I love Davlina's tutorials!!!!! I love that not only do you show us how to color but you tell us the kind and the EXACT COLOR to use to color with. I cannot thank you enough!!!! Great Tutorial!!!
Wow very beautiful! It's almost like a magic trick! The way the colors change and you can still see the ring very clearly I will have to try it! Thank you so much for making this tutorial and sharing it with the world! I have watched several of your videos you are a great artist!
I'm in awe of how this turned out, will definitely be giving this idea a try, who would have thought it - I'm new to colouring so this idea is perfect for me. Tfs x
It's such a simple method but this method works as well as it does because the prismacolor pencils have a softer core and allow for beautiful blending using pressure instead of layer upon layer. Layers will work too but take a lot more time. I like how she explained the process, very straightforward for beginners to feel confident in trying; and concise without lecture for those with experience.
+Erin S. Yes, I've now tried this a few times and sometimes it works and others it doesn't I guess it depends on what colours you use with each other, and I only have a box of 48, so not enough difference sometimes lol
+Elizabeth Naisbitt your absolutely correct with some colors will not blend with each other using hard pressure. Typically using analogous colors (colors near each other like the colors Davlina used here) and starting with the darkest first and working your way up will help things go smoother but a set of 48 shouldn't restrict you from getting good blends. I can't say it's a trick but sometimes I will use white, cream or low value colors to blend the color around. Do you have the prismacolor blender pencil? If not totally get it it will help but over scrubbing will cause blooms or wax buildup. And when I'm really feeling like I want to blend without using so much pencil I use gamsol and a good blending stump to push the pigment around and mix them with eachother. Gamsol if you don't know will break the wax down and thus let you pull the pigment out and it can really smooth out your pencil lines/strokes. It can give you an expensive alcohol marker (copic) look from what I hear.
+Erin S. Thnx for the info Erin, the blender is on my wish list, for me to buy from Amazon it will cost £9.99, which is some going for just one pencil, and plus postage. lol
+Erin S. You're absolutely right. Blending will only work if you combine the right colors. Trial and error and experience will guide you in choosing the right colors. I also like using Gamsol to do my blending but I mostly use it for backgrounds. Here is a video where I explain what Gamsol is and how to use it. Please share with your friends :) ruclips.net/video/WsK0kgRCFN0/видео.html
Thank you so much for this. I just love how you color. The instructions really helped a lot. I wrote it all down as well as the color numbers. You do beautiful work.
Now if only we could fast forward our drawings! :) very simple and straight forward. I like how you kept the highlighted ring consistent with the forward flower and kept consistent with the highlight on the profiles flower. Very pretty and these colors are a go to favorite of mine for flowers because they can pack a visual punch especially when paired up with a green/blue for foliage. I just subbed I enjoyed the video.
These are beautiful color combos. I’m just starting to color with colored pencils. I just never know if I should start with a dark color and then slowly go lighter, or if I should start with a medium color, then go to a lighter color, and then the darkest color. I’ve watched so many videos. I’m not creative at and have spent hours with leaves and flowers.
I tried your techniques on the book I am coloring by Soul Coats and it was beautiful, I challenge everyone including my friends to improve on my creations. Thanks Soul Coats for creating great picutures.
You are an artist! This tutorial was so helpful and I was able to colour my flowers nicely! I really like your video and decided to subscribe! Thanks by the way!

Thank you for watching! I used prismacolor Scholar before i bought the Prismacolor Premieres. I think the scholars are great if you are tight on the budget. I have no idea about the crayolas since i never used them.
I love this technique! Thank you so much for such an easy tutorial to follow! I was wondering your thoughts on prismacolours? I currently own polychromos, but from the pictures I've seen prismas always seem so much brighter. Do you find that they break easily, and that you go through them quickly?
Thank you so much! As for your question about Prismacolors, it wouldn't be a fair comparison with Polychromos since I've never used them. However, since I started using the Prismacolor sharpener, I've never had any issue with breakage. As for going through them, I think it is because I color so much. I think Prismacolors are great for their price!
I love your tutorials. Is the Prismacolor Scholar blends better or the Premier? It seems the pencils does good blending job but you are the pro also. I am learning so much from you. What set is good to get? A set of 48 or higher to achieve? Do you use different brand pencils to get your desired colors? Thanks so much for your tutorials and what you do.
Thank you Sharmila Chakraverty. I used to use Prismacolor Scholar before I knew about Prismacolor Premiere. Prismacolor Premieres are definitely better than the Scholar. 48 Count Prismacolor Premiere is definitely not enough......at least it wasn't for me. If you have money to spend, I recommend you buy more. I ended up buying the 132 count Prismacolor Premiere. Here is the affiliate link, if you're interested: amzn.to/1XJOTcB Happy coloring!

I just found your channel, are you still making videos. Thanks you make it look easy.
Thank you!
Will be back making videos soon!
what was the first color you used
Carmine Red: PC 926
Ok thanks
Are you dipping your pencil in anything, it seems each time you begin to color you move your pencil like you may be using something with it.
Nope, i'm not dipping it in anything. I'm wiping away the wax bloom that builds up on the tip of the colored pencils while I'm coloring.
thank you tomorrow is my drawing exam
What music is this?
