Thank you for this video! I’m saving this for when I finally have my own homestead! Also, thank you and your husband for your service to our country on this Memorial Day, remembering all those who lost their lives , serving our beautiful country!
YAAAAY! I've been waiting for this video!! Thank you so much. I hope you're having a blessed Memorial Day. God bless America and all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy today. Its important to remember their families sacrifice as well. ❤🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲❤🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you Constance and your husband for your service!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 Your one of my favorite, and love how you witness about your faith, and also that you can do so much and are so independ! "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
Fantastic walk through of your pantry rack/shelving. Great tips too on what you'd change the next time with the 2x6 base and shorter vs taller can rack. Thank you for taking the time to go thoroughly through it and share it with us.
Thanks for sharing your DIY pantry storage solutions and how you built everything. I wish you much success at your new homestead. I hope that you are planning to recreate your pantry storage at your new home. I’m glad you took the time to film this video not only for yourself but to share with us. The measurements and assembly tips will help tremendously when I attempt to build some pantry storage units.
I have seen someone do one that rolled along the wall but I’m thinking doing several smaller ones like this would work better. This new family is blessed to have this house. If only people would treat the ones coming after them would treat the incoming the way you are. God Bless you Constance.
Thank you for sharing. I have the can storage saved in Pinteras, but now I will save this video. Love the canning shelving and how you made the space for cleaning. I agreed with making shelves closer to get more storage. I have a closet with 3 shelves and I want to take them out and add extra.
Thank you so much, Constance, for sharing how you made the can storage rack! I do believe I will be making me one of these, because the shelving I now have, is not working well for me. It is taking up too much space in my closet so this would be a great addition to my can storage. And I do think I will make two smaller sets as you suggested. I have saved this video so I can refer back to it when I get ready to build my racks. 😊 Have a wonderful Memorial Day! Thanks to your and Mr. Smith for your service to our country! You are greatly appreciated!❤❤
THANKS FOR THIS!! I am also going to be using this video to support a work request for updating our pantry!! I work at a group care facility (all grant supported I understand) and truly think this will be a better method of organizing can goods. Also, if anyone needs a great place for donations we need community help badly! We provide safe harbor to the mentally ill persons WANTING help. But, we are hurting for food and cleaning supplies..any help would be greatly greatly appreciated! God's Blessings to all.
Excellent, Constance! When l make mine, l will make a few columns for taller soup cans, and a separate stand for big, fat cans of fruit/ beetroot (850g in Australia). A great design! Thankyou so much for taking the time to share...l really appreciate it. God bless! ❤🥫🥫
I am sooooo thankful to have seen this video!!! I want to do this soon as I get a minute from everything else...lol. What beautiful work. No wonder the inspector was speechless. And I do like the clean, raw wood. I just love wood. What a unique thought too on putting a wedge in the bottom and a bit of space for the bottom can to come forward. Can't wait to view more of your videos. Jesus bless.
Amazing thank you Constance. Very nice work, you know what your doing. And I also want to thank you for your service to our country. God bless you both. ❤️
That was really ingenious! I love the way you made all of that so strong and beautiful. And it looks brand new! I hope I can get my brain to do things so streamlined and efficient someday! I’m definitely going to try this when I get a chance!
Thank you for this. I already have a huge pantry closet but it's impossible to use the oldest cans first. This closet never had sheet rock hung in it so I added lots of horizontal cross braces and just stack my cans on them. I'm thinking I can remove the cross braces I installed and just attach the 1x4's to the existing wall studs. It would take some serious thought but I'm pretty sure I can pull it off. I'm the planner/'builder' in our family and luckily my hubby is happy to let me be.
This video is SO HELPFUL. We are in the process of reorganizing our pantry storage. We are doing a lot more canning now and need different space. I have also always thought about building a "can rack" for our cans of things, but never have I seen one that is so simple to understand and build. Can't wait to get going on this project now!!
I am not a spatial thinking person. The gene from my dad jumped over me and landed on my son. I am going to save this video to learn how to overcome my spatial thinking issues and build cool stuff like you do.
Totally making one of those. Just have to figure out where! The instructions were perfect 👍🏻One perk of the cans over mason jars. One thing I have to figure out is storage for empty jars. I started out trying to put them behind, but that didn’t work out.
What was the initial square footage of this room? You did a fantastic job of utilizing every square inch! I’m about to start a demo to an area I’m my laundry room that will go into an open step up area in my garage. Wish you lived closer to Texas, lol.
I love that behind-the-door storage. Could I add a little thin steel plate over the door so that if the wind catches the door, it won't slam into the broom holder prongs and make a hole in my cheapo hollow core doors? Hmm... I love your use of space and also the stability in it all.
Great job on the shelving! Funny… I grew up in Southern California and lived in Alaska for a few years… I was wondering where are the “raised edges” to prevent the jars from falling off during tremors and earthquakes! 😅
I was thinking that even an apartment has wasted space. Ive been looking at the area next to my fridge It would be nice to have one that pulls out with narrow shelves for cooking oil and hanging skillets out of the way If I leave Id have to fill holes n prime. I may just measure the space n see what I can find ready made to adapt as a freestanding unit . That would leave a surface for storing a mixer or airfryer 🤔
Fantastic. I love it. My local inspector would not allow me to build so close to the electric panel. We are required to have a couple of feet of clearance on either side of the door Why not just modify what you have with one ot two more landing shelves between the top and bottom? Then it would be perfect. FYI, I plan to copy your rugged, heave duty design. Thanks
Y not slant each shelf. Like bottom shelf slanted a little so cans at top would roll from top to front where u could take can out n cans would roll to front now shelf above could be slanted from front where u put cans in and they wiuld roll from front to back n make the shelf so its not as long front to back so when you put can on upper shelf it rolls to the back then drops down to lower shelf where it would roll to front where u could access older can firse. Then each 2 shelves above would do the same.
OOO MY GOSH 😮😮😮 OOOO I WANT THAT BUT WOULD LIKE IT ON WHEELS SO THAT I CAN GET TO THE BACK TO PUT THE NEWER STUFF IN THE BACK AN USE THE STUFF IN THE FRONT.... WOW WOW WOW WANT THAT WANT THAT CRAZY BAD... I HAVE METAL SHELVING UNITS AN THERE IS JUST NOT ENOUGH SHELVES FOR THE DEAD SPACES IN THEM AN THAT STORE BAUGHT CANS RACK IS JUST THE B0MB LOVE THAT TO THE MOON AN BACK WOW WOW WOW I WONDER IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO ON HOW TO MAKE THAT RACK??? BLESSINGS & BE HOPE FILLED F-R-A-N-K-I
Since the can rack is screwed together, why didn’t you dismantle it and take it with you? Was it part of the buyer’s contingency? With lumber prices being what they are, it adds up quick. I realize that the move you had was pretty overwhelming that would have just “one more thing”. Great build.
Thank you for this video! I’m saving this for when I finally have my own homestead! Also, thank you and your husband for your service to our country on this Memorial Day, remembering all those who lost their lives , serving our beautiful country!

Thank you Constance! This was perfect! Even so, must've been hard to say goodbye for the last time. Hoping you Shavuot was good! Shalom my Sister! 😊

That’s a good option! Or just add a door stopper to the front of the shelf.
Genius!!!!
Many many thanks👏👏👏
Thanks, great video!
Omy that is cool would love to have that much wall space but unfortunately I don't
Great job on the shelving! Funny… I grew up in Southern California and lived in Alaska for a few years… I was wondering where are the “raised edges” to prevent the jars from falling off during tremors and earthquakes! 😅
Not really needed in Alabama ;)
Ty for this great video!!
Thank you

Thanks
Our inspector was fine with this design, because the panel door wasn't hindered in any way.
I wana make the can rack where u put cans n top n take from bottom. Would make a great business to bld n sell
With the lesser quality of cans these days, and how they are denting so easily, having a shorter rack is a good idea.
Goals❤
Y not slant each shelf. Like bottom shelf slanted a little so cans at top would roll from top to front where u could take can out n cans would roll to front now shelf above could be slanted from front where u put cans in and they wiuld roll from front to back n make the shelf so its not as long front to back so when you put can on upper shelf it rolls to the back then drops down to lower shelf where it would roll to front where u could access older can firse. Then each 2 shelves above would do the same.
❤
Don’t the cabs get dented dropping them?
I don't drop them in, I lower them in place. But just pulling out a can and the ones above coming down, doesn't dent them.
❤
👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
OOO MY GOSH 😮😮😮
OOOO I WANT THAT BUT WOULD LIKE IT ON WHEELS SO THAT I CAN GET TO THE BACK TO PUT THE NEWER STUFF IN THE BACK AN USE THE STUFF IN THE FRONT....
WOW WOW WOW
WANT THAT
WANT THAT CRAZY BAD...
I HAVE METAL SHELVING UNITS AN THERE IS JUST NOT ENOUGH SHELVES FOR THE DEAD SPACES IN THEM
AN THAT STORE BAUGHT CANS RACK IS JUST THE B0MB LOVE THAT TO THE MOON AN BACK WOW WOW WOW
I WONDER IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO ON HOW TO MAKE THAT RACK???

It was made for that wall and was one of the added "perks" of the house :) I don't have a wall here that it would fit properly anyways.
