OMG...you have no idea how much time you have just saved me!!! Was working away on a lace pattern & lost in thought forgot to put a lifeline in and arggh....wouldn’t you know it, a dropped p, k, p. Knew the knit but was mixing up the purl; you have just saved me oodles of time & hopefully a few less grey hairs. So, so very much appreciated!! Stay safe & be well💖👍🏼
Oh my goodness this couldnt have come at a better time! I literally sit here knitting my first sock at midnight and just dropped a stitch that proceeded to come unraveled 4 rows down and I had no idea how to fix it, but didnt wanna tink back so many rows so late..lol. Thank you times a million! :D such an awesome explanation, also learning how to tell if a stitch is twisted will be invaluable. I'm still super duper new to knitting, but I'm loving every second of it and learning new things is a joy.
@@SuzanneBryan thank you for all your videos, Suzanne. I tried to learn knitting from my gran, but she's a self-proclaimed terrible teacher so I came to youtube to learn and found your videos! Your instructions made something click in my brain and away I went. I've knitted every single day since then. You are a knitting guru from heaven. Stay safe and keep sharing all these wonderful tips! They're the best! :D
I've been lazy flipping to the knit side because I could never do it as neatly. 👍 Now I know how to do it either way. I love your videos for their clarity. You've made me a better knitter!
Thanks for watching and commenting. There are times when it is not so easy to flip to the other side, for example when knitting socks. It is always good to have these types of skills in your knitting repertoire.
Fantastic tool! Been there, done that, but your explanation and how you work the fix was far superior to my method of using only a crochet hook. Thanks Suzanne. Happy Hump Day.
❤omgosh . Knit saver. I'm 55 new to knitting. My friend been helping. She's a a lifer knitter. But I don't always see how it's done. Your video was great. Thank
Thank you so much for this! Extremely clear instructions at a sensible pace, I was able to just knit along. I've been knitting on and off for decades and had never seen this done. So simple! I've never subscribed to any channel before, but I know that I'll be back.
You are a life saver!!! Thank you so much! Just had a yarn snap on me on a stitch in my previous row and had to sew the two ends together 😮 dropped my current purl down three rows. But all is well now ❤
Oh my goodness!!! I've never seen a stitch picked up this way. Looks much easier. Going to try this next time I mess up. And I'm sure there will be a next time!!!
this was timely, I just had a purl stitch in a sock pattern that dropped down 4 rows and I was struggling trying to figure out the purl way to pick it up! thank you!
Thank you, again, great, clear, without any around, this l love! I knit since over 43 years but most of the times if l gotta do fix purl stitches, l turn and do it from the knit side, but l'll give it a try up to know. Why not? You made me anting it, although l hate purling if l can't do it the portuguesian way ! Izm always learning, every day anything :) ! Be blessed!
I think that this would come in really handy when you are knitting something small, in the round and it is not so easy to get to the other side. Like socks. Happy knitting.
Glad it helped! Happy New Year! Here is another video that you might like on picking up dropped purl stitches - ruclips.net/video/-KLLAmihnRQ/видео.html
Suzanne, Moving a little poncho and I’m on the last five rows and I see where I dropped a stitch, or rather two stitches Sarah Rose back. Should I frog until those dropped Pro’s or what’s the best way to fix this. Thank you very much. I love all your tutorials and I am on the knitting group in Facebook.
Suzanne, I dropped a stitch on my little poncho several rows back. I failed to see the draft stitch and continued knitting in spite of the drop stitch. It was very late. What’s the best way to fix this? Thank you so much.
Oh no! This is what I would do - go to that spot in the stitch sequence on your needle, so that spot is between your two needle points. Then with a crochet hook, catch the dropped stitch and ladder it up. It will be tight at first. Then - pull and stretch the stitches from side to side and top to bottom. A little yarn from the neighboring stitches will move over into that tight column. I suspect this will work great. But! If it does not, you can rip down to that spot and knit back up.
Thank you for the very clear instructions. ❤️
Thanks for watching!
The lighting and contrast were perfect in this video.
Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated.
seriously literally just taken up knitting again ( a very basic knitter ) and this is the most helpful video ever !!! thank you
