  • In this episode we move from the middle of the book to the beginning to better understand the players and their needs. First of all, we consider the meta needs including the book (available from www.peginc.com #pinnacle), dice (available from Game Science www.gamescience.com/ #gamescience). Then we look at our players and their needs in character creation. We'll dive more into character creation in the coming weeks. #rpg #ttrpg #dnd #savageworlds #gamemaster #player

Yo Mason! I bought the Pathfinder for Savage Worlds core book, bestiary, power cards and action cards. Any tips for running with miniatures and terrain?

As for miniatures and terrain, still try to remember it's an abstracted game. But, those two tools do give a nice approximation of what is in front of the players. Sometimes I forget cover, and my players forget it too. If you have cover, you are going to find yourself a lot harder to hit. I always use my Chessex Battlemat more for the approximate layout. But, if we're, say, in a blacksmith's workshop, I'll give a benny to the Player who asks, "Can I take a pair of tongs off the wall to use in jamming the door to keep the zombie hoards out a little longer?" And my answer will be yes. So, don't stress over having too great of a map or terrain. Make sure they don't slow you up too much. But, if adding them in helps your players have a better time, then, by all means, include them.
