In my opinion the big thing that killed the franchise are the physics change in Rising. With the level editor, one of the big thing in the community were Ninja track, pushing the limit of what possible. And lets just say most people did not like the physic in Rising, and I know a big chunk of people just went back to Fusion instead. There is a reason the community is just making more content for Trials Fusion, despite the server being on its last legs, then Rising The Fusion server were broken for a long time, but recently were fixed and the community as just been breaking the limit of what is humanly possible in this game. Recently players uploading video of them beating Ninja Level 8 and 9, and 0 faulting Ninja 7, absolutely insane stuff
One thing that was not even mentioned in this review is how they changed the physics of the bike. The bike is much less agile making it feel a lot less arcadish. In order to fix tire glitches, they made magnetic wheels which instantly killed a lot of ninja techniques from being executed as smoothly as it's predecessors. All of this has held almost all ninja players who were active since Trials Evolution from ever playing Trials Rising.
There are some rebuttals that I have to make: 1. When you complained about the map being filled with random shit, just use the filter that they built in to make navigation easier. 2. If you truly hate racing with random people, just turn it off in settings. 3. It turns out the loading part isn't a you problem but it's the game struggling to find people that match your skill to fix it just turn off ghosts in settings 4. Take the time to actually appreciate some of the most unique vehicles you're ever gonna see. For example, you can ride a shopping cart in this game or even the tandem which is a two player bike obviously. 5. The fact that they took the time to visualize and use real life places for their game is extremely unique for this franchise. 6. The loot crates are extremely easy to unlock. All it takes is to complete like 2 tasks and you level up, unlocking a loot crate. 7. Trials rising was the first game to actually introduce full customization which is very unique for the franchise. 8. I don't want to sound like a nerd but this game isn't 2D, it's 2.5D which is a 3D game but you are restricted to a 2-dimensional plane with little to no access to the 3D world. 9. The only thing that I can agree with you the most is the microtransactions. Although you earn diamond acorns through tasks and collecting squirrels, they are so annoying to deal with. 10. I don't know if you participated in any of this but they had events like Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. There were maps that had collectables and you had to find all 10 of them and once you collected all of them, you get a cool hat and I believe 15 or 20 acorns.
Great video my dude, I know you're a small channel, but if I didn't see the sub count I wouldve thought you were a much bigger channel then currently. Keep it up, keen to see where this goes !
You're not wrong that Rising is what killed the Trials Franchise (yes, it's dead, the OG devs all left, and Redlynx is working on a mobile game), but your reasons are wack af. Saying that Rising looks worse than the past games and using a stylized NPC picture as your prime reasoning is a wild take. The reason Rising sucked is 1.) The map UI. 2.) They killed the Ninja scene. 3.) Progression was confusing for a lot of people (if you were a part of the reddit when Rising released, you'd remember the dozens of posts a day asking how to unlock new tracks.) 4.) Microtransactions 5.) Tension between Redlynx and Ubi
I think you need to play Rising again. It is phenomenal. As an Evolution player on 360 I didn’t enjoy Fusion as much and Rising was the death of the series but I recently gave Rising another chance and it blew me away. The loading times are atrocious, no doubt but the quality is still there and there is so much content. I was put off by the UI and loot boxes but the game gives you plenty of premium currency through Squirrels and Contracts. The customisation of both rider and bike has never been better. It has replays and leaderboards for specific bikes on each track. I think the Designer of Rising knew Ubi were killing the franchise so they gave us everything we need to make our own endless Trials. Rising is a masterpiece. I grinded the shit out of it for over a month and just bought the complete Fusion and am very much enjoying what feels like a new game.
I play on Series X and the load times are no better than when I was on Xbox One. Evolution loads like a dream and even Fusion is pretty good but Rising can take between 30-60 seconds to load a level. You can’t tell me something is so when my own experience directly contradicts what you’re saying!
Evo was always my favourite, HD was ok but didn't play much, Fusion i didn't like much at first but got into it a bit more later on, but Rising became my favourite by far even though it has lots of annoying things about it, i loved the bike and gear customisation, the levels and the way the bike looks and handles, played it constantly for a couple of years, not played in a while though
well put. I hope that we will see another creative boom like in trials fusion, where the community builds a ton of fun and challenging levels out of passion for the silly bike game
Rising was my first Trials so... I love Rising! also I play Fusion! and... il like! but I still prefere Rising. for me Rising is very good for the speed run and Fusion for the Ninja level
Rising looks exponentially better than the other games imo. Loading times are gonna be more, it's a much more detailed game. They do get annoying sometimes but you're reaching a little. Never spent a penny on any transaction on Rising. And I've been through most of the game. I agree that there is way too much stuff going on in the menu screens in Rising. It's confusing. And it did get monotonous at times.
I respect that, I think with regards to the visuals, Fusion is just so vibrant and heightened, whereas I would argue Rising is more grounded and realistic. I can understand why you’d prefer Rising but to me the artistic direction Fusion had trumps all the other games in the franchise
Sort of, but frankly it’s been 5 years. Most of the community should be used to it at this point. Trials Rising is one game I’ve warmed up to big time in recent years.
@@TheAwkwardNugget whatever. I don’t get the hate. I played through all the official Ninjas, including Black Belt, and never had an issue with the physics.
@@RealKaiserRyu I diamond black belt n I still hate that bike magnetic wheels that literally pulls you against walls was a terrible decision if you play backwheel only tracks the hit trigger will literally activate n crash you without your front wheel even touching the ground
@@TheAwkwardNugget okay, now I kinda see the hate. The new physics basically eliminated entire track types in community tracks. Since I usually stick to the official tracks (aka the Walled Garden) I don’t see that negative effect to the physics. Now I see why the community wasn’t as hard in making tracks for this game compared to Fusion.
I am not good enough to Ninja, so I like the physics of Fusion and Rising better than HD and EVO. Now that Antii and Fatshady are gone, can the series be resurrected? I still make new tracks for Rising. It’s the most mentally stimulating editor I have ever seen, besides Farcry 2. Save Trials!
As a casual dude I never felt like the games quality fell off. I think it's only cuz I didn't play them close to each other. I did really enjoy Rising when it first came out. I'd still consider it good. But I will say I'm excited to hop back on Fusion. Blood Dragon was funny for the Meme but I didn't make it far after the first running section.
Trials Rising is great, but I do remember the progression being a slog until you unlock everything. I think that might have been patched, but as I played at launch, I don’t know. Once you get at a high level in these games, their true greatness really shows.
I had a whole big post of some points brought up in the video of unfair comparisons or odd takes but i'll just say this. In the end the pitfall of Rising is that it never hit the ground running when it released. I'd assume it's combination of the bad sentiment of Ubisoft at the time and that by the time the multiplayer game got multiplayer it had already fell in obscurity and "died".
the loading times are fine in rising if you disable ghosts in settings it should never be more than like 8 seconds. Also if you get the complete edition with the DLC you shouldn't have to replay levels for contracts to level up as long as you do the trials uni a+ when they open up. Although not as good as fusion, it was still fun especially trials uni and getting all golds on skill games and extreme tracks.
The load times are due to loading in the other characters and the servers being absolutely awful. When I first started playing Rising, the load times were fine, but they became very bad, very quickly. It's a shame, because apart from the load times, ghosts and awful challenges, I actually really like Rising. The load times make it completely unplayable though.
The thing is red lynx sold it to ubislop after evolution and then the downfall began... its so sorry i am still a big fan of the game and the huge easteregg thingi and all the community stuff. i just miss it.
Yes trials rising does have awful menu UI and Map UI, and also the customization is more in depth but extremely clunky. but the tracks are just as thought out as trials fusion and the bike physics for me feels more solid than trials fusion. trials rising has alot to offer and i prefer to play it over trials fusion unless im playing multilane tracks with friends ill play fusion.
Disagree with your take on Rising. It's my favorite out of the franchise. However, I do agree that Rising's loading time and UI are horrible. It's the worst out of the franchise. The game itself though, is what makes it worth it for me. Don't get me wrong, Fusion is a great game and I still play that one as well, but I think I like Rising's physics a bit better overall.

Yeah, in order to buy all the track packs and bikes you basically have to pay for the acorns, which is what I did and didn’t mind, considering this game didn’t sell too well.
