I love Phillip Rhee since the first part. He has great style personal and in fights, and he often reminds me more of Bruce Lee. There were many idiots trying to imitate Bruce, but Phillip Rhee even though he has a little modern kind of Bruce Lee style, it's very entertaining and as beautiful to watch as Bruce Lee, because he has passion for it!

My instructor Grand Master Jae Hong Kim knows both Phillip and Simon... I walked into my instructors office one DAY and my Master was on the phone with Phillip and he let me talk to Phillip... This was in the year 2000... Long time ago....
Philip Rhee is QUALITY. Loved how he featured Tae Kwon do , Hapkido , Escrima, and Fencing in that last fight scene…he had a good stunt team to work with too-
I had no idea there were 4 of these movies, I only ever saw 1 and 2. The first one was one of my favourite films as a kid, watched it more times than I can count.
First of all the one with Will Smith's KId should have been called the Kung Fu KId and excpet for some good Martial Arts, it was a pretty bad MOvie. The first 3 Karate KId MOvies especailly the first one aren't so much Martial Art Movie, but more about the Underdog Over-coming difficult odds to Suceed. It also to do with Mentor relationship when a father - is not available. Cobra Kai also explores these issues as well a Bullying. Cobra Kai also has to do with issues of Redemption. In those KK Movies and Cobra Kai- Martial Arts are part of the story, but not the whole story.

Take the leader out as fast and ruthlessly as possible and will cause the ordinary followers to run leaving you with reduced odds. Running is a perfectly fine reaction to resolve a fight with. Aid their blocking their friends with throws or redirects that put them between you and the most dangerous members of their group. However, you do it, you have to remember that in a mass group, you will be facing a mob mentality.

Actually, it's a another Korean Martial Art called Hapkido. Phillip Rhee was a 3rd degree black belt in it when he did Best of the Best 3 and 4. Has a lot of the same strikes as Tae Kwon DO or Tang Soo Do, but has an arsenal of joint locks and takedowns that is amazing.

Tang Soo Do was heavily influenced by SHotokan Karate; Tae Kwon DO, - SHotokan, Shorin-Ryu, Okinawan Goju and Judo; Hapkido - Aiki-Jutsu. ALl also have links to traditional Korean Styles like Tae Kyeon or Soo Bahk.

Rhee has great technique and smooth moves, but at times (well, most of the time) the choreography looks more like one- step-sparring than an actual fight -- the bad guy swings, it's blocked, then he just stands there while the good guy retaliates. A lot of Van Damme fights had the same problem. If they'd combined the block with the retaliation, or removed the block completely when possible, the fights would've flowed much better...

Ray Park and Matt Mullins should get involved to team up with Tony Jaa, Alain Moussi, and Scott Adkins as Team USA Tae Kwon Do against Team Korea with Simon Rhee as Team Korea Coach and Sensei.
@@JJB11 I think that Marko Zaror should play Alex's opponent in the reboot maybe the Tim Man should play Dae Han Park originally played by Simon Rhee maybe Iko Uwais or Tiger Chen could play Travis's opponent i can see it now it would be a BADASS fight scene with Scott Adkins vs Marko Zaror again Tony Jaa vs The Tim Man would be awesome man Alain Moussi vs Iko Uwais would be fucking awesome man if Phillip Rhee does end up producing a Best of the Best reboot i hope he will be smart about it.

Rhee has great technique and smooth moves, but at times (well, most of the time) the choreography looks more like one- step-sparring than an actual fight -- the bad guy swings, it's blocked, then he just stands there while the good guy retaliates. A lot of Van Damme fights had the same problem. If they'd combined the block with the retaliation, or removed the block completely when possible, the fights would've flowed much better...
