  • From radiant primer to light, dewy foundation, Pixiwoo share their top products and techniques for a pro-age glow
    As we get older, our skin's needs change and the makeup we've always loved isn't necessarily the best fit any more. That's never more so than when it comes to choosing and applying the right base. We asked Pixiwoo's Sam and Nic Chapman what they recommend, from foundation to primer, bronzer, blush and highlighter, to add radiance, minimise lines and cover over dark circles and pigmentation to create a dewy, glowing foundation finish.
    As they show GTG's Editorial Director Victoria Woodhall, makeup for older women is all about light layers and using targeted products only where you need them.

    Thank you so so much for creating & sharing this video with pixiewoo. I feel like pixiewoo are the the only people in the makeup community that consistently talk about dry skin and older skin care (along with every other type too!). That means so much to us dry skin people. It has been a true blessing to watch pixiewoo for 6 years now. I will watch them on whatever channel/ whomever they work with. Thank you for helping us all out- we all age ;)

    People this video is not only about the products... it's more about the tips you can get from them to use with the products you already have. You can always go to the drugstore and ask for an affordable option, so stop hating

    To everyone noting the expensive products- if you look at the key ingredients you know what to look for when you shop for more budget friendly alternatives! Ingredients work the same whether they’re in something $20 or $200

    Excellent advice and wonderful tutorial- I love Sam and Nic ❤️ this lady had very good skin tho, would love to see a mature age tutorial featuring a lady with more challenges- uneven skin tone, pigmentation, wrinkles and creases.... all the challenges one usually faces over 40 ... (I’m 47)

    Lots of people are talking about the prices and them using drugstore alternatives. 1. They sell modestly priced brushes so they're selling those in this video while giving tips on products. 2. Sounds like the most important thing you can do is go to Mac or another expert to find the perfect concealer color and formulation. Their concealers aren't cheap but run around twice what you'd pay drugstore and it will last forever. Mac artists will teach you your skin tone so you can choose more wisely your drugstore foundation/bb cream etc..

    Does anyone else notice there seems to be a widely held false assumption that if you're in your 40s and beyond, you have more disposable income and want to spend it all on super expensive cosmetics and skincare? I always find it disheartening when all the recommendations for mature skin issues are so pricey

    • @dreamscape405
      @dreamscape405 5 лет назад +9

      Agreed! Also I don't think the high end products are better when it comes to makeup. That was true when I was young, but now the drugstore products are really improving their products to compete. I find I can get the same look for much less. And when they started talking about powdering to set the makeup, I never use powder now that I'm older because it settles into my lines and makes me look 20 years older, especially under the eyes. Setting spray works much better for me as it sets while keeping my skin soft without settling into the lines.

      Britons over the age of fifty, I think it is, spend more money than those half their age. I imagine that's because younger people are paying off student loans, childcare, mortgages etc. They have a more disposable income or so I've read? Some will afford obviously some won't. But no need to fret x All these products have drugstore dupes/alternatives which are sometimes better!! All these videos here are advertising products, and are not necessarily good products or the most suitable ones to buy. I have the money and wouldn't buy any of them... Because in my opinion, they're not that good. I think there's better products,.. just watching it to see their application advice x

    I find at 78 that glowy products accentuate the lines. I've been looking for products that are dull. Wrong? Could you use a model who is much older like in their 70's as opposed to 50's? Big difference.

    I wish people would stop complaining since there are dupes for every product mentioned and plenty of RUclips vids about dupes and where to get them. You can even make your own setting and dew mist spray.

    • @perfumaphilia3246
      @perfumaphilia3246 4 года назад

      Of course there are dupes, but it's nice to get recommendations directly from makeup artists so you don't have to do all the research yourself. Finding budget products with really lovely, refined textures that work for more mature skin can be challenging and time consuming. Not everyone is well versed in makeup and may want exact product recommendations because they may not know what to look for otherwise. There are so many products on the market and it's incredibly overwhelming.

    I always find it a bit annoying when a number is put on ‘mature skin’..our skin does not change over night at 40..some people have more mature skin way before 40, some after 40... even one of the pixiwoo sisters is over 40 isn’t she..she doesn’t really look like she has mature skin, and if she does she could have done the tutorial on herself...

      You should exfoliate with a very mild exfoliate before you put on make-up or even rub your skin with a facecloth will help remove the dry skin and give you a better face base to apply make-up :)

    I am 58 with oily skin and enlarged pores. I would love some recommendations for primer, foundation and concealer that do the job of blurring pores and stay shine free without looking caky and dry but also do not fall off my face within an hour of application. Drug store prices preferred as I have spent so much money and wasted so much product without success.

    And I don't care what they're saying but you don't put powder products on top of cream products. They will grab and make it blotchy. Plus the foundation will wear of and slide around, believe me. Just use a good powder with some reflection

    I’m disappointed as once again it’s all about expensive products! Also products that just aren’t available in the UK! Such as the tatcha dewy skin mist. All of the products you suggest in a majority of your videos is high end. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love high end. But, I also enjoy drugstore. I’m absolutely loving a drugstore foundation right now, it’s become a hg for me and over taken all of my high end ones! I have a beauty room and an abundance of makeup, ( somewhere near 100 foundations I expect!) but it’s a comfortable mix between high end and drugstore! It’s about time RT started being more drugstore friendly! Considering they’re sold in the drugstore!!
