A genuinely good guy and every bit up to the job. He is brilliant in his own right. Few people could have stepped into Jon Lords mighty shoes but he slipped in like he belonged there.
i'm glad don airey is in the band as the dude is a great keyboardist and he came in with everyone knowing how good he is and was given a spot few could fill. at least he got jon lord's ok and backing so that makes it cool. as long as ian paice is still around, the band will be fine.
Such a nice guy & accomplished musician in his own right.. played for Cozy Powell's Band, Colosseum II, Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Fastway, Judas Priest, UFO, Uli Jon Roth, and Saxon to name few.
Good grief, seein' that roster it's like HOLY SHIT, who has this guy not played with, considerin' how many bands and artists have brought him on to play with 'em, they must really recognize and appreciate his talent and abilities, which are CONSIDERABLE.
That's almost the understatement of the century, cripes I'd rank this guy with composers like Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart, cause he takes the best of those guys and brings it into the world of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal.
Airey is classically trained just like Lord was. He earned a degree at the University of Nottingham and a diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music. Saw him several times and he's just as good as Jon was.

Don needs to write his autobiography one day. He's got a hell of a CV. Met him once and he was the nicest guy.
