You Blake have been an inspiration to me and my recovery from heroine and crack.. what!?!!. Yep! I spent£100 + every day on smoking it.. till I saw your videos . I once had a deep passion for mountain biking downhill. I detoxed and started using my bike once again. it was probably the only thing and never sold. My 2005 Kona explosif hardtail.. she's just as good as she ever was and believe me I've not touched that s*** since. It's been going well and I would like to thank you and the rest of your team for helping me big love Sean
Damn straight, wish I could get him to coach for an afternoon. My skills are pathetic compared to this tutorial and without the hours, days, weeks, months to put into learning the good and unlearning the bad, I could really use some help to help accelerate the process.
Yes, but please continue to do them on a 'normal' mountain bike please rather than a specific trials bike - makes it more relevant to mountain biking and more relevant for us poor folks with only one bike!! (and i do love trials as well) cheers, i have seen every gmbn video!!!
I’ve been mountain biking for around 20 years - the skills you really need are - good judgement (what to do and what not to do) - Balls - great balance - being calm -being mentally switched on - advanced braking skills - ability to jump off bike when it goes wrong - some ability to land/roll well - bunny hop (over roots and rocks) - step down You don’t need many other skills on a real mountain bike trail (Because it almost certainly will have no jumps in it), if you’re doing an artificial course you might also need how to jump a bit. So no need for fakie’s, stoppies, endo’s. You need manual for step down (Got to get your front wheel up), and the rest of it e.g. tight cornering and so forth, comes naturally.
Absolutely! Blake does trials series, and none of this trials specific bike stuff, that's just making it easy by having the right geometry....and most of of us ride enduro bikes anyway! Love the vids, keep up the awesome work!
Absolutely love this guy, I am a beginner getting into mtb with an interest in trails however I have zero skills on a bike.. So the advice here is awesome! Cant wait to get my new bike, try some of this and impress my missus
Finding something to fill the gap that give me a buzz and keeps me fit is avid send.. Blake thepatron saint of dirt jumping.. (thank you all for saving my life 😃
yes please. Blake is great teacher. if he thinks that his trials are appalling then he should come and look at mine. my trials are terrible. i can barely do any of those things except for the last one. this is why i need videos like this. to help me be better at mountain biking. =)
Great set of skills, Blake! This was a very good video. I've been struggling with the Endo and Endo turn; the thought of going OTB scares me. Yours was a new suggestion on it, and I'll give it a try! Cheers, man!
First of all can i say as a brand new MTB rider, these video are AMAZING. I am loving putting these into practice ! You guys do a sensational job. One small quibble in this video, you mention at 8:45 about 'curling your toes around the pedals. 1. I can't see that happening, 2. how can that be possible in runners ? Surely it's the physics/momentum/weight shift of your body on the bike rolling the loading, which pops the back wheel up ? Thanks guys !
Thanks for the awesome feedback Dean👍. Yes your right 🤣 it's not possible to actually curl your toes around the pedal as Blake said, but this is a great way to visualise what your feet are trying to do. Check this video Neil did a little while back gmbn.eu/BunnyHop
Blake is the man and should definitely do more triels. And nice progression on fakie... No more they can say that "Blakie can't fakie" ;) . Keep 'em coming. Curtis had a good idea about the video with Martyn and Sam, do a game of Bike on trials.
I train heavy vehicle drivers. 'Where you look is where you go' comes out of my mouth regularly when trying to get them to do tighter U turns. Looking back over your shoulder as you turn. Works. Dragging some back brake helps on a motorcycle too.
i learned a lot in all your GMBN tutorial.. but my heavy allu frame need extra power and effort .. hope to get carbon in the future.. thanks for uploading guys..
Hello GMBN Team. Thanks for all the awesome Videos, your content is top noch and I cant seem to get enough!!!! Have you ever done a Video on buying a used bike? I'm sure that I'm not the only one that would find your expertise on the subject extremely helpful. Thanks again and keep on sending it!!!!!
Another great tutorial video Blake!!👍This is always the first channel I go to when I want to work on a new skill! Also I would love to see another colaberation with Sam Pilgrim.👍
Deep respect. Nice video! Are there "real world" practical needs for these other than tight turns and being "one" with the bike? These seem like the argument to kata in martial arts.
Tip to manual: I could barely get my wheel off the ground and it was so annoying. I could wheelie and everything but could never manual. So I got an old cheap pink bike from my sister, which was pretty small. It had a really low seat and so I started using that. I went on the road for a while and just practiced the two movements, that make the L shape. I then started speeding it up and trying to get good technique. I was already getting improvement but wasn’t going all the way up. So then I started really loading down the bike and pushing down the pedals and then pushing back. You’ve almost got to kick the pedals out when you transfer your weight backwards. The straighter your legs are the further back you go if you have good technique. Then if you go to far you bend your knees or touch the break. Hope this helps
Who'd like to see Blake do more trials on his enduro bike? Let us know in the comments below 👇
Me.
I want!!
You should do a video of learning trials with help from Martyn and Ali C
I recommend Sam Pilgrim and his buddy Tom Cardy, those two do some cool street trials that went kill you in the learning process.
More trials!!! I got into MTB’ing because of trials.
You Blake have been an inspiration to me and my recovery from heroine and crack.. what!?!!. Yep! I spent£100 + every day on smoking it.. till I saw your videos . Damn straight, wish I could get him to coach for an afternoon. My skills are pathetic compared to this tutorial and without the hours, days, weeks, months to put into learning the good and unlearning the bad, I could really use some help to help accelerate the process.
John Saccoccio so how did it go?
I am also learning these days .
Agreed!
I do love Blake he’s an awesome presenter, super excited and genuine and then really good at explaining in these kind of videos

Er, that is a normal bike, not a trials bike
jo morken størseth notice his use of the word ‘continue’
I guess he meant hardtail
"Auchan" premium class bikes.

Thx Skilz give confidence when riding any enviroment..Snow and cold tests your balance like riding in sand....
Great set of skills, Blake! This was a very good video.
I've been struggling with the Endo and Endo turn; the thought of going OTB scares me. Yours was a new suggestion on it, and I'll give it a try!
Cheers, man!
Blake should do trials with Danny Mac
This was uploaded on my birthday
The most outstanding rider and a very unusual engineer. The essential Multiblake
Awesome! To the extent he said there are a few techniques at which Blake’s not very good, you know there’s gotta be some good outtakes...
Yes! Take a trip north to ride with Ali Clarkson.
6:55 I see a good boy
Yes trails please on your enduro bike so we can relate!

You and Neil are my favorite teachers and yeah, definitely, some more trially stuff. But this one was an excellent skill set to learn. Kudos to you.
Just got my first full suspension bike and can only do about 2 of these. Definitely gonna learn these.
Yeah, let's see some more trials Blake!
Do trials Blake. You're amazing.
..I never get tired of watching you doing your thing..thumbz up blake
That would be awesome to see more trials! Especially with Blake and Sam
Best thing is I live right by where this video is shot. Result!
Great to see you guys in one of my local pump tracks in Bristol!
Very interesting how these skills translate to riding a motorcycle. Keep it up! Love the videos
It's new(to me) bike day! My first full squish. Now to not lose my mind waiting on it
Ive done all this stuff lol. Two things id add, balancing without moving much, and riding on curbs as long as you can
I like the way you explain and demonstrate the tricks. Nice job. Thanks and greetings from Peru! 🇵🇪
Thanks, good tips for those of us with trails currently under snow
Do more trials. You asked for it ;-) I love watching them. Thanks Blake
Yes bring it on
Yeah! Go for it!
Another great video! Keep it up be because I can't stop!
Thanks dude! 🤟
Blake is the man and should definitely do more triels. And nice progression on fakie... No more they can say that "Blakie can't fakie" ;) . Keep 'em coming. Curtis had a good idea about the video with Martyn and Sam, do a game of Bike on trials.

Thanks a lot bro i need to practice all this technique very informative content
Please do more trials for example with Ali Clarkson.
That would be cool, or Chris Akrigg? 🤟
Would be great too. I'm looking forward to this video
No excuses Mr. Samson! I saw someone riding that exact pump track, in the snow, recently :¬p
You cab see kids riding it in this very video! Not significant but funny I thought.
I train heavy vehicle drivers. 'Where you look is where you go' comes out of my mouth regularly when trying to get them to do tighter U turns. Looking back over your shoulder as you turn. Works.
Dragging some back brake helps on a motorcycle too.
I love Blake mtb❤️
i learned a lot in all your GMBN tutorial.. but my heavy allu frame need extra power and effort .. hope to get carbon in the future.. thanks for uploading guys..

@@gmbn Not at all!
Great video. Made ma to go out and try it. Very nice way to explain how to do it. Cheers 👍
Blake's suspension is so soft!!
when doing a stoppie with speed with your body weight neutral, you suspension should most likely be 90% through its travel
Awesome tutorial Blake🥇
thanks
Love from India🇮🇳 brother
Blake we need to see you ride that mega in a full raw footage to hear that bike shredding a trail :)
Deep respect. Nice video! Are there "real world" practical needs for these other than tight turns and being "one" with the bike? These seem like the argument to kata in martial arts.
Fakies and manuals... I need to work on these!
Great video..Thank you!!
