MR2 fans and enthusiast don't know that Toyota made a V8 MR2 called the MC8-R using a Lexus V8 from the SC400. It's a elongated MR-2 with slight body modifications to house the V8.
There is only two from 10 MC8R was sold for two people... The white one Another one in UAE with red color.. As for the engine space MC8R have 38cm longer chassis from the back .. v8 is easy to fit in.
Thanks! I started making shorter videos because my analytics showed only 40 percent was being viewed. I'm still trying to figure this youtube thing out.
Thank you! This has been a long process. There have been times I wanted to give up. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. And, I just started it up!
I'm a Muscle/Ford car guy.. So I don't know why I clicked on this video at all.. That said, you didn't disappoint!!!! I apologize for being on the ground floor here, but is that the stock MR2 transaxle? Keep at it brother...!!!
Pardon my ignorance but what make of engine is that? I see that you are using a Porsche transaxle but I didn't see any reference on what kind of engine you are using. Thanks.
Hi ! This is a GM LS based v8 (LSX) . But technically speaking it is a 5.3 LM7 iron block from an Avalanche. The intake manifold is from a 5.7 corvette. Thanks for watching : )

Wow…nice build.
Probly won't seem so nice when it needs a new serp belt, but that's later.
Thanks! Luckily no serpentine belt on this one
An MR2 done right.

Thanks !! the transmission is a 6 speed transaxle out of a porsche cayman.
Sorry, that exhaust X pipe still really bugs me. I do admire your fabrication skills and it looks like it will be a great and wild ride!
Thanks! and yes that is still on the to do list

Thank you : )
This is the first of this series Ive seen, so forgive the question if youve addressed this already, but is that a porsche transaxle?
Looks awesome btw
Yes it is! and thank you for joining the build : )
It’s no longer an MR2. The trunk and engine bay lids are gone. But hey, it’s a monster motor.
I would say this is still 40% MR2
