I’ve not quite mastered the art of shaving with a cut throat razor under my nose. I broke my arm and it never healed properly so I do what I can and finish off
with a Gillette blue. Swapping sides and holding the blade the other way is tricky. Anyway, all the best and thank you 👌

Adrian Victor Hello mate thanks for the comment first follow of the beard which way you grow then go over side to side Then go over opposite side it will take all the shadows but no need to do because after couple hours later they will start growing mine does 😂😂

Three pass depending on how keen your razor is and how much razor burn you get subject to. First pass down with the grain. Second pass side to side. Third pass against the grain to get BBS.

as someone who shaves with a straight razor, its actually pretty safe so long as you prepare and do what your supposed to
Plus you get a uniquely close shave you can't get with even a safety razor. Pros might be able to use the straight razor every day but I save it for the weekend when I have time to really do it right. It's kind of a ritual in a lot of ways.

Bloody hell that must be sharp. He's got a thick established beard and it's falling off like butter. Me I'm too chicken to try a safety razor, let alone a straight edge. Cartridge and swivel for me 🐔

Safety razors are easy & fun to learn with no wasted plastic for the landfills. Just maintain a thirty degree angle, use no pressure and let the weight of the razor do the work. No problem mate.

What's blades you use and how many shaves you try and get out of them can affect the shave. I have a Mekur and it shaves well. Keep experimenting.
@@markmonaghan2571 I use the Gillette 7 o'clock greens and I get 2 maybe 3 shaves from them and I open up a new one. I shave my head and face at the same time so I guess that's why they don't last so long. I do a two-pass shave too on both my head and face. I was using Astra Superior Platinum but they weren't cutting my hair cleanly and they were also skipping a lot on my skin. I've also used the infamous Feather blades but they were rough to me and cut me too easily. So far, the Gillette 7 o'clock greens have been the best blades I've tried. The next blades I will try are the Gillette Nacets and the Permasharp blades.
I want to get either an adjustable Gillette Fatboy one day or get a single edge like the Blackland Vector. The only problem is they are very expensive.

I think I keep my Gillette and avoid skin irritations!
Cartridge razors are the biggest reasons why men have razor burns and irritations. I highly recommend double edge shaving. You can find wilkinson sword starter packs in anywhere. Keep in mind that you need a good shaving soap or the ones in tubes for an irritation free shave. That stuff in metal cans are junk.

@@ozmobozo I agree completely, when i stopped using them all the irritation and razor burn disappeared, plus much cheaper to use a safety razor and especially shavette since it only uses half of the razor blade so one box of 5 blades is like 10 blades
It also depends on the type of skin... I get more irritations and bumps with DE, sadly cuz i love it... I have over a 1000 blades, of many brands, and 2 razors, the Merkur 34c and a Parker Variant. And one Dovo straight razor and a Parker Shavette. And yes i use the proper technique of little to no pressure using de’s or straight’s.
