  • It may be one of the smallest towns in Canada, but Duncan has some of the biggest hearts. Meet a man whose life changed through music, see masks that reveal a fascinating history, and visit a farm that is growing hope.

"there's lots of handouts out there. But if you're willing to accept the hands up that's a little different because you have to work a little bit you have to face your fears"
my favorite quote from the video

I bluntly have to state the obvious. We are going through a homeless crisis in the Cowichan Valley. The homeless resource are overwhelmed and this video is definitely a advertisement to the nation to encourage homeless population to relocate here. It is a beautiful video but the homeless population has increased substantially since it was posted. Kindly take down the video.

Yep we are most likely at a point of no return. Companies on the Eastside are closing down. It's so sad. I wonder who saw this coming.

Duncan had a good youth baseball team in the mid 70's.

Too bad they didnt mention the Duncan Garage cafe and bakery , located on the park of the music festival. A must-see.

Just like any other city. And just like any other city, a lack of housing that is affordable.

This was a very informative & beautiful video. Thank you so much for making this, Telus. Unfortunately, I didn’t see much of any ethnic diversity beyond the standardized Canadian Natives and European settlers’ latter generational progeny. Otherwise, it’s a gorgeously shot, well lit, and nicely edited video with a highly palatable music score! ... Duncan. Might visit there in the near future. We’ll see!👍

Is it still a mecca for homeless people? If so, no thanks. There is NO excuse for long-term homelessness in Canada and it should not be glorified as something noble.

Glorified??????? Nothing noble about being hungry, cold, set and not having a place to live.
Not everyone is rich like you.
