The action is definitely the highlight of this film. The story isn't genre defining by any means but it didn't really need to be. It knew it was and it delievered, while also being surprisingly entertaining.
I found this film so fucking hilarious, I watched it with my friends in the cinema and the screen was empty because the tickets were expensive, so we just pointed out eye brow raises, and scenes that the Rock looked out of place in. Yeah, and imo I think that's a lot to do with the fact that the movie doesn't take itself too seriously, the writers didn't treat us the audience like we're stupid they gave us the exposition we needed and then added new information when it was needed, they didn't try to come up with some contrived explanation for why everything was going on it was very much like an everyday sort of thing, people are treated like people rather than facsimiles of people.
I thought the smasher hero kid was significantly "cringe". Jumping out of the plane "hey, is it higher up than before?" and gets pushed out, when he says to Adam "Hey, be careful! I almost hit you!" then hits Hawkman with a hand gesture on accident, and when they're trying to get the locals on their side and he accidentally knocks over an ancient statue, and is like "Was that expensive?", and several other times. Agree 100% with the kid superpower thing. It's also not smart marketing. Yeah kids will wanna watch that, but adults won't. And those adults will stop watching, and the kids will have to drag their parents (who also lost interest) to go see it.
I disagree. If they made superhero films like the comics, it'll either be too graphic or it'll go over the kids' head. Making it for children caused the kid to whine and cry until the parents cave and take them. The toys make them so much more money than the film itself.
Ah yes, Black Adam. The lesser known descendant of the Blackadder family who decided to change his name to distance himself from his family's sordid history.
Watched it today and it was bloody fun. You know what you are getting with the writing already so there's nothing shocking here. Action was the part they had to deliver and they did it 100%.
The movie was enjoyable for the most part for me. It did what it was supposed to do for an origin story of Black Adam well. Dr Fate was really cool in this and I hope he makes a return in the future.
It had the typical comic book movie stuff you'd expect but I kind of liked it. Maybe that's because I took a break from these movies after Endgame. Rock did better than I thought he would. I liked the twist to the end fight too. Also Doctor Fate ❤️ I was excited to see him finally in one
As far as that whole bit with all the regular people fighting off the demonic hoards, I honestly would have been OK with it if it was JUST the fat guy. I love the idea of him charging in and soloing those monsters because he knows they can't kill him without electricity. Great way to take advantage of his fate.

I mean the scene where Dwayne got up and said ''It's Black Adaming time'' did bring a tear to my eye
Finally, the greatest movie/series review program of all time.
I'm glad they made good use of Pierce Brosnan, Dr.Fate is easily the best thing to come outta this.
Even in the trailers people mostly just cared about him.
Dr. Fate had some pretty good showcase of his powers especially since magic is not yet really explored yet in the DCEU.
ngl bro today you saved my mood and day thanks for your daily content :)
It was a groundbreaking moment in cinematic history when Dwayne the rock Johnson said “I am the Black Adam”
When the Rock said “It’s Adaming time” and everyone turned into Black Adam that was crazy

Dude, stop. The meme's dead.

I did enjoy this a lot more than I anticipated
I especially loved how Black Adam spent more than half the movie floating around 😂
This movie was definitely a movie

Black Adam was exactly what everyone thought it should be. Big, dumb fun w/ little any the way of anything else.
It really should be. Just an edgy Shazam lol, but I'm not complaining. Both movies are good for me.
When Black Adam said “it’s Adam time!” I felt that
One of the best scenes in Black Adam is when he threw one of the soldiers at a rocket to block it
The scene where he drives with all his power and took what's ours had me gripping the edge of my seat
"Murder isn't morally questionable"

as an action fanatic i left the black adam with the biggest smile ever, i absolutely loved it

Always great to see Jeremy Hudson playing the lead role.
It's really smart taking away the edit of the score you give.
I loved it when Black Adam aka Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson said “it’s about drive, it’s about power time”. Truly one of the films of all time.
@Patrick39 its about drive it’s about power

I'm guessing ur bashing on the movie right
Agree 100% with the kid superpower thing.
@@rpsyco Adults are a large percentage of the toy consumption in this case.
I didn't even realize this was a Black Adam solo movie and not a Shazam movie until watching this.

Went and saw it last night and genuinely couldn't tell when the movie started. The entire thing felt like a super long trailer lol
I loved when Black the rock Adam said “can you SMELL what the Adam is cooking?”
Love the part when the rock gets up on the dinner table to squeeze out a loaf in slow motion
Every moment with dr.fate was awesome they chose the perfect actor for him
can't go wrong with James Bond
There's more slow motion in this movie than the entire Max Payne Franchise combined.
My favorite part was when Black Adam looked directly into the camera and said “It’s Blackadamin’ time”
It had the typical comic book movie stuff you'd expect but I kind of liked it. Maybe that's because I took a break from these movies after Endgame. Rock did better than I thought he would. I liked the twist to the end fight too. Also Doctor Fate ❤️ I was excited to see him finally in one
Charlie’s really about that action, hope he got the action he wanted
Shazam Black would have been a better Tittle.
"Can you smell what Shazam is cooking"
Cause he can fry people
I love the fact that the epic army of demon got defeated by a random stick found on the ground
saw the movie yesterday, so much action and I did quite like it because of how much action there was, you are right abt the pretty basic story tho

As far as that whole bit with all the regular people fighting off the demonic hoards, I honestly would have been OK with it if it was JUST the fat guy. I love the idea of him charging in and soloing those monsters because he knows they can't kill him without electricity. Great way to take advantage of his fate.
The part that was cringe was the little kid going to people fleeing from a fire demon and going "Hey everyone, we spent our whole lives being conquered lets take our city back" and then people actually following him.
@@varedna
Yeah. That and actually beating a warrior from hell with his skateboard. All that plot armor must be why his mom keeps putting him in life threatening situations despite constantly ranting about how much he matters to her.
My favorite part is when Dwayne Johnson destroys the bad guy and says "You're welcome" and hands out coconuts
The fact that I used this review to get 5 of my friends to come to the film with me.... NICE. Thanks
Charlie definitely smelled what the rock was cooking
The post credit scene was wild
Nope whole movie was bad

I really like the 300 vibe the slow mo scenes gave
as soon as credits roll i check my phone to see if theres a post scene and unless it sounds really dope i just leave lol
Wish they'd used more slow motion in this film tbh
They would probably need to bring in Zach Snyder for that.
