The pump track is a great place to run over skateboarders and young kids on BMX bikes. Seriously, the trails where I’m learning are almost always deserted in the evenings, but the track is always full of non mountain bikers.
I hope you're wrong. There is a pump truck under construction in my area and I have just got into MTB (I'm 38). That's gonna be a great place to train but I don't want to run over any kids😁
Great video for me. I’m 47 and getting back into mountain biking. Already crashed and broke my nose! So now I’m ready for more practice. THIS TIME WITH A HELMET 🤷🏻♂️
I'm 34, got concussed pretty bad 2 years ago on a pumptrack. WAS wearing a helmet, wouldn't be typing this if I hadn't. Haven't gone back since but this video inspired me to do it again soon!
Also: one simple bright (yellow 💛) frame colour! Love it when the colour pops. TX, NASCAR reference is 😅! Riding a BMX as a kid taught me bike/body balance in a playful way, I stil have advantage of nowadays being 50.
Always rode full susp. Got an aggressive geometry Marin San Quentin 2 hardtail and did some mods. Awesome bike. Love the simplicity and lighter weight of a hard tail. I take it to all the trails that dudes show up in enduro bikes on 😂😂
Thank you GMBN.. nothing beats practice, but when not on the trail your team is wonderful at explaining the skills needed to ride.. it's helping very much! Thanks ... Charles in the Wilds
I love my Mongoose Ardor hardtail. It's basically the cheap version of the Nukeproof scout. Very similar geo & other than the thru-axle, I could fit all the same parts of I needed too.
Oh boy, the pump track! I've been bringing my 7 yo daughter there from time to time and never thought once I could benefit from there as well (besides bringing the exhausted kid back home, knowing that she'd be in bed and sleeping at 8). Sometimes the most obvious things are the hardest to think of. I've started biking seriously again 1 year ago, have tasted a bit of cross country trails in the southern alps last summer, and have also found out my limits there (had to jump off the bike a couple of times because brakes were dead and I couldn't handle the technical parts coming towards me). So your videos definitely come in handy. Thanks a lot. Also, you must have been your various teachers's nightmares back in the days. It seems like you have a fire lit under your bum 24/7 😃
thanks, blake! this is a great video and perhaps should be a series? i'm a road/gravel guy and just got my first hardtail - so while i'm not necessarily new to cycling, in Hardtail World i'm a total novice - so there is always room for beginner skill videos, and i really appreciate it. also, kudos on the van build, i loved that series. :)
Saw you back pedal when switching feet between corners. Years ago we learned to alway forward pedal when switching feet to prevent dropping the chain off the front ring. Not a big issue with current 1X mt bike drivetrains but still a problem on 2X gravel and mt bikes.
I love my plus hardtail, I even gave it a good Stripper name; Trixie, because she likes dancing in the rough, maybe not the way Blake dances, but close....lol
Thanks a lot for a very good tutorial, I will try to get some beginner skills, not easy, because I am a 60 year old pre-beginner with some speed and height fear.
Blake is definitely the hard tail master. I just wonder have you guys ever had your hand slip off your grip on a landing and spit you into the ground? That happened to me last week, rolled my ankle and am relegated to just cruising, no jumps for a while.
@@Eyesandears2011 I had gloves on, the grips are in good condition. I am wondering if I got moisture off my drink bottle on them. You can see it on my channel. My left hand just slipped off and had no time to recover. The thing that annoyed me is I have ridden off the log 100 times and never had that happen to me. It was a weird crash. I doubt it was even worthy of fails of the week.
Hey guys, like the idea of them but my worry with the clipless would be coming off the bike. Does your feet stay in the pedals? Sounds like it might be more dangerous? Excuse my ignorance im very new to this. Just saving up for my first new bike 😊
I'm going to experiment with being clipped in this weekend. I'm already feeling like it's not going to be for me. But I do have a hard time keeping my feet planted on the rough steep downhills.
Keep an open mind with it! It takes a couple of rides to get used to for sure, but you may end up liking it! If you want to go back to flats, focus on dropping your heels in order to keep them planted when the going gets rough :)
What type of MTB shoe do you recommend?? I want/ prefer a shoe that has ankle support and protection, friend broke his ankle many many years ago as a teen and don’t want to go through that.
And its not just "going left turn all the way" - its a speedway for....speed...minimized into track for space, and what is the best way to gain speed on small size 2 mile track - make it oval with banking.... Its not boring F1 racing where Verstappen always win.. Nascar has also road courses and also Nascar car was in Le Man this year, smoking some hypercars.. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.
Hey GMBN team, I like the video and the channel a lot but is it just me or is this clipLESS mantra a bit too much. I have not heard it anywhere else than in GMBN and you guys keep repeating it. On this very video after 3:25 first you mention "flats or clipless pedal" and then you talk about clipped in. What should someone get from this if they are looking for info and dont know much yet. It's mumbling that cannot be understood. Let go of those old pedals with baskets for your foots and start using clipped in as "clips" or not clipped in as "flats". Just my 20 cents. Will continue to enjoy these videos anyway!
I gave thumbs up just for the dancing!! Go Blake!
Those were some epic moves.
@@junka1975 epic evo moves
I think he knows this moves because he sings for the band Jungle as part-time...

Flow & style points from us! 😂
I have just bought a new hardtail after years riding a full suss. I said I would never go back but there is something about a good hardtail.
Ive heard alot of mountain bikers start on hardtails then go full sus then years later go back to hardtails like a born again purest.

I laughed so hard with that hardcore dancing. Well done Blake, as always.
Blake has always loved a good dance to some DnB music! 😂😂
🤣 Blake got me rolling! Great dance moves! Only on hardtails !!!
Blake is a legend 😄 that dance must be the sickest thing of the week 👌
Came for bike tips left with killer dance moves 👌
Why not spice it up? 😂

Blake moving to hardcore dance music - priceless!! 🤙
Thank you for the affirmation. You’ve reminded me why I’ve always had a hard tail, other than cost. 😂

Just went on my first ride on a trail this evening and it was epic! Love my new hardtail (BH Spike 3.0).
Can't wait for the next ride!
Your timing is great I get my new hardtail today
That dance part had me crying. Guess I need to get a hardtail so I can dance like Blake!
I woke up today on my birthday and saw a video of you straight away. Great birthday present, thank you😄
Happy Birthday for yesterday! 🔥🎉
@@gmbn Thanks for the congratulations and reply

Hahahahaha! Here it is again! The gorgeous Yellow Nukeproof!
And, yes, Blake, you are a fantastic presenter

my nearest pumpt track is like 6 hours away from me lol
Where did he find sunshine?😂. That dance is my new warm-up.
Thanks for the great content fun and educational including some new hard core dance moves 😂

yeah, i'm a big fan of the new 1x12 or 1x10 drivetrains. you can get incredibly rowdy and that chain never drops.
😂 I like it when the bike throws me round bit it like riding a bull if u going fast enough
Right on blake love the dancing 😅 yeah hardtail lotta fun a heck of a workout great teaching skills blake🚴🤙😀
06:38 best part 🤣💯
This guy is hilarious and yea the dancing is what got me lmao! My hard tail jacks me up always! But in a good way!
I have a hard tail with 29 2 20 tires. Kenda sport nevegal 29 2 20 and I wouldn't trade it for anything else
I just started on my local trails, can’t wait for my first injury😅
Blake should team up with Sam Pilgrim for some hardcore style dancing. ^^

Bravo bravissimo, acrobatic equilibristic funny fantastic Mr. Blake.
Blake's dad dancing 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have secondhand embarrassment for his wife Jen.
Please shoutout the HARDTAIL PHILIPPINES!
perfect video to begin the day
Facts! 😉🤘
Awesome video! Blake must have been a legend at the rave clubs in the 90's 😂
Blake defo makes me want to build an aggressive hardtail , just not sure iv got the knees for going over the rough stuff
Good information
Thanks! We hope it helps out on the trails 🙂
You sold me on the hard dance. Now only a hard tail for me 😂
That dance was sick

My question would be: Why did your hand slip off your grip? Sweaty? No gloves? Bad grips?
:-) Hope you get well soon so may jump again!

which one should i choose for starting mtb and lerning skills?, 27.5" or 29" ?
I saved this video to rewatch the hardcore dancing, the tips are just a bonus
He's got the moves 🕺

Nice ride
I'm glad I live in Texas so I don't have to learn to turn both ways.
That place is beautiful, where is it? Very useful tips, cheers ✌🏼
I need to see the dancing in the next video please! 🤘
Let’s go

Does anyone know Blakes frame size and his height? He really is a HT legend, watching the videos makes me ride my scout much harder an faster.
Hey Edvin, Blake rides a medium frame and is around the 5'10 mark!
HC music 😄😃😄
Blake, welcome to being a roadie!! ... I mean riding clipless!
Nice dance😝😁🤘🏻🤙🏻
blake>
the hardcore dancing hahahahhahaha
Hours as in multiple hours on a pump track? I would like to see that ;DDD
wow, i love nukeproof frames but don't have one.
You most definitely have to develop your skills a lot more to ride a hard tail. I love mine.
So Blake has now become a clipless zealot 🙂
