EXPLORING abandoned tracks of a Cornish Mine

  • Join us as we walked through this mine located in Cornwall where old mine workings meet some new mine workings. on the way we discover some interesting finds, this mine was worked between the early 1800s to the late 1900s has yet more workings to be seen, one to head back to.

    This is the dodgy area through the infamous Mt Wellington fault, and looks much more messy than when I was last in there 2 years ago

      @@bikechainmic it’s moving all the time and has been recent rock fall prior to this.

    Your right there used to be a metal plate on top If that shaft no more than two bolts some years back. Great little mine not far from me. Ground is a little dodgy. Great video

      I wasn’t sure but made sense that i would be a way of carrying water out of the mine before the use of pumping to surface.

      Decent gas detector as well. 2 year life so good investment

      100s of them

      Too expensive and technically difficult to seal off, plus you dont want to trap large pockets of radon gas

    How do you retrace your route?

      Go out the way we went in. Just remember your turns. Some go to a dead end. Some times you might feel a small air flow.
      Most of the time it’s just remembering the way you went.
