Absolutely. A leader of a large church, read private messages to the congregation, called for them to shun Mark, basically, and said Mark was doing this to promote his book, his agenda. I guess John says and does whatever he wants, truth or not, because he is anointed.
John Lindell is PERVERSE I tried to call him up and all his phone numbers were defeoned to the church ALL OF IT gotta have a porn problem Somewhere there is a very evil open door to the satanic "adam henry".
💥My decernment radar exploded with righteous anger seeing John Lindell behavior! He was being convicted by the holy spirit and needs prayer😮 Standing with Mark Driscol on this was a teaching moment and that is why he was there!🙏🏽
Then, after all was "settled", John doubled down. He stated the performer was born again, had children, etc. The performer made a video stating all the lies Lindell told about him. He's not born again, has no children, etc. That's all i need to know about Lindell's character. Smh
He also said, "Alex participated in worship at every opportunity." Also, "A JRC host witnessed Alex boldly sharing his faith at the airport." Okay. Sure. I would love to know who that was. It is all vey James Riverish: save face; we are always right.
Lindell put jezebel before these men. Driscoll humbly called it out. Instead of Lindell seeing the wrong in this and asking for forgiveness before the men, he grew angry and prideful against Driscoll and asked him to leave. There is something going on with Lindell to not see anything wrong with what he put before these men and for continuing to bad mouth him for this. I would seriously reconsider my attendance at Lindell's church. Something is not right.
I don’t give to Mark Driscoll, but for John Lindell to tell people to stop giving to his ministry, I believe it’s up to God to tell people to quit giving, not John. As far as the leaders in the Assembly of God, I pray that they will step up. Robbie thanks you for all that you do for the Lord!
Driscoll was right. The Pastor of that church and the cowards that support him need some serious confrontation. These are the same type of people that looked the other way, made excuses, protected their job, at places like IHOPKC. The compromise and and cover ups likely happens more than we know. I’m trying to figure out why so many men tolerated the pole dance in the first place. A man of God would have gotten up and left that sorry excuse and ironically named Stronger Men men’s conference. The bigger problem is not the performance, that’s a symptom. The issue is that several people in leadership at that event had to sign off on it. It was not spontaneous. It was planned and probably rehearsed. And… that no one stood up in the moment and turned over the tables. At a “Stronger Men”? Conference? All those Christian men there at this AG mega church and no one had the discernment or courage to stand up and say something? No significant pushback until Driscoll said something the next day. He was probably hesitant to do it because of his relationship with Lindell. I think Driscoll tried the best way he knew how. Then it all turned into a 6th grade mean girls drama. Worse yet for all the critics to see. I left an AG church once over a similar matter. People willing to compromise and be friendly with obvious sin. It’s horrible.
Mark isn't the type to promote his book this way. If he will put himself out there and risk his reputation this way, he wouldn't want to risk the wrath of a friend who has control of a big church who could be helpful. He would want to keep his friendship at all costs. There are many other ways to promote a book.
You were right, if Driscoll had gone to Lindell and told him what he was going to say, he never would have been allowed to say it.. that performance took place in front of all of those men and they needed to hear what Driscoll said.
Pastor of mega church who disregards the correct context of Scripture to grasp for straws 😬 Thanks Robby for speaking on this. "the Lord is calling us to Holiness❤️🔥"
Robby you did a very good biblical analysis of this situation. Great way to end this video too. We need to daily examine our lives and pursue holiness!
Mark's been teaching on Revelation where Jesus warns the churches to NOT tolerate the Jezebel spirit which they largely ignore. The Jezebel spirit opened the men's conference and Mark called it out publicly. We don't have enough Pastors calling out boldly in the moment where Jezebel has been allowed. Then Lindell protecting himself sealed it exposing a lot more wrong with the church today.
Revelation does not say a Jezebel Spirit...its says only Jezebel....its not a spirit. Its a symbol like everything in revelation. Its a symbol for those that are like her, treacherous, full of trickery and manipulation, a narcissist. Jezebel spirit is a con doctrine that they made up to make $$$ selling books.
Please, how can I speak with someone from this ministry? I tryed calling several times, but never got answered. I'd like to support some of your special projects.
God bless Mark Driscoll for daring to speak the truth!!! We need to live by the 5 Pillars of the Underground Church! They walk in the anointing not in the entertainment!!!! We need to live like the book of Acts!!!
The moment I saw the shirtless man in the video, I felt nauseated. I immediately turned it off, knowing that it was clearly not of God. Does anyone truly believe that Jesus, had He been in the audience, would have kept silent? Thank you, Robbie, for speaking out on this matter. Until I saw that you were addressing the issue, I refused to watch any more videos about it. I knew that you'd have prayed over it, before you addressed it. Bless you.
Well spoken! The word "observation" that Mark said in his statement stood out to me. An observation is something that was seen and should be thought about.
Great podcast. Mark Driscoll is a proven Man of God (humble with a Repentant Heart). Glad he spoke out against the Jezebel spirit in that Assemblies of God Church!!
Mark is not a humble repentant man! I'm glad he called this out but he's never repented for Mars Hill mess and shouldn't have been on stage to speak in the first place! This is just one of many things that's going on at JRC! Many people have left JRC but JL is taking souls down with him!
I feel the church in America as a whole has compromised. It made my stomach churn as I watched the video. It’s like we have moved into world and become a part of it and separate.
My wife and I listened to this on our way to Ohio and I have to say thank you so much for presenting this topic so well. We agree with the position you have taken, as you have presented the truth through measuring the facts with the word of God. In no way did we hear judgment but love for both sides. Seeing the compromise of Sanctity and holiness within the church it is something that the Holy Spirit has really been weighing on us. Thank you for your humility and please continue to put out these great podcast.
I appreciate this dissertation on the asherah pole debacle. Very wise. I enjoyed it. I know personally. I listened to Mark back in the day, and then moved on/lost interest after his whole fall/controversy. But I must say. After seeing this, I am re-subscribed and have listened to quite a number of his talks on the Jezebel spirit. As a recovering Ahab, stepping into his role as an Elijah - I am all too familiar with dealing with the Jezebel spirit. More than I ever cared to be. And personally, speaking out and speaking up in public is the ONLY way to begin to dismantle the Jezebel spirit. We've kept things "private" for far too long. And "private" allows the Jezebel spirit to continue to spin things and gaslight and play "he/she said" ... Only humble, public, direct confrontation will begin to shift things. And Mark did all those things quite well. Like you, Mr. Dawkins - Mark is a man of men. A leader of leaders. And I'm all in with that. He may not be a perfect man (who, besides King Jesus is?), but he has a Father's heart. And it's time for some father's to start kick'n some Jezebel butt :) Arise BRIDE. Game on. Much love! As ONE.
My understanding of Mars Hill is that Mark took a very strong stand for masculinity when masculinity was being deemed toxic. As a result of his efforts to support masculinity he was deemed as abusive. In Portland Oregon I believe so consider that too.
The texts messages disclaimer have no weight. Lindell is presenting a defensive representation of allegation that we do not know if are true. His behaviour is ungodly and destructive for the Gospel.
In addition yo the fact he led about the performer having a family and being a Christian. If he lied about one part why should we believe him about the other? .
Thank you for your levelheaded commentary and approach on this. And for bringing honesty and understanding to a very difficult but much needed discussion about the state of our churches today. We need the spiritual conviction and discernment to return to our leaders. And we’ve consumed too much junk food in Christian culture. I think we all need the meat of the true word of God to nourish the body again. 🙏🏻❤️
James River has been in some state of revival for the past year or so with people being saved, healings, radical miracles, etc... so does it surprise me that something like this happened and that everyone is taking sides for or against them? Not even for a second.
What’s wild is that by Lindell’s own actions, he shows that he agrees with how Mark handled it because if he applied his own theological application of Matthew 18, then Mark did an offense against him personally which he addressed publicly. There’s such a conflict there. If he felt Mark offended him then he should have gone to him privately. But no, he did it on stage. Whereas Mark did not commit an offense against Lindell, he witnessed a public display and went to the same arena to make commentary. Contrast what Lindell did, he said that Mark’s comments were a personal offense that he then handled publicly. So either Lindell has to say Matthew 18 applies to private and public “offenses” or he has to say he was wrong in accusing Mark of not following Matthew 18. Can’t have it both ways.
With so much focus on people coming out talking about Church hurt and cult practices in US ⛪️. Subjects like these need 2 be discussed publicly. Unfortunately more people are hurt by the ⛪️ instead of Healed. Avoiding and dismissing are not solutions anymore. Thank you Sir
I spent 35 years in the A/G. It was wonderful in the 80s, 90s and part of the 2000s. Now it seems to be a mixed bag! They may be growing in numbers, but less and less are baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues!
@user-sd6yu1xs4g it became about cheap quantitative growth, rather than deep qualitative growth. People started accepting compromise about the gifts of the Spirit, refusing to seek the Lord for necessary growth.
I was born and raised in the A/G. I remember the A/G from the 60's and 70's. Preaching FIRE, holiness, fasting and prayer, powerful times "around the alter" praying and seeking God. People having deeply personal encounters with God and The Holy Ghost. Yep, my how times (and the A/G) have changed! Highly educated and self sufficient. We got this! The old timers are embarrassing to us now. Good luck folks! EXPOSURE is now coming......
No where does it says "baptized with the evidence of other tongues." Yes some baptized do speak in tongues, other get other things as proof. Thats why Paul said "do all speak in tongues?" Thats for the people who speak in tongues so they won't condemn others in self righteousness. There is dreams and visions, casting out demons, they shall drink poison and not be harmed......Don't believe those that say you have to have tongues or else you don't have it.
@davidc4233 in multiple instances of Acts, they laid their hands on all, and they all were baptized. On the day of Pentecost, all were baptized in the upper room and speaking in tongues. Do not conflate 1 Cor 14, which is a demonstration of corporate tongues that are used to prophesy, with the baptism of the Holy Spirit as evidenced with tongues in Acts. Two different manifestations, two different administrations. If a person wants the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I've yet to see it not be dispensed. That said, do I prophesy with tongues even though I speak it? No. It isn't the way the Holy Spirit works through me to the body.
Mark Driscoll should Repent for telling the truth? This situation was so dumb. Mark should have dusted off his feet and left without a sound after getting booted by John Lindel.
Don’t get it twisted Mark Driscoll only called out the Jezebel spirit because he’s trying to promote himself because he’s working on a book called the Jezebel Spirit
Lindell as a minister of the Lindell, as a minister of the Gospel ,I call you out to get on your knees and repent from the fact that you as the pastor of this church you sir lead your people and all the men that was there to stumble that is young in their faith ,this sir puts thdir blood on your hands
Lindell is using Matthew 18 out of context. What Driscoll did to Lindell was similar to what Paul did to Peter when he was with the circumcised people. It's so plain in the Scripture. Lindell just got exposed plain and simple. Would any person who knows Scripture sit under Lindell after this? I certainly wouldn't.
I also think of Paul rebuking Peter for acting differently when he was eating with the new gentile believers, and when his Jewish breathers came he change his behavior. That was on open rebuke
Let's look at the context of this rebuke and compare it to this men's conference. The event was put on by James River Church. Driscol was a guest. Mark did not have the spiritual authority to rebuke the church or the event. When he rebuked the event without authority, he was in the wrong. Pastor Lindel had the right to confront him. Right or wrong is not the issue. It is one of rebellion against the authority in the situation. Mark Driscol has a history of doing this. In the case of Paul calling out Peter. Peter was visiting the church where Paul was in a position of spiritual authority. Paul had the right to rebuke Peter. We need to get back to understanding that we are all under the authority of Christ and that we do not have the right to act the way we feel is right.
@@robbhawks2568Totally disagree! JESUS was the spiritual authority of this men’s conference NOT Lindell!! I 100% support and commend Driscoll for taking a stand! Many of us believe it was the Holy Spirit working through Driscoll to rightfully call out the Jezebel Spirit performance that was witnessed! He didn’t directly call Lindell out! Lindelll’s smug, arrogant, prideful ego in regards to the whole situation seriously makes me sick to my stomach!! Lindell needs to have a serious “come to Jesus”, repent, and ask for forgiveness! He will answer to Jesus for his actions! In regards to ministers, I believe our Heavenly Father will hold them to a higher accountability considering their actions and misuse of our Heavenly Father’s word have the ability to wrongly misled believers!
@@karenhigginson2155 Hi Karen. You are both right and wrong. Jesus is the source of all authority. But God's form of government is delegated authority. When Christ issues authority to church leaders, they are responsible directly to Christ for how they use that authority. Pastor Lindell was operating within the authority entrusted to him as the pastor. God will hold him personally responsible for how he used that entrusted or delegated authority. Mark Driscoll was not in a position of spiritual authority over Pastor Lindell in this conference. He was a guest and thus under Pastor Lindell's authority. Mark admitted this when Pastor Lindell told him that his time was up and to leave the stage. As I mentioned, he was free to proclaim his "word", but not in that location. He could have waited until after the event or left the event. He could have NOT walked up onto stage but have left the event and then made his "word" from a place that was not under the authority of Pastor Lindell. If he was truly looking to deliver a "word from God" to the leadership, he should have done so in private. You say that you believe that the Holy Spirit was working through Driscoll to call out the Jezebel Spirit. Perhaps that is so, but the Holy Spirit would not have led Driscoll to do so in a manner that was rebellious to the authority of Christ as represented in Pastor Lindell. (See "Spiritual Authority" by Watchman Nee.) Something to consider. This is not the first time Mark Driscoll has caused an uproar around the subject of a recently published book (Spirit of Jezebel, published fall 2023) in order to either increase sales or to self promote. In October 2013 he crashed a John Mac Arthur 'Strange Fire' conference. He was not invited, he just showed up, opened a box of his latest book, and began giving them away. When he was asked to remove his books from the conference, he resisted until he was told that security would box his books up and take them to his car etc. He tweeted out a deceptive tweet stating that he was at the conference and that his books had been confiscated. It was purely a marketing stunt designed to create social media traffic and self promotion. Sound familiar? By the way, he was part of a scheme to have his church, Mars Hill, purchase 10,000 plus copies of one of his books to get it on the New York Times best seller list. Deception. Deception is not of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for your restrained and measured commentary. For the sake of JUSTICE, I believe the level of correction needs to be administerd at the SAME level of exposure. All the men at the conference witnessed the opening demonstration. I believe Marc did his best to explain his concerns and bring them forward to everyone who was in attendance. As observed (and indicated by Jesus in Rev 2), Jezebel does not willingly repent. Instead, that spirit chooses offense, appeals to emotion, and casts blame..
This bs about quoting the Bible to say “you should come to me in private” is nonsense. The act was done in public, in front of the whole church/conference. So it merits a calling out in public. The end. His “come to me in private” mess was just a poor attempt to justify “I’m completely embarrassed”, and ultimately resulted in blasphemy on his part.
John Lindell needs to step down and resign, or be physically removed from this church until he repents and apologizes for his sins against the name of God!
It's the Lindell family business! All 5 are on the payroll and AG said they don't have any control over JRC! At this point it's safe to say that people are going to have to leave the church! The staff is running interference and protecting the family and no one can get a meeting with the family!
Thank you for the response. I don't think there is a single thing wrong with how Mark responded to this. I know Mark has gotten a lot of criticism based on his past, but to me that's just ad hominem attacks. It has nothing to do with the merits for or against what Mark and John has said or done, when it comes to this situation in particular. The only argument I've heard against Mark, is that he has a sordid past and is not fit to be a pastor, so people should not listen to him. But I think the problem is, if you take the messenger out of the equation, and just look at the facts of what happened, this situation is extremely damning for John Lindell: 1/ The pole dance is clearly sexual in nature, and has no place in the body of Christ. Men who attended the conference that are struggling with same sex attraction have since come out and said that they had come to that conference for help with this, witnessed the performance and were directly tempted by it. If anyone were to try to deny this was a sexually provocative performance, just substitute a woman in there instead of a man, and you immediately see. No place for that in the church. 2/ John Lindell lied about Alex, the performer. He is not a Christian, he does not have kids, so the narrative that John was trying to paint in his indictment of Mark, was a bold faced lie right from the start. 3/ John Lindell's claim that he is beyond criticism because he is 'anointed' is absolutely insane. It's a desperate grasp at a shield to avoid any accountability in this. Pastors are simply men. They can lie, they can have agendas, they can make terrible mistakes, and they can be influenced by demons, just like anyone else can. To suggest they are 'anointed' and thus can't be criticized or wrong is a demonic notion. 4/ John Lindell and James River Church have since sponsored on RUclips the full sermon of John calling on Mark to repent. That means they are paying RUclips to artificially prop it up in the algorithms, to increase it's reach - and on top of that, they are actively deleting negative comments off of it (of which there are A LOT, the majority of people support Mark in this). So they are censoring criticism of John and support of Mark, even in that. Dishonest behavior all around. Mark is a man. A flawed man. He's made mistakes in his past - as we all have. Are pastors to be held to a higher standard in these things? Perhaps, but there needs to be a fulsome discussion when it comes to this type of thing, and a clear delineation on what that higher standard actually entails, and what it applies to. Can certain sins preclude a man from preaching from the pulpit? Perhaps. But we can't simply write off every single thing a pastor ever says because they may have made mistakes, or even acted immorally in the past. Arguments like this need to be evaluated and weighed based on the merits of both sides, not based on who is delivering the argument. I don't take Mark's side in this because it's Mark that's saying it. I take his side because on the weight of the evidence, it's clear it's the right position to take. It could have been Joel Olsteen presenting this argument, for all I care. If the argument is sound, that's what matters.
How about the simple fact that Alex could die from doing his act. His act itself is dangerous! This is to entertain Christian men?!? Poor Alex needs Jesus and this is all sad and disgusting!
Apparently he is saved and left the stripper profession. What I can't understand is why they didn't have him start the conference with his testimony of what Jesus saved him from, rather than ask him to do this old stuff for entertainment. He is probably confused about everything
@@AE-pv9vcBecause he’s not actually saved. He put out his own video stating that he is in fact not married, does not have kids and is an orthodox Christian meaning he believes he was saved as an infant. He goes on to describe how Jesus “saves” his life and it is not at all aligned with this churches views.
Someone has already been to the AG and they said they don't have any control over JRC! He dropped the assembly off the name a few years back and I think that's when it happened!
@@NancyWilliams-xv9fb I looked up James River Church and searched their beliefs, it says "the general council of the Assemblies of God statement of truth. JRC should notify the AG they are no longer associated with the denomination.
Robbie, thanks for having the courage to 'table' such a difficult subject, and for maintaining a spirit of grace and love in the process. These issues are difficult to handle, especially since so often Christians feel entitled to proffer opinions when they (obviously and even admittedly) only see through a glass darkly and know only in part the context, the history, or the background of the event. One wonders, then, whether the directions/constrictions of Matthew 18 are even relevant to, or constitute the appropriate way to deal with, such public errors in judgement as this one since the verses were addressed to (single person) individuals, not groups. Would not, perhaps, the proper response have been to simply walk out of the meeting and postpone the confrontation until the actual conditions met the Matthew 18 directions (first, one on one)? To what sin do we all seem to so easily be influenced by that we feel that we must do everything publicly, thus giving the enemy of our souls additional means by which to drag Christ's Name through the mud? Oh how easily we justify our carnal desire to broadcast our opinions!
Springfield MO is really tired of James River Church. Assemblies of God's headquarters is in Springfield. Nothing being done. I think it ALL revolves around money and power. God help Springfield MO 🙏
Is Matthew 18 the only scripture in the bible when issues arise? I think Galatians 2:11 is way more fitting in this situation “Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;” and also Galatians 2:14 NKJV “But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter Before them all “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?” He did it before them all! When Peter as a leader got out of line, Paul rebuked him publicly!! Using Matthew 18 is so hypocritical when after the emails are sent to his son, the other Pastor responds publicly. Were you using Matthew 18 then? I would be running from that Church, it’s sickening!
I’m listening to this in my car and at the exact moment you mentioned the part about fog and lights in church I drove past a sign that said “caution fog area.” Lol. I’m unsure if that means anything just submitting it here.
He called Mark to publicly repent?? He needs to look in the mirror. I do not live in AZ but when I visit, pastor Mark's church is one of the church that I most definitely visit!
Oh my God...what men conference wants to see a male poll dancer??? I am a woman and I do not want to see a male poll dancer. This is jesabel and defining the pulpit if I ever saw it. Stop hiding behind entertainment. I am glad to see 1 pastor stood up to this, all the Pastors should have walked out. Unbeleivable if one cannot see this for what it was.
With a little research, it can be confirmed that the performer both frequented gay bars, and performed in them. His social media has many questionable images. Lindell is way in the wrong... anything for power, money, and ego. Sad.
Thanks Robbie for all that you shared I do not know any of the men that were in any of those videos so I cannot address the character of any of them but I was very troubled by Lindell's statements publicly to his church. I never saw any of the interview of both of them sitting together on the stage and having any conversation so that was new to me but I did not see anything out of line with Mark Driscoll's attitude or words regarding the Jezebel spirit that he noted. From what I heard I agreed that he was not calling out any persons but was calling out a spirit. I don't know any of the backstory of any of these people or the churches so I can't make any judgment but I felt very unsettled by what I heard from Lindell's statements. I appreciate your clarifying and your counsel Robbie. I'm feeling very uncertain about a lot of calling out of Christian leaders these days by other people. I realize that sin needs to be addressed but our ability to social media communication to the world is maybe not always the best avenue for dealing with these things. Help Holy Spirit.
They gave an equal platform to mark to speak, to worship and to a stripper. The platform or the scope of influence the sin took should equal the call for repentance. We can’t ask God for discernment and then rebuke the gift when it’s used. 2019 brought the prophetic word that God would expose things hidden in order to rebuke and here we have it literally and representationally shown.
John is getting ready to retire and hand it down to the kids! I don't believe the death threat calls! I think that's a way of not having to answer questions! At this point I want proof of everything not John's words!
*Pastor Mark Driscoll hasn't say a word about "the incident" since that day. Pastor Lindell in a video accused him for A -B -C. After a few day he withdraw the video where he "excommunicate" Pastor Driscoll.*
It took over a week. I believe it was from the overall consensus regarding his behavior. Yet, he still has not admitted to being wrong or apologized for his behavior.
I appreciate ROBBY DAWKINS' careful attention on the Matter of James River Church scandal. When Mark Driscoll called it out in what i consider a careful gentlest way possible. .. I believe he did right by speaking to the sheep or the young or new audience and believer in Christ.
Interesting you spoke about the preacher who fell that you were with on some ministry situations. I remember this and I have to say, when I saw your name on my youtube suggestions, I questioned if I wanted to listen to your view on the Mark Driscoll situation. It is really important who we associate with. I do agree that Mark had to make a point as not to be associated with this very immoral situation at James River.
Right from the start, Mark said it was "a rebuke or correction of NO ONE, but an OBSERVATION"! In other words, a perfect opportunity to TEACH something NEEDED for ALL of the Church! But Ego and Pride got in the way, of COURSE! Instead of learning in humbleness what (may have) been done as a mistake, and receiving the message about how subtle and slick the Enemy can be (the same methods he used to DECEIVE Adam's wife...EVE)...oh no! ; Just HAD TO make it all about himself (Lindell). He's the one, in my opinion, who should be asking forgiveness and seeking God's cleansing from that very visible PUFFED -UP arrogance, pride (spiritual pride and otherwise), that has helped cause or bring SHAME to our Lord's Name! Lindell's immediate butt-hurt outburst sure didn't bring Jesus. Holy Name any Glory.... or show Christian "Brotherly Love" within the Body of Christ.... to the world! Not as far as I can tell anyways! But by NOT being "separate" from the world; by playing footsie with the world; by acting (and covertly) believing that the POWER of the GOSPEL, ALONE, is NOT ENOUGH.... that God somehow needs OUR help to "draw all men unto Himself", etc.....THAT IS the reason why most churches in America are nothing but stagnant, SHALLOW watering holes in this Truth-starved Desert Land. Christ said, "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Myself". Instead, we've got pastors and sword swallowers, and forms of entertainment being lifted upto attract "numbers". .y stomach turns!
Robby, I had to wait until the fervor settled down to listen to anything about the Lindell meltdown. Your sober, honest and fair assessment of Both sides of this is most refreshing. You did what few claim to do when referring to "speaking the Truth in Love". We as individuals, or corporately as a local body (a church), must pluck the beam out of our own eyes to even begin to see. Lindell only sought to justify his own actions. While I believe Driscoll spoke the Truth to that church, they did not receive it. Driscolls return to speak with, to be spoken to by Lindell was a mistake. Wanting to be a pleaser, Lindell wrongly began to walk back his initial statement, which again, I believe was from God. Bad things happen when we compromise. Worse yet, the Ashara poles and the High Places remain and make us guilty of Syncretism.
A of G - wow this explains alot to me. I left A of G back in’97 because the Toronto silliness arrived and I wouldn’t have any of it. Why the next day there were any men left in that church or anyone stayed during the entertainment. They should’ve ALL walked out.
When I was a boy (I'm nearly 80 now) the A of G was a bastion of Spirit-filled holiness. The A of G church had already grown lukewarm by 2000, but when their leadership went into the Pensacola/Brownsville church and demanded that the mighty move of God shut down immediately, that started an avalanche of apostasy in that demonimation. As far as I'm concerned it's over for them now. It is written, "Come out of her and be separate."
I am now approaching my 80th birthday and was blessed by God with a fair amount of male attractiveness. I spent many of those now 79 years in public areas of media and entertainment while also a Pentecostal, and later Charismatic, church member. Those years in the public eye and ear became a hazard to me because they led me into areas of temptation that I was too spiritually immature to make strong stands against. There is NOTHING in the human soul that is more inexorably powerful than the urge to copulate, and especially outside a sanctified relationship. Without yielding your mind, will, and emotions entirely to the Holy Spirit (the Lord Jesus by his example), a man ABSOLUTELY CANNOT resist that temptation. It took a long time and much sorrow over having repeatedly yielded to that urge and the anguish and grief it brought to those in my realm of influence that I was finally able to DIE TO MYSELF and yield my mind, will, and emotions totally to JESUS, my absolute Lord and master. DYING TO SELF IS THE ONLY WAY, and doing so is very difficult to learn. At nearly 80 years of age do I still experience those temptations? YES, ABSOLUTELY, but I learned about 30 years ago to DIE TO MYSELF, and since then new peace and assurance in my life THROUGH JESUS ALONE have sweetly ruled. You might find my autobiography "Because I've Seen His Glory" interesting and inspiring. Amazon has it.
Robbie I hole hardly agree with your whole message here if something wrong in that church to allow that kind of entertainment, Mark Driscoll was not wrong
Awesome words. Just one thing, though. The reference to the Flying Wallendas was not a good parallel. The entire family became Pentecostal Christians in the 70s and 80s, and were very outspoken in their faith, including in their performances. TOTALLY different from the incident at James River Church.
A couple of thoughts to add. First thanks Robby for sharing and I love the prayer at the end. 1 Paul publicly rebuked Peter for a public thing he was doing which was only sitting with the Jews. (Showing partiality) 2. I think some christians wouldn’t mind a man taking off his shirt if it was in the right context. Example: if it was a play depicting Jesus being beaten and crucified. Everyone knows he was crucified naked (not that we should just have a naked man on the stage) but they seem a bit different. Still if the movie Passion of the Christ was played at the church, no one would say anything about them showing a movie with a shirtless man. Still i totally agree with the statement we need discernment because if our focus is getting off of Christ that’s terrible.
❤ Please, how can I speak to someone from your ministry? I have tryed calling, but never received an answer. I love and appreciate your programs. Please respond.
Love the way you handled this! I had a dream that a bridal shower was being prepared inside a building. There were big, colorful balloons. A man opened the door and most of the balloons flew out of the building. Some of the balloons got stuck because their strings wrapped around a pole. The Lord is purifying his Bride. Best for churches to be humble, be willing to receive correction and surrender to what the Lord wants to do. He may not want you to have circus acts and the balloons might need to leave the building 🎈.
Lindell was triggered and embarrassed by being called out. Lindell’s sermon was so full of pride and arrogance I couldn’t believe it!
Absolutely. A leader of a large church, read private messages to the congregation, called for them to shun Mark, basically, and said Mark was doing this to promote his book, his agenda. I guess John says and does whatever he wants, truth or not, because he is anointed.
Ppp
I agree 100%
John Lindell is PERVERSE I tried to call him up and all his phone numbers were defeoned to the church ALL OF IT gotta have a porn problem Somewhere there is a very evil open door to the satanic "adam henry".
💥My decernment radar exploded with righteous anger seeing John Lindell behavior! He was being convicted by the holy spirit and needs prayer😮 Standing with Mark Driscol on this was a teaching moment and that is why he was there!🙏🏽
Reinhardt Bonkhe said something similar..."The less Holy Spirit we have, the more cake and coffee. we need to keep the church going". So true!
@@andrew-c1y9b, and that is unscriptural. I pray Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to you.
@@andrew-c1y9b , he has, which is why I am no longer a in the RC church.
These celebrity wannabes like James River Lindell have no shame and act like kids. Trying to be cool and fun. Sad
@KevinHale-vq2xr It's really just disgusting, In my opinion. These Rockstar pastors are really the farthest thing from being pastors.
Yes, time to exit.
SPURGEON:A time is coming when shepherds will no long feed the sheep, but the church will have clowns entertaining the goats! Prophetic
Goats 🐐 🐐 🐐 entertaining the goats
I don’t give to Mark Driscoll, but for John Lindell to tell people to stop giving to his ministry, I believe it’s up to God to tell people to quit giving, not John. As far as the leaders in the Assembly of God, I pray that they will step up. Robbie thanks you for all that you do for the Lord!
What did the denomination do about this? Support the people pastor or the talk about (address) the issue?
Spoke Truth!! BLessings to you, in Jesus, our soon coming Lord and Savior!! MARANATHA!❤❤❤
You are ABSOLUTELY correct! Spiritual abuse from Lindell and Deflection from the real issue!
Charismatics, the men, kooky.
Pastor of mega church who disregards the correct context of Scripture to grasp for straws 😬
Thanks Robby for speaking on this. "the Lord is calling us to Holiness❤️🔥"
Never stop compassionate truth telling, Robbie. Bless you!
Thank you for lovingly addressing this situation!
Please, how can I speak with someone from this ministry? I tryed calling several times, but never got answered. I'd like to support some of your special projects.

Thank you! Exactly! How could pastor Driscoll NOT have addressed what happened for that very reason. His silence would have condoned it.
Paul needs to write them a letter. A lot of churches today need a letter from Paul😢
Bless you.
I agree 1000%. Judgment is coming to His house. People need to pay attention.
John is so puffed up on pride. Sad
And not separate
My wife and I listened to this on our way to Ohio and I have to say thank you so much for presenting this topic so well. We agree with the position you have taken, as you have presented the truth through measuring the facts with the word of God. In no way did we hear judgment but love for both sides. Seeing the compromise of
Sanctity and holiness within the church it is something that the Holy Spirit has really been weighing on us.
It was in Seattle, Washington.
The texts messages disclaimer have no weight. Lindell is presenting a defensive representation of allegation that we do not know if are true. His behaviour is ungodly and destructive for the Gospel.
In addition yo the fact he led about the performer having a family and being a Christian. If he lied about one part why should we believe him about the other? .
Very thoughtfully and appropriately stated. Thank you for soundly applying Biblical wisdom!

Robby, Just wanted to say I Love your content & humility & "straight shooting" perspective!
I was shocked jimmy Evans stood with Lindell on this even though Lindell lied about Alex 🥺🥺🥲

We need to pray for Lindells church!
Maybe God doesn't want Liddell's church. Maybe this is God's way of rescuing the souls in Liddell's church.
@@andrew-c1y9b it is, but this is why we need to install and assure proper discipleship
Appreciate your perspective and teaching on this. Very sound and filled with Biblical facts and grace as well. Thank you for weighing in
Mark Driscoll should Repent for telling the truth? This situation was so dumb. Mark should have dusted off his feet and left without a sound after getting booted by John Lindel.
Exactly....
He should not have folded so easily I think. That pastor that allowed that to take place does not have authority to stop Mark
Don’t get it twisted Mark Driscoll only called out the Jezebel spirit because he’s trying to promote himself because he’s working on a book called the Jezebel Spirit

Lindell, as a minister of the Gospel ,I call you out to get on your knees and repent from the fact that you as the pastor of this church you sir lead your people and all the men that was there to stumble that is young in their faith ,this sir puts thdir blood on your hands
@@paulan7218 He said he is giving away the book, no money made.
I agree with your assessment of the situation. Thank you for bringing truth.
(See "Spiritual Authority" by Watchman Nee.)
Something to consider.
@@robbhawks2568 I think we found the guy that attends James River
I so enjoyed Sunday Night Church with you and Mario Murillo! I still miss it and the powerful messages and intro to the show (The Devil is a Liar).
Wow this Mark guy is awesome we need more pastors like him.

Good word, brother.

Love your words , love your spirit
Thank you for the response. I don't think there is a single thing wrong with how Mark responded to this. I know Mark has gotten a lot of criticism based on his past, but to me that's just ad hominem attacks. It has nothing to do with the merits for or against what Mark and John has said or done, when it comes to this situation in particular.
The only argument I've heard against Mark, is that he has a sordid past and is not fit to be a pastor, so people should not listen to him.
But I think the problem is, if you take the messenger out of the equation, and just look at the facts of what happened, this situation is extremely damning for John Lindell:
1/ The pole dance is clearly sexual in nature, and has no place in the body of Christ.
The Assembly of God must address this outrage. Lindell must lose his credentials.
100% agree so good Robbie on point with everything 🙌🕊
Thank you
Springfield MO is really tired of James River Church. Assemblies of God's headquarters is in Springfield. Nothing being done. I think it ALL revolves around money and power. God help Springfield MO 🙏
Great message!
Thank you. This is insightful.
Could it be that God is exposing the American Church for gravitating toward gimmicks because the presence of God is missing.
Sad thing is; after talking with John backstage, Mark returned to the stage. A compromise was made.
With a little research, it can be confirmed that the performer both frequented gay bars, and performed in them. His social media has many questionable images. Lindell is way in the wrong... anything for power, money, and ego. Sad.
Sound wisdom. Thanks.
Public event, public repent.
Alot of people rightly said the same thing for the Toronto Blessing.
Mark was there to preach about the "Ahab & Jezebel Spirit" and just released a great book on the subject 😢 I support Mark Driscoll 😊
It is so messed up what organized religion has become in the US, a dog and pony show without muzzles for animals that want to bare their teeth.
Those who sin publicly must be rebuked publicly
Slipping? Years ...I left seeker church 2008.
...during a famine too
I am now approaching my 80th birthday and was blessed by God with a fair amount of male attractiveness.
I’d love to see a video where you review Mike Winger’s video on Benny Hinn
Awesome words. Just one thing, though. The reference to the Flying Wallendas was not a good parallel. The entire family became Pentecostal Christians in the 70s and 80s, and were very outspoken in their faith, including in their performances. TOTALLY different from the incident at James River Church.
I would no longer be attending that church, but that’s just me.
Nice analysis
Absolutely 💯 satan will disguise as an angel of light..
