I wouldn't want to go in the dark I have to cycle to the trail from home and back and if you haven't noticed, cars can be twats to cyclists. Also I'd 100% crash night riding :D
@@tomhughes1055 I've got a huge straight with no street lighting to cycle down when I'm coming home from the trails. every single time it feels like a drag race with a car that's trying to kill me.
Great video! Another bit of advice is you can use pretty much any bike for cadence and resistance training. When I am the beach I will do a ride on my beach cruiser, 10 or so miles, heart rate gets up to 150+ and the resistance is epic.
cm Ripp well but compared to 10 years ago, entry level enduro bikes are a lot cheaper and a lot better today.. for under 2000€ you can get a bike that takes almost everything you throw at it..
I have an awesome 12 mile loop that consists of a disused railway track, tow paths, gravel tracks and two sections of B road, which I use as my sprint sections (because the less time I can potentially be hit by a car, the better! Great motivation to push a bit harder! Lol)
Very good to watch, Used to ride mountain bikes ages ago. Picked up an enduro bike during lockdown, hopefully get to race a enduro soon! Been doing triathlon last few years so my finish is good but dunno if the skills are still there
Hitting the gym hard when the weather is just too bad to go out is another tip I follow. Capacity, Strength and coordination training. Like in the video session with Nino Schurter, Blake and Neil.
Thank you, Rich! That was great!! Lots of good helpful tips and really enjoyed seeing you start to feel more relaxed and hitting your stride in the videos. Verbal pace was spot on and I could even begin to feel how much more fun you're having in front of the camera 😃 Looking forward to the next! Cheers!!!
Can you guys please do a video where you explain the different heart rate zones in depths? The advantages and disadvantages of the different zones. #askgmbn
Had a try at an enduro race last year and was great fun and will be doing it again 👍🏻 my biggest problem was the stop start and queuing at stages. I’m 45 and have a good level of fitness and regularly ride 30 miles plus but the fitness didn’t quite translate. Any advice?
I just got off a nuckproof scout riding a mega 290 want to do some races after training but I can't believe how much faster this bike is like a plow down mountain
if only henry saw this vid prior racing, he might not flip 10 seconds in the race. maybe 15 or 20 seconds in. but still better than 10 seconds in. hahahah
they are not qualified to do a series with specific essentials on this...that's why they patched together this useless video. This video will only help those that know NOTHING.
I would like that the times for climbing up the trails in enduro racing weren’t so much loong, sometimes you can enev do it walking!! It would me much funnier if the times were tighter and you had to push yourself a little bit.
It annoyed me too, cross country is way more endurance focused and you have to be a lot fitter which is why people actually do it, because let’s be real, nobody’s doing cross country because it’s fun lol
I race enduro on a 130/120 and while it is possible, your arms are going to get tired a lot faster. That extra 20-40mm of suspension that enduro specific bikes have is very helpful on the steep chunky descents!
Can some one give me tips my race is 2weeks from now My heart is racing and my brain is blank when it's my turn to run and I cannot focus and my line I always crash and hitting tres
@@dominikhess5664 I see. I'm sure it's fun but it seems a bit strange to me that you would have a time limit and not time the uphills but then I suppose it would be xc...
@@aledge6317 Enduro racing shows how well and fast you can ride in terrain you don't know that much. :) It's really hard and awesome how fast today's riders can ride.
@@Joe_Greenwood i think its related about the right of way direction on roads. Here in philippines as same in u.s., when facing towards the road, on the right is going forward and the left is going opposite. But on the u.k. and japan, its the other way otherwise thats why british cars and japanese cars has left hand drive.
Stamina can be built by doing lots of easy aerobic riding. It really depends on what you enjoy more: long rides up and downhill in the mountains, keep the xc or if you want to hang around a bike park and walk back uphill then maybe you you will prefer downhill and might be better with an Enduro or trail bike. If you're a beginner then your skills and fitness will be the limits far more than the bike. Some Enduro races have hardtail and single speed categories so you will be fine, just give it a go...
Al Edge im biking for like 3 years on BMX and 4 years in XC bike but i converted it to my trail/dirt jump bike wich i send to much and break everything on it and this year i planned to go XC but here in Philippines we dont do that easy Beginner friendly race we do 60km race and 80% of it was uphills and im allready bored doing that because uphills are just a game for me i just finding like that moto feel like smashing rocks without thinking my fork will bottom out that much and im to much like a cardio guy i ridden 30kms uphills and just drinking 250ml wich is half of my water bottle
Al Edge we dont do bike categories here in our country we do Age category and experience category who gives a damn if you have hardtail in here they dont even care
You will want a bike with around 150/140 for enduro racing. I currently compete on a 130/120 and definitely feel the lack of suspension in my arms on the descents!
AM Trail Rider well im good at choosing lines and i dont know how i do it but i actually discovered accidentally that i can land so smooth one time i forgot my front fork was locked so thats a another skill i have and i have friends who have trek remedy he ride that on enduro competitions and he is like 5’4 and i am 5’5 so maybe it will work for me
i don't think so, or at least i cant with mine. you need to have a power meter and cadence sensor in order to have the data for garmin to power calculations
Can't wait for the days to get longer so I can ride in the evening. Not allowed to go into the forrest when the sun goes down.

Charlie Chaplin what like aerobic and anaerobic

The endurance of xc
That sentence triggered me so hard.

#askgmbn Is it ok if I get a second hand full face helmet?or should I just wait until I can afford a new one?
Always try to get a new one. Depending on what the helmet is made of it can only last one strike and they can crack
These videos are good and all but we need more games of bike and cards.
MORE FUNNY GAME VIDS
YES!
Let’s say my bike will be in the shop for a while would intervals on a stationary bike be good?
Yeah why not
Stationary bikes are a great form of training. Nothing beats wheels on dirt though!
kettle bell swings, turkish get up, functional movement training far more valuable than stationary bike training.
I've never done an enduro race before and hoping to sign up to a couple this year. Would I be ok on my 130mm trail bike? #askgmbn
