- We got a new game announced from bandai namco, dragon ball sparking zero. However, you might of been told to be worried about db sparking zero because of the fact that spike chunsoft is the developer behind this game. Spike chunsoft has developed what some would call mediocre games at best and have become a meme. I do have faith in spike chunsoft and believe they can develop a robust game. What we should worry about is the gameplay, story, online, and roster for sparking zero.

My concerns would be:
- No offline versus
- Lack of story consistency/missing major battle
- Game crashing bugs
- Missing little cool effects based off of a character's costume (example Roshi not being affected by solar flare with his sunglasses still on)
- hit detection issues
- No penalties for rage quitters online

No one said there wouldn't be offline versus. What was said is that there wont be offline local multiplayer. Versus mode will obvious be there offline

Im not worried at all about Sparking Zero. This game had 5 years im development. They promise us a „historic“ roster. This could be THE Dragonball Game to rule em all.
5 years of development yet unreal engine 5 came out 1.2 years ago

@@serpant333 And Greninja and Incineroar were decided for Smash Bros. before they were ever revealed to the public. Because of Bandai Namco being big names in the industry, they have had some early access to some materials.
@@therealpat_they claim that the game is still in early development, im not a genius when it comes to game development but switching engines isn’t as easy as moving files
@@serpant333I’m not 100% sure how easy it is, but they could have ported over a ton of assets and coding from UE4 once UE5 came out. I’ve seen people mix and match coding from completely different engines, so it’s feasible.
Shit honestly spike made raging blast 2. That alone makes me feel secure. That game better than any trash yall like by far idgaf what yall say

I remember finding the fighting mechanics to RB to be better though, from raging soul to characters feeling more unique from one another.. anyways my biggest concern of the new game is if it really doesn’t have local multiplayer then, I won’t even be getting it -__-
i feel that. i liked the movement of bt3, but the mechanics of rb2.
The only thing I’m worried about for SZ is how they handle DLC. But seeing how they are talking up their base roster size quite a bit, I’m not quite as worried as I was pre-trailer drop.
dlc could be done well but you right, how will it get handled
The game looks perfect already. I see no flaws. My only concern is not having local play. I was gonna gather the boys like the good old days on launch to have a tournament style play party.

My biggest concerns are as follows
-No split screen
-No Beam clash
-No orange piccolo
-Horrible online connection

I’m worried in general. Modern db games care about micro transactions than anything and I hate that it’s something we just have to acccept

I’m not worried in the slightest because a lot of people don’t realize that the lead devs of the Tenkaichi/Sparking games worked on One Piece, OPM, JF and so on. So it’s likely a situation of Spike Chunsoft *returning* to what they know best, Tenkaichi combat.
or its bandai finally letting them make a game with good combat and given the budget and time to do so
The reason their games like Jump Force were so horrible is cuz they invested their time and money into Sparking Zero all the time.

@@makaisaiyan Of course they were. Jump Force was still in development while development for Sparking Zero already started. For that they had to invest time and money into it beforehand.

@@makaisaiyan How else is it supposed to work? There is a limit to the amount of developers they have and also a limit to how much they can pay them. If they focused most of their developers to develop on SZ then then they had less less devs available for their other games.
I'm not worried and here's why. Due to it being a remake essentially to one of the, if not THE best dragon ball game series of all time. If they somehow mess this game up dragon ball fans would lose all hope for the franchise, It's just that good. No doubt they know the expectation they put themselves on. And not going to lie seeing from the interviews, and the trailers, not to also mention the 5 years of development this is clearly more than just a game to them.
its not a remake though, its a sequel or rather a continuation

I had the same worry honestly. I played jump force and one punch man and thought they were let downs cause of how cheap the graphics looked and how unbalanced the combat was. This game does look real good and they spent 5 year's on it so I'm hoping this will be the game that redeems spike chunsoft.

@@Mysterious.phanto yeah, 5 years in development means it began before jump force and the OPM game, so yeah they had those awful games as side-quests while they put all their workforce into BT4. They were awful because all the resources probably went for this game.
Everyone in this thread here, I bet that Spike Chunsoft itself already know they wouldn't handle either of these 2 due to next game of their favorite franchise (BD Budokai/Sparkling series) being on works, so they handle the Shonen Jump crossover project to CyberConnect2 (don't mind its details from its actual leaks, mind that the leaks itself is subject to change but better, and I bet it'll announce it at Jump Festa 2024 since it wasn't announced at The Game Awards 2023)

I agree this could set a standard in the arena fighter and anime game segment of the gaming that Giving the devs time to cook so they can make quality games instead of cheap cash grabs.
Spike was good at making sparking and raging blast games.. The others have been ass because they stepped out of what they know. Trust they know how to make budokai tenkaichi and they have had 5 years to cook. It will be good

As an aside I will disagree about RB mechanics being dumbed down at least for 2. While it was different mechanically from BT there was a lot of combo depth and ended up making each character play differently especially with their own specific attacks.
Sparking Zero could probably have potential differences to the older games but they can always introduce new ideas to the table for mechanical depth just like RB2
I heard the same for raging blast and I believe for BT2 had more depth than BT3 and more competitive fighter of the two or BT3 just removed stuff maybe because of disk space
from what i heard, rhymestyle it was dumped down but for me raging blast 2 specifically too skill to play and had mechanics

Indeed BT2 is the best Tenkaichi game, hands down!
This game was 5 years in development, actually looks like DBT gameplay and is implied to have an insanely large roster plus the game just overall looks well developed and not rushed and it doesn’t seem like they’re being rushed cuz even after 9 months after the original teaser we still don’t have a release date yet. I doubt they’re gonna screw this game up.

The thing is, My worry wasn't that Spike Chunsoft was the developer, in fact, it's the opposite, I was worried they wouldn't be the ones working on it, I know what some might say (they recent games are shit, ect. ) but at the end of the day, they (at least the Spike half) were the one who made the Tenkaichi Seriesin the first place, they know thier shit better than others
i wanted them to be the devs so they can prove that they can make a fire game
The problem with this is simply that the Spike from 2007 that developed TK3 is not the same as the Spike now. Not that many people, almost no one really, that worked on BT3 is still with Spike.

@@makaisaiyan facts Bandai has been present for everything like how can't you play with your friends in Storm connection it's been in the previous game why doesn't every online fighting games have like a checklist for things people usually want by now like a spectator mode like that isn't one of the most asked thing for most of these anime games because they should be standard feature

My concern is that we won’t be able to play the Dragon ball Story and Most of the Roster being DLC

Literally, Split Local Multiplayer Is shown in this literal trailer! Between Goku/Kakarot fighting Vegeta! An at the bottom of the bikini bottom of the trailer screen it literally says actually gameplay + cutscenes = Local Multiplayer Split aka in the trailer it literally does split screen for literally a split second 🤘😎🤘! #SuperSaiyanSenses
My biggest concern is the feeling of the combat, they say all this stuff about how realistic it should feel and it can certainly look that way but not actually feel it once you play

They have good programmers, but focus on beauty rather than solid gameplay ] Technical presentation? Yes, it looks great and now? [. You can see that the last three games were just cash grabs.
Xenoverse is the worst series ever made.
Fighter Z is not a Dragonball game, it's a SF with Dragonball characters and nothing more.

with all resoect to your video and what you do, rememebr its just a short gameplay trailer with showing some of what you can expect in the game. like tbh i get most had there own opinions but what or who is making the game shouldnt honestly matter but as from a true dbz fan, the main thing that should matter is the game is coming. A brand new finally good dbz game which hadnt been getting the love like naruto games been getting over the years you know. plus again they said thereself that the game has been working in development for 5 years ! I'm worried... From what they showed us, I hope that's old gameplay. If it is not better than or equal to xenoverse 2's fighting and movement? Might be in trouble. Yes, xenoverse fighting is in no way perfect. Especially when you deal with cheap players. But the stuns? The z vanish into a stun? How I in some way feel like a dragon Ball character. Not to mention EACH character having their own stun and in between. It just took more work than what they're showing. It honestly looks like an upgraded Raging blast 2, and that's not a good thing. If you're gonna do a 4th installment of a damn near masterpiece of it's time? Do it right. So I'm worried yeah.. for now.

@@makaisaiyannot exactly. What I’m saying is, from what we’re seeing, it looks more like a DBZ Jump force type game, than a tenkaichi fighting game. It looked really dry. Why keep showing them teleport behind each other? And even that didn’t look good. Their trying to make it so you can recreate the anime more than probably fighting it seems. Like visual effects etc. (Which is absolutely fine, and I’m excited for..) But work on and nail the COMBAT first! It’s 2023, it shouldn’t be that hard, especially if you had a DBZ Kakarot as a base. If they even went that route, I would’ve been okay. 5 years development? How much of that time was for combat? Like I said, I’m worried about this game. Do not kick your feet up just yet everyone.

They never have added manga characters to any dragon ball game besides the phone games so I highly doubt there will be manga content, it’s just common sense
@@dripku954 there was a recent interview with the Dragon Ball games producer, when asked if we would see manga characters in the games going down the line he winked and said he can't talk about it right now, It's a very high possibility considering we haven't had the anime in years
