What a beautiful flower and even more buds to open soon. Now I keep hope that one day my Phrags will flower for me. Your gift plants are very cute. Looking forward to see the flower fully open. Thanks for sharing Rachel. Have a nice day !
Such a BEAUTIFUL Phrag, such a STUNNING BEAUTY:-) and your new surprise Orchids are so gorgeous too :-) thanks a million for sharing Rachel and sending you an abundance of love and heaps of happiness and Plant Power from Waterford to Wexford and have a TERRIFIC Tuesday ahead XXXX
It's good to see phrags growing 'properly' - they do come from wet areas and it's difficult to maintain the 'constant moisture level' when watering in the normal way especially when it's 'just once a week' (teehee - still remember that vid!). If/when the Laelia blooms, you're going to love it - really large blooms for the size of the plant - saw this one at a show.
Thanks, Roger. I really like this pink phrag and am so delighted that they are grown so easily. It always helps to start with flowering sized plants. Yes, really looking forward to that little laelia :)))
beautiful Phrag Rachel, I got one a year ago with the bloom ,after that never bloomed , I am very sad , now I will keep in rain water like you have kept ,thanks for sharing ,
That is sad, Chitra. I hope it will flower again for you. There are two divisions of phrags - one likes wet and the other not so much. So make sure you have a wet one before you keep it in water and good luck!
That's pretty similar to the way I grow my Miltoniopsis in winter. I keep them in a saucer of water until the water dries out and then water again. Nice flower by the way. And great new orchids. Thanks for sharing.
Well, I can grow Cattleyas so I will have to try some Phrags! I live in the Chattanooga area of Tennessee on Signal Mountain. We moved here from Nashville about four months ago and I just got into the Orchids. I absolutely love them. They bring me joy!💖🤗🐾
That phrag is so lovely :) I must have a red phrag myself ;)) you are very welcome, I wanted you to have this orchid, it's laelia Diana var coerulea. I was out of tags ;)) I'm happy it wasn't smashed on transport on that envelope. That means I can safely send small orchdis like that :) much much cheaper
Yes, it arrived quite well and lots of the roots greened up when I watered it so that was nice and the new growth is good. A little plastic earring box (or something similar) might have been a good idea to further protect the plant inside the envelope. I have just been too lazy to write the label but I have done it now. Thank you so much :))))
Meh, if only I could collect rainwater, I would stuff my space with Phrags! I can do with my Sedireas only getting distilled water in semihydro, but those ... will have to wait. But as I said on Facebook, that Phrag is a stunner! You really did well with it, but that's not surprising ... and will your Prosthechea cochleata ever stop blooming? It seems .... "desperate to reproduce", let's put it like that :D But oh well, if it gives a good show, we can live with that, can't we :D
Hi Rachael I was watching one of you're videos and it was about cattleya orchid and in that video you mentioned that you can't get hydrogen peroxide in pharmacy. Rachael you can get in in some of the Polish shops it is small white bottles 100ml but cost of them is 1.29€ if you have problems faind it let me know and I sent you them.Jelena.Clonmel.
Hello Jelena. I have found hydrogen peroxide in chemists but it is very expensive. Thank you so much for that tip about the Polish shops. I will check it out for sure next time I am in town.
Sherry, I don't know where you are in the States but I don't see why not. If you can grow cattleyas you should be able to grow phrags as the light would be similar.

Thanks, Bettina :)))
Wow it's absolutely jaw dropping gorgeous!
Thanks. I love the colour.
Beautiful Phrag! I wouldn't be surprised if it had 4 or 5 flowers before it was finished blooming.
Oooh, I like the sound of that :D :D :D
Beautiful bloom, Rachel! Love, love her colors. Have a great day!!
Thanks, Susana. Yes, I love this one. Maybe even more than the Phrag grande with whiskers. Have a nice day!

I agree. So pleased :)
Beautifull Rachael as always.
Thank you for you're videos.
Thank you :)
Beautiful! Interesting how it's kept with water in the bottom. Still swooning over that dendrobium, though. 😍
I can see where your heart lies. Thanks for watching :)
You welcome Rachael ;)

That's very interesting. Unfortunately I have given up on miltoniopsis but hats off to anyone who can grow them well!

Good for you. Hope you are happy with the move.
Lovely..Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
Thanks, Sharon.
I have to put Phragmipediums on my wish list ... I just watched a video of Wade on Phragmipedium Percei ... Thank you for the encouragement ...
Yes, I saw Wade's video yesterday. Good luck with your choice. I am sure you will love your phrag.
Beautiful. Love. Do an update Once the other flower opens, would love to see
Okey dokey :)

Shocked about the wet feet....thx for sharing prettiness and info :)
It goes against what we know for orchids, eh?
Thanks for watching.
Totally :)
Beautiful plant!! and big flower too! No spikes from my Phragmipedium Sorcerer's Apprentice , I have to wait! :(
Patience :)
Thanks, Alberto.

Yes, it would be a bit tricky if you had to buy the water. Thanks for watching :))

All Phrags with species besseae in the cross need the constant wet feet. If they have caudatum in the cross instead, they do not want wet feet.
Yes, there are two types of phrags, which I mentioned in my potting video, but you have succinctly nailed it here. Thank you :)
If you don't mind me asking Wade, how much do they run?
Hi Sherry. If this is a question for Wade you need to hit 'reply' under his comment otherwise he won't see it.
Do Phrags grow well in the States?
Sherry Walker Hi Sherry. I have a nice group of Phrags that flower reliably.

id like to have orchid friends thatsend me stuff, of course id send stuff too. boohoo
Oh dear. I'm sure it will happen if you get to know people :)
