hang things from them. That's a danger to you.

I had a pride Forefront which is a knockoff to the Permobil front-wheel-drive chair. Of course everyone has their preferences but front-wheel-drive chairs have issues of their own. Buyer beware. The Pride Forefront at least is quite a bit longer than the Permobil M3 and it has a very long, unwieldy, invisible back-end Someone described it to me as having a big caboose. It requires a fairly wide turning space. Since the back wheels just trail and have no power, I have a very difficult time feeling where the chair is spatially. For me at least with cerebral palsy and the resulting spatial perceptual anomalies, a center drive chair seems more predictable and intuitive. To use automotive language, I can feel how it handles without seeing certain parts of it directly so I can anticipate better how is going to maneuver and react to an environment. As far as hanging things on the back of the chair, the hooks are provided directly by the manufacturer as an accessory and I've had no adverse consequences using them. I've had previous Pride Quantum level 3 rehab chairs and they handle gravel and grass much better than the
Permobil M3. If I get stuck and I have already in a very short time, the chair is way too heavy for me to extricate myself without help. I've had the chair for less than a month and have less than a hundred miles on it. I don't know what's wrong with the battery but I'm worried. Like the presenter, I've had issues with the battery not lasting nearly as long as the manufacturer literature claims it will despite the fact that they are supposedly new with the chair. I am waiting for the light package to arrive as well as some additional equipment to make the footrest more comfortable for long term use. If anyone reads this and finds it useful, please reply to me and we can start a dialogue. In the meantime, happy cruising.

@@baxtercol good to know. I said nothing about hooks...I thought he was hanging things from the headrest, which can break it. If he were to pay for it himself, he would want to know things that can break it.

@@morgancalvi6675 definitely. I really like the fact that the permobil has an allen
wrench right in the back of the chair. That's really convenient if I want to remove the headrest, for example, when I go to the hairdresser period my whole purpose in writing this comment was to attempt to provide some caveats and insights. I didn't mean to criticize you or anyone at all. Thanks for taking the time to read my comment.

@@baxtercol it's great insight you provided and it's always nice to know good and bad things about something you are pretty much going to be in all the time.

Hey man nice video! I have had my permobil for one year and a month now. It works perfect for me and everything is all good, just have been a little concerned, I have to do the full recline at least four or five times a day, wondering if that will be too many times to do the full recline as it is making quite a bit of squeaking noises, just wondering if anyone sees this comment and can let me know The general time this thing will last! Thank you
