I started the 4th progression 1 month ago and was at the 7th yesterday. Got ballsy and tried to skip the 8th progression, and i magically did 5 pistols in a row, yay! Solid video!
Your videos are really great and helpful (Probably in my top 3 list that I always watch for skill mastery). I would like to add some notes: 1. The first progression "The Air Squat" is basically a "Deep Squat". Start by making sure you can get into a deep squat, bringing your butt close to your heels while keeping a straight back. I'm adding this because it may give viewers the idea you are just performing a regular squat and consequently say "I can do the Air Squat, I will move to the next progression" Remember "Deep Squats" 2. If you can't Deep Squat, you need to work on your flexibility a bit. Just search over the internet for "hip flexibility issues" and do the stretches. 3. 1. It seems there is a spot in the middle of your videos (the center is all blurred). My guess is you need to clean the lens of your camera with a soft wipe before your record every video. By no means I'm an expert but I can tell you about my experience when working out my progressions for the Pistol Squat. Thanks again Dan Jeong for your videos!
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it. And the reason why the center is blurred is because of the bright lighting. When you look at the left side of the video, you can see the screen is blurred there as well. Maybe I need to find a different location!
This looks GREAT! I think I found the progression program that I will follow for one-legged/pistol squats. Your method seems like the best way to build up to doing pistol squats without developing the crutch of holding onto poles etc. The momentum squats make so much sense, your tutorial is the first one that I've seen that included this progression. Discovered your channel today. Great stuff.
Great video :) I'm just wondering can you dunk? I'm trying to find out which would be more beneficial (in terms of vertical jump) pistol squats or normal heavy squats. I can squat around 1.7 times my bodyweight but I'm only on progression 4/5.
When I practice the supported pistol, at the beginning my left knee (the one I use for squatting) tends to produce a crackling sound. Kind of like the sound when you are stretching, but it doesn't hurt. And my supporting foot pivots (outside) on its own at times. Lol. Is it normal for a beginner?
do you think doing voiceover is more effective? Doing voiceover takes more time but I will do it if it is more effective. I always appreciate any feedback.
BRILLIANT! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!! I will make progress!

Nice Work dude. I will start doing this progression. Thank you
Cool video, thanks for putting this together. I WILL get this bloody hard exercise right :D

Your tutorials are really good !
SoonPil Kwon
I am following your progression . however, I noticed tightness in both of my ankles. can you make a video addressing ways to ankle flexibility ?

+BeatJackersBox last time i played b-ball was in 2006 so Im not sure, but i'm pretty sure that I can't lol
Dan Jeong Conditioning oh ok lol , thanks for the reply

I love your videos!
Are doing these early exercises, such as #2 and #3, enough to improve ankle dorsiflexion or do you recommend something else?
If you lack ankle flexibility, I recommend working on it specifically.
Solid video as always, man. Although when you talk, it's cooler (like the handstand tutorial).
do you think doing voiceover is more effective? Doing voiceover takes more time but I will do it if it is more effective. I always appreciate any feedback.
I personally like it more, but that's just my humble opinion.
HornedDemoN ok thanks!
Hello,
I have to do it gradually as the first week 1.Air squart a second week 2.One Leg Forward Squart or exercise all at once?
Progress gradually
Can you make video about proper warm up routine? I think this is extremly important and very few people making videos about it.
sure I will work on it
Dan Jeong Conditioning Thank you. :)
감사합니다 thank you
Nice tutorial but i don't know why my flying leg when doing the squat is hurting a bit
you probably chose a progression that is too tough for you or you are slightly injured
Hey man, can I do those exercises all at once ? I tried, but very exhaust
no work on only 1~2 progression at the same time
+Dan Jeong Conditioning
I can't even do a regular squat due to my ankle and hip mobility :(
Glute Ham Raise tutorial please!!!!!!!
Maybe in the future :)
World record- PISTOL SQUATS- ruclips.net/video/pFC_d0tu9fk/видео.html
5x20r이면 5회씩 1라운드로 20라운드인가요? 20회씩 1라운드로 5라운드 인가요;
3 times for week is enough ?
2-3 times is good
thanks, keep working ! :)
