In the end, he was captain of the springboks in the world cup final 2023 after Kolisi's 10min penalty and remained captain until the end of the match. Great finish of his springboks carieer.
Bloody legend. And given how great he was for so many years, it's a real shame he had to wait so long to get in green and gold... Sidenote : it's funny no matter how old the videos where the Stormers play, there's always Brok Harris on the pitch xD.
He won the 2012 currie cup as a young captain after 11 years of no silver in the cabinet. A true leader and inspiration he deserves to be a Springbok! One of SA's GOAT's!
Ill just ask the question, but is this another guy that I think got the "Duane treatment" if you will? It seems like it took forever for Duane to even get into the Bok team, and once he managed to crack it, he went on to become a genuine Bok Legend. There is no question of the quality of Deon, and his Bok journey would sound fake it you put it in a movie script. Literally comes out of nowhere, plays a final as the backup of the backup, and captains the side en the end. Yes, I am being long winded, bur here is my ask - Are we missing a trick with talent acquisition and retention? Thank you for the video!
Oldest ever springbok debutant!! Legend of the game. Will always be remembered as such.
Really he is a legand
Thank you for the video. Deon has the heart of a lion, never gives up and was awesome in RWC2023
Must be one of the most underrated players ever.
rememebr watching him in 2013 and think 'how is this guy not a bok?'

One forgets just how long he's been playing. One of those clips showed Bekker, Habana, & Schalk
And an almost young Brok Harris !!!

Starting in times with great Hugh Bladen at the microphone :-)

Ahh the good ole days of proper Super Rugby...
Yster!!
He must have thought that it was a bad practical joke when he was selected in 2022.
