I just bought a class C 4wd Rv that 21’ (0.305 meters) and saw the kick ass shower tent on line. It looks like a great product. The mesh pockets and towel rope with cover inside are slick. I’m definitely stealing your idea on attaching it. Excellent job 🇺🇸🇦🇺 👍🏼
Great idea / set up - thanks!. Suggest applying silicone behind the sail track, before fixing pot rivets - to stop water getting in holes drilled in side of caravan
Kick Ass dude. I was going to fix mine permanently but you've convinced me otherwise. I bought a different brand shower tent though and only came with 4 bolts, hopefully Bunnings has them (probably not). Cheers mate
Awesome video, good observation not to level it with the height of than, that's what I would have done and then would have wondered what went wrong lol. Am buying shower tent now! Thanks
Thanks 👍 glad you enjoyed it, check out this weeks video of our new sidle out kitchen and info on bbq safety in caravan parks as they are cracking down on illegal bbq connections
Sorry if I am posting again, I thought I had posted a comment, but can't find it, so having another go. As I said in first comment, what a well structured video, you put all the info and steps in a logical order answering questions as one would naturally think of them. Only thing is I can't find the "hook" strip you refer to, only the sail track at Bunnings, at least online as I don't want to drive there to find only the one. Any ideas of what it may be called, so I can try elsewhere, but searched all the aluminium strips online, unless it is listed as something else. Thanks again for taking time in your day to make this info available, because I am going to do my best to fit one to our van
great video, Ive been trying to come up with something similar for my ute canopy.. simple slide on slide off, the slide onto the inner roof or wall for storage.. this is just what I needed..
Glad it helped, we used it this long weekend and works great. I will get a few extension poles to support the frame as all the showers could do with a bit more stability
Thank you! We are off to Bunnings to buy Sail Tracks. Maybe you can edit the video at the point where the screws are being ground off and stop anyone starting to do that as you found a way better solution at the 12 minute mark! We watched the whole video but imagine if someone was following it minute by minute! Thanks again, you’re right there aren’t videos with instructions like this!
its a great video and idea. the use of bunnings parts was great as everyone is near a bunnings. was a hard watch though if you have decent speakers as your audio is very tinny ( heaps of treble) and no bass and the echo was rough
@@hitchupadventures4302 bummer, i hate it when i make a video and realise after that one thing is off. glad you have it sorted the rode will be waaay better
Hi Mate. Great vid. I’m about to start the instal on mine. I have those levelling feet from Bunnings, but can’t seem to get the bolt out that comes with it. Did they actually unscrew, or did you have to pull them out of the foot? Thanks in advance.
Awesome video and great idea so it's given me inspiration to do something similar. One question, did you use butal tape to seal the aluminium strip onto the van?
Do you have the part number or a link to the part that goes onto your awning? I can't find it on bunnings website and I'm 2 hours from the nearest one. Thanks
It is just called sail track, it’s used for any king of material which has rope in it, the in Bunnings the other piece is just a piece of alloy that is bent in a hook shape
Hi there, what a great well put together video, almost professional. I also have same problem as other user here as I can't find the aluminium section with the hook. I can find sail track on their website, but not the hook one. Also don't want to do the drive and perhaps only find the 1 part. The hook section is quite critical to making this work. Thanks again for thinking of others and putting this out for info, because we were just trying to figure out a solution because 4 wd has max tracks on 1 side and awning on other with solar panel on top. So never thought of van. Fortunately I went and measured and only 1 spot it will fit, as we have windows and doors etc all over the van sides. 8 windows, which is great for views, but bad for adding anything. Appreciate your time and effort!
You can leave it on if you like, I have removed mine as the bags get full of red dust. Hence the removal option. I would put a screw in the ends of the brackets if you plan on leaving it there all the time to help secure it on ruff roads
I did not do it on my van, but it would be good on a van that has a external panel and frame on it. My van is a solid panel van so no water can get inside

Great video, thanks very much. I am about to do, exactly what you have done.
Glad it could help you
Kick Ass dude. I was going to fix mine permanently but you've convinced me otherwise. I bought a different brand shower tent though and only came with 4 bolts, hopefully Bunnings has them (probably not). Cheers mate
It should work with all the tents, they mount the same. Happy champing 🤛🏻

Thanks for sharing. This is exactly what I need to attach to my aluminum horse trailer. Now I just need to find those rails in the US
Glad to help, it’s called sail track, it’s used to secure a tarp which has a rope sewn into it to a wall etc. very common

I live in Scotland, UK. I don’t think the title ‘sail track’ exists here. Having difficulty sourcing it. Thanks Neil
Thanks mate good idea! Was hoping to find a way to permanently mount it tho any ideas?
Just screw it staring into the van wall for a long term fix, find the wall frame 👌
Great job. Finally installed my Kickass.
Great to hear! 🤙🏻
Great idea. This is a mod that I had on my to-do list. Now I know what to do thanks to you.
Glad I could help, it’s very easy and works a treat. 👍🏻

Hi, thanks for the comment, sorry not sure what it’s called, it was in the alloy section in Bunnings

Job well done that 👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great vid and mod mate definitely doing this
Thank you
thanks so much, we bought a Max Trac shower tent (on clearance at Repco in WA atm $69) and I'm confident it will be very similar to the Kick Ass one.
I’m sure the same concept will work. Good luck with it 🤙🏻

Nice and simple mod mate, have a list of the parts you used from the green shed?
No list, the rails are the 1m length and the feet I showed in the video, bolts are also from the green shed.
Awesome great work. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great video. Covered it all. Planning the install now myself. Did you do anything about accessing you shower taps through the tent. Thankyou
No, the kick ass tent has zippers that allow you access easily

Sorry about that, after shooting i realised the GoPro mic addition was failing. They replaced it for me and now I have rode go 2. 👍🏻

Hi. Great idea for mounting. Wondering where you sourced saddles?
All from Bunnings, in the metal section near the gates. 👍🏻
Thanks mate I was hoping someone had done this, going to do this to my van thanks so much
My pleasure mate, I heard about it and could not find anyone who would show how to do it. Hope it works for you. 👍🏻

I just un did it with the nut on the metal side of the washer, it was not too hard,
Cool. Thanks.
Awesome video and great idea so it's given me inspiration to do something similar.
One question, did you use butal tape to seal the aluminium strip onto the van?
No tape, just pop rivets
If your worried about water, you would silicone across the top of the rail on the van
All good but you could put two slides up and down what you reckon
Not sure what you mean by 2 sides up?
Do you have the part number or a link to the part that goes onto your awning? I can't find it on bunnings website and I'm 2 hours from the nearest one. Thanks

Hi, Can it stay on while driving or does it have to be removed every time you move the van? Thanks.

What is the stuff u use to attach to the sail track
It’s in the same place at Bunnings, it has a curve in one end. It’s like a hook shape
Cheers bro mite try to do the same
My pleasure mate !
