I think they do this to keep the tempo going during breaks. If they just sat in silence for two minutes, getting back into the groove of the broadcast would be more difficult at first. By constantly doing something mentally and vocally stimulating during that time, they will more likely act consistent during broadcasts. The choreographed routine is similar to the choreographed broadcast. Very positive way to maintain emotional control on live television.
This is cool. I can imagine how they built up the sequence over many evenings, with the handshake getting more and more intricate. It's getting a bit shaky at the end, since that's obviously the least repeated part, but they seem to recover and make it all the way to the end. Nice job!
Lmao! Of course I read this right as she says gosh I always get that wrong! 😃 But my God that's a super long routine with just that one small mistake! Super impressed!
I Love Chicago, But the first 15 minutes they reported today: A drive by shooting of a 14 yr old, 2 others shot just a couple miles apart on the west side, body parts of a child(ren)? being scooped out of a Garfield Park lagoon. and more... (Update: the total blood at the end of the weekend was 5 killed, 31 wounded) Do that shit for 10 - 20 years and you do gotta do stuff like this just to stay somewhat sane. I commend these 2 genuinely nice people.
Cute. Why are people such downers for something so light-hearted? I don't think they do it to entertain anyone else, but themselves. It's quirky and cute. The moral of the story is don't take life too seriously and don't worry about the public. People are so jaded.
@DOO1 You are right. Even I found this impossible to remember the longest ever sequence of so many movements in a single stretch with no cuts and tricks. The world is full of surprises.
Honestly, it doesn't matter if this was staged or not. The fact that they decided that it would be a good idea to do is awesome enough in and of itself.
Well, he's quite obviously a nerd so no surprises with him, but I am so proud of her for not only going along with this, but embracing it so fully. I'd like to think that all news anchors do this is in the ad breaks!
Good to see people enjoying their work - and so professional. If work isn't fun, you need to do something different, or make it fun! Looks like these two have got it sussed.
yo dude ii almost shit myself watching this, that was actually very amazing to be honest they should challenge other stations to do this within the time
I’d love to know how this started. Whether it began as something small that snowballed as time went on or if they set out to do something so elaborate.
The man on the left is now retired from WGN, Robert Jordan has worked many years and Robert and Jackie have been doing their commerical break dance for many years as well

***** lo is fucking l?! omg that means that l is cheating on rof! rof and l's son, mao, is going to be heartbroken too...
nnmartin94 That's one of the most immature things I've ever read.
shellturtleguy d'aww a simple joke is immature?! tell me more of your opinions!
nnmartin94 Yup, you're 12 years old. I'm done here.
Yes
This is the ultimate secret handshake...
Finally, a viral video of news anchors that doesn't involve anything obscene and won't cost them their job.
I love how they can do all that and tell us news properly after that
That's the point ...to keep them focused and consistent
Any movement to get the blood flowing to the brain is good

WGN, my hometown station!!! BRAVO guys, well done!!
Love WGN
LOL he gets serious when he says "several hundred people attended a rally today..."
2:44 "Two planes have crashed into the World Trade Center..."
"Several hundred people attended a rally today..."
Yea, you are way off...
^Do you guys not realize it was a joke lol
I was SO almost wishing for a total transition into "Thousands of people lost their lives today in a freak accident..."
@@Infradead little boys want to play evil ah
Wow, how long did it take for them to get this routine this long and well practiced?
Lmao! Of course I read this right as she says gosh I always get that wrong! 😃 But my God that's a super long routine with just that one small mistake! Super impressed!
It was easy, they were using a teleprompter.
I love how she says "I always get that wrong". Makes me think they do that every commercial.
They do...
I loved this. It shows that they are human.
This always makes me so happy every time I see it! I can't understand how they remembered all of that! So neat and a great job.
These two should pilot a Jaeger. I'm pretty sure they are drift compatible.
LMAO. The "several hundred people attended a rally today" at the end was fucking perfect.
That was brilliant! Even after all those years of doing it I don't know how they remember it all!
Makes me smile every time.
How the fuck did they even remember all that stuff..???
Hillarious..
Awesome idea to keep the rhythm going during a commercial break!!!
Yahoo brought me here. To a video made over five years ago.
Me too. Yahoo is such fail. But then again so are we for being trolled by them on a daily basis. Be grateful they actually included a video.
Glad I'm not the only one that has been yahoo fucked.
facebook/DL Hugley brought me here 6 years later.
RUclips brought me here, a video made over 10 years ago.
This is cute and hilarious and awesome :)
Wonderful and fun--more should find lighthearted silliness in their work.
I Like Them! They look like best friends :)
I was waiting for him to say "Two men were shot and killed today" after but it turned out to be a rally.
This was incredible! What a great duo and so sweet when he kissed her hand. You can tell they’re a great team.
most awesome thing I've seen on the internet today!! although i did see a live moth pulled out of a mans ear earlier....

This made me smile. It;s great to see co-workers that are friends as well. Awesome video :)

Listen kids. This is what adults do when they go to work.
It is really nice to see them enjoy work like this.
Most productive unproductive two minutes ever.
I laughed at that..lol
haha,,, when they eat the chip on each others shoulders
There's something beautiful about this. So unmistakably, wonderfully human.
Best colleagues ever :)..
Finally someone who's not mean! I think they're adorable.
I forced myself not to read those mean comments. If somebody can´t see how this video is great, it's just their own reflection ;).
i can see the production team getting tired of their shit
this is way better than the handshakes i had in elementary school
This is very awkward to watch
"Hey, let's try and make a viral video!"
That was dope y'all. I'd love to see part 2
this might be funny, if i was 6 years old.
It's not meant to be funny.
ahahahaha this is awesome! thanks ADAM!! :D
Love growing up here❤Chicago will always be home and WGN my favorite news station (but I’m finally getting use to Tampa Bay News 9 now)
I love that there are people like this in the world.
Camaraderie and I love it. Come to Atlanta!
@DOO1

this is sooo cute!!!
love it how theyre so serious once the camera rolls
This is what my voice (I'm the voice of WGN News) does to anchor talent! Jackie and Bob, you guys are the best!
Lol, this cheered me up so much. I wish my work colleagues were this fun
🤣🤣🤣 they make me so happy!!
They must be having so much fun
Funny as hell! I am pleased that some people in this world still know how to have fun. Just plain fun.
I come back to this video every so often to remind myself that indeed, age is just a number...
That's some good stuff right there. Glad to see some people enjoy their job :).
did anyone else find the contrast between serious to completely goofy and then right back to serious hilarious?
Well, he's quite obviously a nerd so no surprises with him, but I am so proud of her for not only going along with this, but embracing it so fully. I'd like to think that all news anchors do this is in the ad breaks!
Amazing. This took a while to work out. Looks like they really enjoy each other,
i am hypnotized by their cute dances
Omg this was so sweet to watch!
Ok, these guys are awesome! Thanks!
Thank you, Adam Savage, for showing me this.
AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
This was just hilariously amazing!
These guys are the coolest.
idk what I just watched but it was funny!!
how long have they been working on that...so cool 😎
Holy crap this video is old. But man! This is great and I never expected this to happen but now I know!
Shuffling the papers is a classic move reporters use. It steers attention away from awkwardness, and it gives a sophisticated aura.
very hilarious! even more funny because after doing those silly moves, he could manage to read the news properly. hahaha!
This is Chicago's very own WGN news with Jackie Bange, Bob Jordan, Jim Ramsey and Dan Roan this is Chicago's very own wgn news at 9
Absolutely HILARIOUS!! Wondering how long it took to memorize it?
Good to see people enjoying their work - and so professional. If work isn't fun, you need to do something different, or make it fun! Looks like these two have got it sussed.
Lovin it...made my night!!!
Damn, that's hilarious; they must have seriously worked on that routine; loved it.
You just cant beat that Friendship.
Next time I wanna see a two minute musical! :)
yo dude ii almost shit myself watching this, that was actually very amazing to be honest they should challenge other stations to do this within the time
I’d love to know how this started. Whether it began as something small that snowballed as time went on or if they set out to do something so elaborate.
Must be good for the stress. Good team work!
Amazing news team.
I loved this.... I always loved the WGN news team. HEE HEE.
I think this is freaking awesome :
)
Ace!! Totally in Sync 🦋🦋
this is amazing! now i like news anchors! :D
The man on the left is now retired from WGN, Robert Jordan has worked many years and Robert and Jackie have been doing their commerical break dance for many years as well
This has to be the awesomest thing in the universe.
hahaha, too cute. They should open the show with that.
I love.. Everything about these two.
These are the greatest news anchors in the history of television news.
Heh, awesome. I'd do it too if I was a new anchor. Great way to keep morale during a stressful broadcast it, it looks.
My two new favourite people ever!
Proves that everyone's a kid at heart.
When they came back on the air, I was totally expecting him to go all serious and say "several hundred people died today..."
Thank you Adam Savage for sending me here. That was perfect.
This is better than CNN, and deserves an Emmy!
I love like they are all happy dancing and then when they have to start again they are all serious and then the video just cuts off LOL
They love their jobs! Awesome!!
They are so adorable.
I'd actually watch TV news if all broadcasts were this entertaining.
This gets funnier and funnier as it goes on. I guess you've got to keep sane somehow.
this is freaking awesome!
