    Ending the video with The Seventh Seal and having the footage used being "It is finished." is genius.

    That's well put together and a solid list - I enjoyed trying to name the film before the title came up. I was pleased to see The Artist in there, and many of my favourites.

    I'm glad you clarified this was your favorites list. Some of those I agree with and some I don't, but that is why there are so many diverse films and tastes out there. I would not have put Oppenheimer on my list. With the back and forth in time and some assumptions of conversations, I found it boring. But, since nothing else came out last year worth much... it'll be the best picture of the year. I would have replaced it with Sisu. My two favorite movies of all time are Rocky and Casablanca. I would have thrown up a Rita Hayworth movie as well.

    Great list, a few I can think of which I would like to add are: Shawshank Redemption, Sunrise: a song of two humans (1927), Network, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Up and another which I just watched again recently which does not make these lists very often, but is an absolutely brilliant ensemble movie is, Glengarry Glen Ross with Pacino, Lemmon, Baldwin, Arkin, Harris, Spacey and Pryce

    Great list! I especially appreciate you including Dr Zhivago, The African Queen, Judgment at Nuremberg, and some others which are too often overlooked. David Lean is my favorite director, and Alfred Hitchcock is right behind him, so glad they are well represented. There are a few here, like Mirror, I'll have to look for. I've seen almost all, own most! Of course, there are some I'd exchange for others (musicals for example) but personal preferences always come into it.

    What an immersive and impressive choice. I own all these movies except STALKER & INSIDE/OUT, which I've seen and SACRIFICE, which I've never seen but been trying to find a beautiful blu ray transfer! 90 percent of the movies you chose are on my outstanding list and 10 percent on my exceptional or great list. It's incredible!

    Extremely good list, it’s hard to name all the great movies that have come out. That said, I would’ve included Raging Bull, Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Giant, The 10 Commandments, Psycho, Rebel Without a Cause, Apocalypse Now, Godfather 2, Saving Private Ryan, Philadelphia, Goodfellas and Rocky.

    Fantastic to see many 1940's and 50's classics that other reviewers simply shun because they're "old black and white stuff".

    • @randyacuna5643
      @randyacuna5643 6 месяцев назад

      I could not agree with you more , old black and white and 3 strip technicolor movies made in the 1930s 1940s and 1950s was ( in my view) the true classic period. Even today, there will always be talent , but not the stage training that actors had in those days. CGI today has killed the human element in movies. The technical aspects are missing, example, 1955s This Island Earth, very well done by technical artists, now it would be just CGI used today. Ouch! Too many great B&W movies are just overlooked. The last 40 years or so cannot match the saying of " they don't make them like they use too". We have no John Barrymore or Paul Muni or Boris Karloff.

    No movie made after 2005 can ever be considered in the top 100. These movies you named with very few exception are so far below the rest. Hollywood is broken and I wonder if it can ever be fixed, not if these are the best you can offer.
