I was so upset it took them three years to come out with season 2. Then I watched the first five minutes of episode 1 and I was like: oooooooh, so that's why. Absolutely incredible show. Animation unmatched, soundtrack certified banger, amazing action and storytelling and deep and interesting characters... Absolutely 10/10 for me.

Such a fantastic song. Especially love when the chorus of kids comes in - has a very nightcore feel to it.
I am obsessed with the show (on my third time watching it) and I describe the music as like a big bow you put on a present; just brings it all together.

Sucker has been my repeat song from season 2 so far, The Line and Misha Mansoor's “The Beast” have been the other tracks I keep coming back to. I do love pomme and probably all or almost all of the other songs tho as well.
The "distorted child voices" just sound like a choir of women singing in the "baby voice" to me, no special effects needed. We did that in high school for a Britney Spears song once and also for a high school musical song. It's not hard to do but also not easy to keep doing. It definitely hurts the throat if you do it a lot at once and can be very bad if done too often. But ok for a single song or two here and there. Our teacher warned all the girls not to sing "baby voice" often because it can be super damaging to the vocal chords. In fact Britney Spears shredded her voice by being forced to use baby voice as her main singing voice.

God, act 2 made me cry so so so so fucking much.
I think I didn't make it through acts 1 and two without crying during every episode. Now that I think of it, I think it was only episode 8 that I can't recall crying during.
A lot of songs in Arcane are much more emotional because of the context they were uitilized in, but Sucker is my favorite song from Arcane as a hole. God damn is it good! I can't have enough of it
So much of the music from Arcane is...incredible. If you haven't done so already, please listen to both the recorded version of 21 Pilots 'The Line' and the live version. In my humble opinion, the live version from the video game awards show is better then the version done for the second to last episode of season 2.

Great video! I can't believe they don't even have the correct lyrics in the video itself! I noticed this throughout season 2 that the CC for many (if not all) of the songs have the wrong lyrics. It drives me crazy!
Those are auto-generated captions. They do have the full lyrics in the video descriptions, but I have no idea why they didn't also added formally as CC

Definitely my favorite song from both Seasons, cant stop listening to it. Just wish Season 2 story, writing, and character development/reversion/switching wasnt so poor. Animation is absolutely gorgeous of course as well. Unfortunately Season 2 brought the show as a whole off my number one spot, disappointing. Appreciate your breakdown of this banger of a song!
3:50 this might be nit-picky but I disagree xd lit. every single idol-anime or music-anime has this. Songs written for the show, in full albums xd and to an extend, you could even say all the characters songs of every anime ever are like that, even tho they dont even are used in the show, they are written specifically for it

A large part of the unique bit is how much there is back and forth between the music creation and animation team along with each other - collaborative.
Neither is produced before the other in a way that the other needs to be created in a way that has to fit an existing song or base animation. And a show like this is distinct from a music Anime because it’s not about characters that are singers etc, this is a unusual thing to see in shows that are not focused on the music industry or musician characters. Also the level of full orchestral and cinematic elements are numerous, not just a couple songs in a season.

Peter, I love you and all, but I really wish you'd analyse mainstrean artists/songs than these niche songs. I'm sure you'd get more views and subscribers. That's why I watch Elizabeth's channel all the time because I love the songs chosen.
The videos where I cover mainstream artists tend not to perform well - I’ve made videos for Metallica, Miley Cyrus, Avenged Sevenfold, etc., and they unfortunately flopped
