The more I watch this AMV the more beautiful it becomes. The idea of Schrodinger's Cat expressing Hanekawa's life (her neko abberation as well as her life with her family and at school) and how Koyomi loves/cannot not love her is perfect. This AMV made me rewatch the episodes involving Hanekawa again and again. She's such a tragic person, my heart bleeds for her.
I know its silly and cliche to love 2D characters but if Hanakawa were real and I could do anything to help her, I would.
I don't think there is a difference between 2D or 3D characters. They are both fiction and not reality.

I don't understand your comment. I know she's fictional, its why I wrote "...if Hanakawa were real..." My comment was another means of expressing how well written the character is and how tragic she is.
ShizukuSeiji It was just a comment to the "I know it's silly and cliche to love 2D characters". Just wanted to state that it is as stupid as loving 3D characters.
It's beautiful isn't it? The power of art. Words on paper make the non-existent lovable. Images on screens fool us into praising the fable. I love every second of it.
Love has no dimensions. It exists outside of physical space and what we love is not simply a physical shape, though that is part of the whole The largest part of that whole is a person's words, thoughts, experiences, and connections. We can share all of these things through a phone, through a screen, through a drawing... There is no such thing as a "stupid" love. Only loves that we need to learn more from.
Well yeah. When Schrodinger proposed the hypothesis for his theory he used the scenario of a cat sealed within a box. This is why the AMV is called what it is.

My cat is called Schrödinger.
Get a second cat that looks the same and call it Schrödinger.
Exactly for that reason, so that if one channel gets taken down, he still has a good amv collection on the other channels. If he only had a couple of them then losing any one would be a great blow...
SO much feeling in this video.
I think that while the paradox was originally intended to be used in the physical sense it can also be applied philosophically. People can be both alive and dead at the same time in the philosophical sense without being hidden by a box.
In 1:26 you can see the girls shadow is a cat, there are a lot of scenes of the boy and girl together as well, 2:07 has her wearing ragged clothes while the boy has a cape, crown and fancy clothes. 2:12 the music picks up and you can see her getting slapped, it has the text "hurt heart" and she's crying and holding the guys face. The text "Nothing" and "all over" pop up around 2:42-2:46. 2:59 has "Maybe in another life".

I most certainly love reading the comments about what the video is about (I'm still trying to figure it out). I like the song, and, while many of the conversations are rather hilarious to read, some of them just do not belong on a comment section of a video from an amv. Well, to each his own. I suppose.

agreed! So basically one outcome is if Araragi goes with Hanekawa, or the other in which he doesn't. The cat dies or it lives. And of course, that life is "impossible" because according to Schrodinger you can only collapse to one reality; which ended up being the Senjougahara path...

in my intepretation this shows another world where araragi acutally goes with hanekawa
(for those who didn't watch the anime bakemonogatari, the MC (=main character) araragi paired in the end with senjougahara, leading to some events. luckily, nobody died in bake-, nise- and nekomonogatari. currently is monogatari second season running
Both. it's original philosophy was about physics in nature as you state. (physics is scientific philosophy) but the theory was later used on broader subjects. It's no longer the ground rule for the electron project, but rather a rule to follow within physics

I just saw this today at a con.....awesome.
They sound alike enough for me to have made the comparison, so I believe they do sound alike. if they didn't I wouldn't have thought of the connection in the first place.
The monogatari series is a series about a cast of characters and their interactions with supernatural abnormalities. Theses "abnormalities" are usually born from emotions or feelings of the characters themselves (IE the Tiger in the most current series the manifestation of that girls envy). The characters then go on to "deal" with these abnormalities so in short..... the characters are basically just finding ways to deal with their inner demons. Or at-least that's how I look at it ;p

The cats and characters are fading in and out, the angelic girl is not quite what it seems. The boy is thinking about the girl. The girl and the cat are one. They get closer. A fairy tail scene of the girl being saved by the prince. Reality hits harshly, she wants to be with him but can't and it is devastating. If maybe in another reality we could have been together.

Yes. Hitagi is actually in half or more of the first episode. It's called Monogatari Series: Second Season, by the way, not Zenmonogatari. And I highly suggest seeing Nekomonogatari and Nisemonogatari if you haven't already before checking it out.

For those of you wondering what the name has to do with the amv.
Schördinger was a physicist, who is most commonly known for a thought experiment called Schrödinger's Cat. The experiment basically creates a paradox in which a cat is at the same time dead and alive, because of superposition of quantum systems, but of course a cat can't be undead and alive at the same time.
This experriment is well known, because it revolutionized our understanding of quantum mechanics. Hope I could help. :)
