Join us on this virtual city walk IN the historic heart of Valletta, Malta, with fortresses, cathedrals, red phone boxes and fountains as our companions.
Even if you have only one day in Valletta, you can still see the top 10 things to do in Malta.
This Winter Walking Tour in Valletta Malta, will walk you through history.
So of all the Beautiful Destinations: A Malta: Valletta City Break has to be one of the top 10.
We start at the restaurants and bars of Old Theatre Street before moving into St George's Square.
Following Republic Street, we encounter Republic Square and the Great Siege Monument 1565. We are then welcomed by the bells of St John's Cathedral as we pass into Merchants Street before taking St Lucia's Street. With the stunning view of Sta. Lucija before us, we descend the old steps onto Lvant and the old city walls.
We pass Victoria Gate and gaze out to the harbour before passing the Grand Harbour Hotel and Hotel British before our ascent back up past the Saluting Battery and onto Castille Place and a view of the Auberge Castille.
We continue to the Royal Opera House, past the New Parliament Building and exit through the grand Valletta City gate towards the renovated plaza and the Triton Fountain.

As a daughter of a Maltese father growing up in Australia (Dad emigrated to Australia at 18) now at 43 I love my maltese traits like eating bread tomato puree tuna olives. I adore pastizzi it's our little hidden food gem. If I say remember drinking Milk in the 80s/90s you know what I'm talking about it was like water 🤣. I grew up eating Fenek thinking everyone had at least tried it (mistake 1). Malta is my little slice of home as an Aussie living in London and when it comes to Eurovision...

Valletta and some of the other older cities are really wonderful. Unfortunately the developers are trying to turn every square metre of land into apartment blocks or, if in ODZ areas, filling stations!
Nobody in the planning authority is able to ay NO!

I'm guessing that was filmed early morning on a Sunday. So few tourists around and that view from the cafe over the harbour...wow!
Good question Des, I can't honestly remember, but it was out of season in Feb' so didn't get much busier than this.

I’m living in New Zealand now and not been back to the UK yet, but seeing this video made me feel homesick for Malta!

Been to Valletta twice many years ago.Must have walked round with my eyes shut.Remember the harbour and going into a church.That’s all...Wish I had seen the beautiful fountain at the end of the film.I do remember the people were very friendly...Now I must watch the one on Mdina as that is where we stayed.Thanks a lot.

surely one of the best video's of modern Valletta. other places of interests in Valletta not in this video: Upper and Lower Barrakka gardens, Hasting gardens overlooking Tritonfountain square, Barbara Bastion overlooking the grand harbour, Independence square where the anglican church and auberge d'Aragon are situated and around the bastions of Valletta including the city gate ditches and the modern lift going straight up to Upper Barrakka from Lascaris Wharf and Victoria Gate on your way to the Grand Harbour.

Got to Visit Malta 2x (Navy) This was my 1st stop on my first, six month deployment!! !! The day time was beautiful and unsuspecting! not sure how it is these days..but when that sun went down, all the string lights came on and clubs seem to appear out of nowhere. I remember being in the Hard Rock Cafe early evening, when we back came outside of Hard Rock it looked like Mardi Gras in louisiana. This was on a regular weekday night!! I believe most of the ladies I met were a mixture of Sicilian and French, Absolutely stunning!! I will be returning soon to actually tour the place, instead of party, I'm an adult now! 😇 hahaha. Great video brings back wonderful memories! Veteran USN 🏆😇 God Bless! 😇 🏆
