When I rescued my two German Shepherd's and helped deliver four from my female german shepherd my male gsd was right there with her supporting her. I play this song to my fur babies I love them all amd still in contact with the owners of them now and still get to see them. We did keep three. What I love about Kelly is, that she can take on a Whitney/Mariah/Celine style ballad and doesn't make it about her vocal acrobatics. And that girl can do all the high belting, switching from clean to distorted and melisma you'll ever need. She always sings it like she means it.

Personally, I think it’s hard to compare Kelly to Whitney/Mariah/Céline. This is because Kelly comes from a different generation of singers than the other 3. Music trends change over time, and what was popular with ballads in 2003 was very different than what was popular in 1993.
I personally like both the more bombastic style of ballad from the ‘80s and ‘90s, and the more subtle style from the 2000s and 2010s.
Kelly definitely has the kind of voice that could easily take on a song like Whitney’s “Run to You” or Mariah’s “Hero,” but her singing style is very much a product of its time. However, I’m also not an expert on Kelly’s vocal range, so maybe she wouldn’t be able to hit some of the higher notes “Run to You” is famous for.
Idk. I just personally like both styles of ballad and don’t see the point in comparing legends and masters of their craft.
She’s a voice for sobriety too. Kelly is the greatest. Love her

When I graduated High School I was filled with elation. It made me rejoice and I can’t believe I waited all my life to get to this moment. I faced a lot as a child and to have moved on to better things it made me so happy. When I graduate college in 4 years I’m going to be so happy!!!! This feeling is coming back again!!!

This albums so criminally underrated
I worked at Sam Goody at the time and it all has to do with when it was released. After she won and her 2 songs from American Idol were extremely popular, people came in and she ended up having a ton a reservations. Def one of the most reservations. Unfortunately, she started working on the movie, From Justin To Kelly, which delayed the album. I think it ended up being released like a whole year later. By that time the hype had died down and she released "Ms Independent". Great song, but not as powerful as this song and I can def tell you that at least half of the reservations weren't picked up. Had the album been released on time it would've been huge.

So glad she went to support her friend at the auditions for she wasn't planning on auditioning, I heard. They handed her a number and went for it... And now still going strong! Haven't heard a bad song from her and her covers are wonderful!
Actually that’s not the story. She had just came back home from LA trying to make it when her friend told her about the audition. Kelly was hesitant at first since she just came from LA but her friend encouraged her to try out. So Kelly told her if she won she would buy her her dream car. Regardless good thing she tried out because I don’t think Idol would have lasted long without her, and music wouldn’t be the same without her. 🙂
