I bought my Ambrogio 4.36 Elite last year after I saw the plastic stuff in the Husqvarna 435 in your Video - unfortunately the technology of the Husqvarna is too weak for our area of application. The Ambrogio mows perfectly more than 4.500 square meters in our park garden - the quality of the mower is absolutely convincing. Greetings from Germany..
The Honda motors @ 19:40 (Husqvana) have a design flaw - the hexagonal drive block wheel hub is made of aluminium, but the wheels are mounted to it with steel mounting plates and screws. This causes electrovoltaic corrosion between the two metals: over time; the corrosion bonds the screws into the block, making it all but impossible to unscrew if you need to remove the wheels. The alloy hub becomes sacrificial and turns into white aluminium oxide powder - a lifetime limiting problem.
Off the back of this video I changed my mind from husqvarna to the Ambrogio 20 Elite, actually it was a decision I made within the first 3 minutes. It is now fitted and I love it, I genuinely don't believe another product would do my lawns as good as my 20 elite purely because of the monster wheels and body size. Thank you for all you do. Just a question, would you consider doing a tutorial on video on how to navigate around the Ambrogio app for an android phone, I have most of it working but it would be great to have each area described it what's the diference with Bluetooth and WiFi in terms of how each benifits or how do I isolate a particular lawn in the garden. So I thought it was just finding the areas till I noticed it was cutting. It is so quite you don't know it is cutting.
Interesting presentation. I have for almost 2 years, a Twenty Elite S + and am quite satisfied. My main complain is about the manual and documentation. It is incomplete and often not up to date, especially what concerns the software. At the beginning of your presentation, you mention that the software has been commented in detail somewhere else. I would like too know where. Thank you for your answer.
My Ambrogio motors got very noisy/squeaky this season, I can hear the robot 300' from the garden. Did you ever have such a complaint? I thought Ambrogio motors did not require any lubrication. Did you disassemble the Ambrogio motor to service it?
Hi, Sorry to hear about your issue, this is not an unheard of issue, sometimes it can be as simple as there is something stuck in or around the wheels, or potentially in the mow motor output shaft. During service, the robots are nearly entirely disassembled to check the gaskets and all the internal parts. This really is a great comparison. Thanks a lot for this insight. I have some questions regarding the Twenty: What do you recommend as maximum area for the Twenty Elite S+ model? Did you already test the new Twenty ZR? Is this really working without perimeter wire? Same area as the Elite S+? Ambrogio 4.0 is a lot more expensive than the Twenty. Is there anything in between these two models you can recommend? Thanks!
Hi Martin, Glad you liked the video. The Twenty Elite S+ has a max area of 1300m2. We have had the ZR and been testing and it is very good, there are times a wired installation would still be a better option but in simpler layouts it is a genuine contender. It is the same area as the Twenty Elite (not S+) so can mow up to 1000m2. There is a significant step up in the build and features from a Twenty to a 4.0, to get specifics on this for you, I suggest you give us or your local Ambrogio dealer a call to talk more in depth about the differences that might be relevant to you and your garden.
@@mowermagic yes of course, I am in contact with a local dealer. But in his opinion the Twenty even S+ is to small for our 650m2. I also heard that it would run 5 days a week for 8hours each which seems to be quite long. So I considered the 4.0 Basic over the Twenty. Another dealer informed me about a new Twenty 25 and 29 which will come 2022. My garden is total flat with some trees so I wouldn‘t need the super solid but quite expensive 4.0.
@@martinwolf2619 Obviously without seeing your garden it is difficult to say but the Ambrogio spec for max areas are accurate so they can cut lawns up to their max on a straight forward lawn. They are designed to run for many hours and cut little and often but if you want it out on your lawn less, a larger model will spend less time on the lawn. If this is the case then the new Twenty25 or Twenty29 models might be a good option as they are an upscaled version of the current Twenty range.

Does anything changed in 2024? Because according to the doc, the Ambrogio Twenty Deluxe need a perimeter wire while the Honda Miimo HRM 40 doesn't. Seems weird to compare those two then. I have experience in setting up a perimeter wire. This is nightmare and if you really want to take care of your lawn by using a scarifier from time to time, it is impossible for cable. All this to say, I wouldn't care to have a lower built quality like the Honda if it saves me from having to deal with this perimeter wire.
Hi there, thanks for your comment! After a closer inspection, the Honda Miimo HRM 40 still needs a perimeter wire, according to their online website. When setting up the perimeter wire, we don't usually have problems with scarifying, but it can vary from lawn to lawn, and how the wire has been laid.
I have an electric push mower and it's highest cut setting is not higher enough while it's lowest setting is unusable as it drags the deck against the ground. Weird oversight. We have a Roomba vacuum and I love it... It makes sweeping unnecessary so I may get one of these boys.
If you're in the US, there are high cut versions of certain models due to the different types of grass that have a much higher cut height. Get in touch with Max Distributing in Oregon - they're the importer for USA and can give you specs and point you to a retailer.

My 435 AWD has been in repair shop for 3 months now. I am paying monthly payments on my automower on top of monthly payments to a local lawn service. The company is completely unresponsive and unsympathetic to my situation. How long is too long for a repair? This was a known factory defect. European customers were compensated with cash payments. If this were a new car purchase the dealer would provide a loaner. I don’t understand how husqvarna can stand by these business practices. DO NOT BUY AN AUTOMOWER
I must say its been quite some time since I've heard such misguided twoddle. The author seems to have no idea of the 260 page standards document which governs the safe design and use of these robot. I haven't got all day to define all that is wrong with the Ambrogio but @Mower Magic shouldn't be over looking this. Video seems utterly bias, sponsored? 1. Ambrogio uses a solid blade. Meant to be a limiting amount of impact force should the cutter strike something solid, (like a finger). That's why all reputable brands like Bosch/Honda use swing blades 2. Swing blades are quieter as solid blades are easily permanently distorted if they encounter an object. 3. The overhang of the body of the mower is deliberate to prevent fingers from reaching the cutter so easily. Ambrogio is not fussed about this it seems. 4. Ambrogio charges faster but it works the battery's harder with a higher charging current. Users might need to change the packs out more often which is an additional expense. 5. The articulating body is a gimmick and in the real world if your lawn is that bumpy, you have other issues! 6. The comments on impact force with non-movable body sensing is rubbish. The standards dictate a max impact force should you hit something like a baby's head. Bosch/Honda simply does it a different way. 7. No reference to the Logicut smart mapping and better quality of lawn finish offered my the Honda. The Ambrogio is a basic random mower and the lawn finish is not liked by all. Not convinced on coverage times too, they seem very off.
Where are these standards set? 260 pages of standards... Yet plenty of mowers have some of these features. If there is set standards surely these wouldn't be on the international market. I'd actually like to read the standards.
Any mower’s manual says there must be no living soul around working robot, no matter which manufacturer. Thin swing blades are prone to crack off and cut feet (happened to Husky). Noise difference between all robots is few dBs and none of the actual owners have ever complained about this. Also Ambrogios tend to do their work quick and stay all the time at the station so even less overall noise pollution. All robots of all manufacturers pass the same safety standards and tests with child feet models, so forget the “distance” things. Articulating body is not a gimmick as it evens the load on front wheel which is the typical reason of robots getting stuck during turning maneuvers (install several hundred of them and you will see). Max impact force standards dictate Joules, not baby’s head. They’re made considering robot’s ability to drop down a small kid. Anyway some robots have decreased running speed to reduce this number, namely the ones with non movable bodies. As for batteries - ZCS robots typically have long runtimes and high driving speed which result in several times lower number of cycles per year with very high productivity . That is why they have the longest lasting batteries on the market.
