American Family's SPECIAL Filipino Palm Sunday to Start The Holy Week!

- Why is the Holy Week so special in the Philippines? We were able to experience and find the answer for ourselves. On Palm Sunday, we woke up early to join our Filipino brothers and sisters as we attended a Catholic Mass with them. It was really cool to see the Palaspas palm leaves that so many were waving in the air, symbolic of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
After the Catholic Mass, we attended a ward congregation of our church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was wonderful to worship and sing with our fellow saints. Later on, we worshiped God and Jesus Christ by watching a video of Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem and discussing that as a family.
We are grateful for this special day and week that we will be able to experience.

It's refreshing to see vloggers being okay with showing the spiritual aspect of their lives, aside from the regular contents. Whatever one's religion is, it should be normalized. No one has to be shy or afraid of their faith, and no one has to also impose it to someone else.

sad to say, there are born-again Christians who criticize the Catholics a lot. i mean we believe in the same God. we all believe in Jesus. at the end of the day, we will all be judged by our actions, not by our religion right? God bless you Backman family!

If you want to experience Filipino Holy Week (usually for Catholics), I suggest you visit the Holy Wednesday Procession at the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Abandoned in Marikina City. The Holy Wednesday procession will feature about 80 carrozas (floats) depicting the passion and death of Christ. This will be at 7 pm Wednesday, March 27. For Holy Thursday, Catholics usually go on what we call Visita Iglesia (Church Visit) where we visit about 7 churches to commemorate the passion of Christ. A bigger procession is usually held every Holy Friday.

I adore this family for this reason. So grateful and considerate of different faiths. As for me, I am genuinely delighted to see Mormon missionaries in our area, whether they are Americans, Filipinos, or people from other countries. I simply genuinely respect LDS. Actually, I attended the whole Tabernacle Choir concert in the Mall of Asia Arena on February 25. My officemate encouraged me to attend in person ❤

As a former Sunday school teacher it's a wonder to see my children attend Sunday school by the teachers I taught when they were young.
