The Traxxas Trx6 just keeps breaking the rules... I don't think a lot of folks thought it would be as good of a crawler as it is, or be just a fun bash vehicle.... Now you guys are trying to break the speed limit with it... wow. What a great monthly mayhem.. Cheers mate 👍
Dude! That hit made me hurt. Back in '08 I caught 1/8 Truggie in the side of my right foot on the long end of the straight. Two broken metatarsals. Fun toys, yeah it's real when it's that kind of wrong.
Way to go bro, stoked for ya! Haven't watched Matt's video yet...but either way 60mph with a off-road 6x6 is a hell of an accomplishment. Best mayhem yet!!!
OK, So do it for Dale, Murica! That Means Harley and Cleetus, or is that Josh and Garrett? Either way you need Bald Eagles to beat a Tractor 🚜. (Remember though where Lamborghini came from)
I feel like the access panel you made on the bottom is like the panel that pops of in fast in the furious movie when he gets the damage to manifold screen when hitting his second shot of nos lol
Make plates to cover the sides of the rear wheels. That would help smooth out the turbulent flow from them and decrease the aero drag by a good amount .
I just went thru Sacramento Monday and the smoke was pretty strong. From almost the bay to Nebraska really since Colorado’s fires smoke is blowing up that way. Crazy. Nice progress there.
Glad to see it's off the donk and back on the hoosiers! Looks mean with those tires now! Let's see this thing hit 65! Throw another cell in the battery tray! Fun fact, Kevin Talbot over in the UK has a TRX4 on normal crawler tires that'll run this fast.....and all he did was shove a 3s Castle system in it and then yeet 6s at that. 'Course his is nearly uncontrollable, but still.
@@HarleyDesignsInc The mad crazy jumps he was doing with his seem to imply it was absolutely moving. You'd think it wouldn't fly that far. HE never GPS'd it though. Might be interesting to see what his response would be if he saw your finished product. Yours is by far the better rig, you and Matt's both. Actually engineered to go fast and be controllable, rather than simply 'haha castle system goes brrr' Keep up the lunacy I love seeing crawlers go way too fast and still be controllable!
I wonder if we could do speed runs with the old tether car setup? Limit the wrecks and could record slo-motion, and also maybe do it in under a vacuum to limit friction just a crazy thought
SO.... Josh..... Was it worth the busted up foot?? 😲 Also - are you two doing unwitting research for Traxxas - to produce a 6X6 SPEED MACHINE!! 😂😜 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Ever watch a dirt oval stock car race? Open all the windows, couple 3 bars in front of the driver, and open up the grill. Let that air flow through. Cool the motor/ESC and reduce your frontal area by a ton. Just a thought.
You ever take a high speed fan and do a slip stream test with smoke to see where the drag is. Bet that make good video, I'd watch for sure I'd love to see where the resistance is. Bet it swirls off the tailgate pulling it back like vacume.
Since it's a TRX, you need to find that ol image of george Bush on the back of a T-rex waving an American flag, photoshop your face on it, and use it as the backdrop for your contest photo
Trucks looking nice grats on 60 MPH here's a idea run one of your high amp battery to save weight or 2 in parallel u will get more out of it keep up great work
The front of that thing is one giant airbrake. Google the “Tango & Cash truck”. Basically a GMC pickup, with a windshield extended out to the leading edge of the hood.
The small few inch section in the middle is the only flat area, it’s not a big enough deal to do much different. Style points matter so doing a goofy front scoop or cone is an absolute pass! 😂
Harley Designs You do you of course. Hold the palm of your hand out the window facing the wind next time you’re doing 60 on the highway though. It’s about the same size has your windshield on this truck. You’ll feel what I mean. Used to build 100 mph gen 1 E-Maxx speed run trucks in the early 2000s. 50+ mph you really start seeing drag from flat vertical surfaces starting to become a real issue. You can muscle your way to a 63 mph goal with modern equipment, so this isn’t an argument. I’m confident you can do it successfully your way, but I definitely needed to switch from truck bodies to muscle car and exotic sports car bodies to get that old twin engined E-Maxx to go much past 65 without burning things up, lol. Good times.
@@bradstevens8396 Oh the shape of the body in general there isn't much I can do about that. The front air dam is about all I can change. Since style points matter, there just isn't any way I'd put a big cone or ramp on it is all. We have to use this body and only mild trimming is allowed to it per the rules.
Yeah, you’ll do fine within the rules. Equipment is much more high performance these days with brushless and big batteries. (I’m just on an “old man story telling time” rocking chair trip now. 😂😂😂)
Both rear axles have to be driven per the rules. Style points matter quite a lot and removing the windshield would look poor, so I won't be going that route.
@@HarleyDesignsInc something like this might have a rear mounted radiator in full scale, that look could be used to create a vacuum in the body with a good fan and extract any "extra" turbulent air that would otherwise be blowing out the wheel wells etc, you could make your own wind tunnel very cheaply to test any theories you have for viable improvements. Good luck, i think yours looks better for sure
I don’t know it this motor is capable of pulling more than the battery is giving. I think the real limit is the watt output of the motor. That is what limits a motor, that will be the real battle.
Remove the grill and 3d print a tube from the grill to the motor or the head lights, make it rwd and remove the gear shift servos.
I cover removing the servos in this episode and show all the details. Making it RWD was discussed but stability could be lost.
@@HarleyDesignsInc good luck

Truck is looking sick, Josh! Bet it felt as sharp as it looks. 😬😁
Dude! That hit made me hurt. Back in '08 I caught 1/8 Truggie in the side of my right foot on the long end of the straight. Two broken metatarsals. Fun toys, yeah it's real when it's that kind of wrong.
For the graphics, working the “Snail Builder’s Guild” idea in would be funny, maybe with Uncle Sam “salting” the snail or something?
RUFF
Roooooooof!
Looks really slick. Great job on hitting the 60MPH.
Slam the roof line...And lower the rollbar...Many style points!
It’s a lexan body... slamming the roof would just never look right 🙃
Ankles and Rc cars best friends since 1982!
You and Matt have crushed the internet with this series! Congrats on hitting the big SIX-OH! 🏁🏁🏁
Yessir i absolutely love it cant wait to see trx3 intimadator YOUR CRUSHING THIS 4 MURICA 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
This is heating up! Another fun series of Mayhem Josh....cannot wait for next week!
I’m pumped too!!

The carbon fiber wrap is a cool touch, very nice. 👍
Totally enjoying this!! Not something I would ever want to build but absolutely enjoying watching!!
Man that thing looks good! Especially with those hoosier tires!
OK, So do it for Dale, Murica!
That Means Harley and Cleetus, or is that Josh and Garrett? Either way you need Bald Eagles to beat a Tractor 🚜. (Remember though where Lamborghini came from)
Looking good Josh. This is super cool. I will be watching
I'm loving this series guys, great entertainment and content thank you
That’s freakin awesome, I’ve got a trx6 I’ve never thought about getting it to 60. Hell I made the back tires dually. Awesome!!!
Keep up the good work. I think the Hoosier tires look awesome as well.
At least your frame didn’t bend 😂
Don’t feel bad, i hit my ankle with the felony when i did the unboxing of my hobby shops demo car 🤣🤣
I feel like the access panel you made on the bottom is like the panel that pops of in fast in the furious movie when he gets the damage to manifold screen when hitting his second shot of nos lol
I thought Matt was doing bad this week but his feet work, good fun to watch, thanks
Can remove the seals on some of the bearing that are on the inside to reduce some resistance
However it ends, your truck looks sick. Great body add ons.
Make plates to cover the sides of the rear wheels. That would help smooth out the turbulent flow from them and decrease the aero drag by a good amount .
However fast it ends up being, it looks big awesomeness
Damn that is insane. The motor sounds so awesome as it passes by!!!
I agree, I don’t touch the audio at all and it surprises the hell out of me every time.
Everything about this is EPIC!
That wing is sick!!!! You got this in the bag dude!

Mount Rushmore backdrop. Can’t get more American then that. 👊
Beautiful project you are working on keep up the good work.thumbs up👍
Just saw Matt’s crash, I think you’ve got this. Good work
He’s already replaced the rails, I can’t sleep on him yet! He’s going to bring everything he’s got the last week!
Canards on the front bumper sides will be needed once you fully build the rear diffuser to increase the front end down force
Splitter and canards are my plan.
@@HarleyDesignsInc nice, really enjoying this battle great job 👍
I just need a bashable rugged version of the tyco rc scorcher 6x6.
🧟♂️LOOKS APOCALYPTIC! 💪🏼😎👍🏼
KILLER BUILD BRO!!!
It looks so tuff lowered with all
of your body mods and the slicks.
19t pinion 35pitch spur make the rear wing wider and put a defuzer on the rear...👍
dude... the shot with the plane was "CHOICE"
U should put ceramic bearings in the car so it could go faster!! Could help a lot!! Hope u get a faster mph!!!
LOL... I was gitty when I hit 15MPH with my TRX6.
USA BABY!!!!!!!
the best rc this year .. .
Right on Josh!! Do it for DALE!! Yeeeeeehaaw!!
Ahhh that's why I like 👍
Congrats on hitting the 60mph! great job
TUMBLE WUMBLE MATT BUMBLED AND FUMBLED! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome job on the aero! That thing looks fantastic.
Matt bent the whole frame🤣🤣

I don’t he actually ever hit any speed close to this. I think he just says it can because of ballooning tires.
@@HarleyDesignsInc The mad crazy jumps he was doing with his seem to imply it was absolutely moving. You'd think it wouldn't fly that far. HE never GPS'd it though.

The restrictions/rules made this such a close competition. I know it's a lot of work, but too bad it's ending so soon.
Yeah the rule set for this challenge was dead on! Making for a fantastic series.
@@HarleyDesignsInc not to take anything away from the others but this one was my favorite. Great job.
This is turning out to be such a cool contest.
Loving the look so far! Nice work
SO.... Josh..... Was it worth the busted up foot?? 😲

The front air dam should be a splitter. It needs a blade to help split the air and send it up and around the front dam.
The rig is looking great! Good job man!
Maybe make up some canards for the front corners. Might keep the nose down without adding serious front downforce
That’s right in line with my plan.

I’ve been thinking on the grill, but I don’t think
I’ll remove all the windows. I don’t think the body will hold up in a crash like that.
Yours wins in looks dept hands down far more scale looking
I have to say I think you truck looks better then Matt’s. My vote goes to you for style points.
Me too i like Matt's too tho this just more my style

Dang that had to hurt bummmer bro
Reminds me of a bosozoku style now
ceramic berrings my frind just did some testin in my stock m07 just changing the berrings went from 3600rpm to the wheel to 3800 rpm
Looks meeeeean with the new hoosiers👌🏼👌🏼😎
Great vid brother! Great job on truck love the look👍
Hoonicorn style burnout. Chained up beast. Use a smoke machine.. oh and American flags off the back
Over 55mph and weird things start to happen to crawlers becomes a stability thing after that
I feel the pain bro my Rustler4x4 into my shin full speed two days ago have three different cuts and a baseball size bruise
Can you shorten the legs of the rear roll bar to get it down behind the cab more?
Trucks looking nice grats on 60 MPH here's a idea run one of your high amp battery to save weight or 2 in parallel u will get more out of it keep up great work
We have to use Traxxas batteries.
You should try to run it with no body.
Oh i hit myself with my udr too.
That trx6 just looks fast. I know it is fast but it looks really fast.
Wind tunnel! Wind tunnel!
Passionate I love it:) what do you enjoy more fabricating or testing;)
Design and fabrication is my favorite for sure! Testing is short and sweet, gives the reward without spending hours on it.
Good job!! That thing is badass bro but why dont you switch to 6s or 8s lipo? That would be sick
Do you keeptrack of how much weight you removed and added. current vs original weight?
Btw you can disconnect the front drive axle right? Have you tried it yet for giggles and grins?
I can do that, I’m just worried about losing control without the front drive.
Harley Designs That could very well be the case but it might give you 5+ mph too... who knows right? :-) Rootin for ya buddy!

How are you getting RPM telemetry? I'm struggling with it on my trx4.
The VXL 8s shows the data thru the Traxxas app. However it will only work with brushless motors.
The sound it makes going by the camera is great it sounds like a jet car
Noooo!!! Never speed run near curbs. RC’s love curbs!!!
