Who is Image Comics' Chapel? Savage "Captain America" meets "The Punisher"

- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Image Comics character "Chapel." From Bruce Stinson being a special-operations soldier in "Operation Knightstrike" with Al Simmons / Spawn, having a tough upbringing and taking out these frustrations on the battlefield and in his personal relationships, becoming an expert at many forms of armed and unarmed combat, gaining superhuman strength and other superpowers as a result of what amounts to various super-soldier serums, being ordered by the treacherous Jason Wynn to take out Simmons who then became a powerful Hellspawn, joining the ranks of the popular Youngblood team, having his skull face paint replaced by the real thing when Spawn hunts him down and removes his actual face, trying to become a powerful Hellspawn by ending his own life, instead becoming a horseman of apocalypse named Lord Chapel, to being seperated from this evil being and battling against him with the help of Spawn; Let's take a look at this conflicted Image Comics anti-hero, and savage super-soldier of the Youngblood team. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic books and science fiction characters.

Chapel is one of Rob Liefeld's best characters(it's a low bar but he is).
Image Comics could have done a lot more with him but Liefeld actually lost the rights to Youngblood and and Chapel.
One of my favorites. Him and Deathblow both gave that Punisher vibe. Would have been great to see those team up just to wreak havoc

At the stage Spawn burned his face off he had realized that his power was limited and damnation awaited. But he spent some of his power to burn Chapel's face into a skull, even snickering in the next issue "Even makeup won't stick to it...!" He did it to deprive Chapel of his promiscuity, which he continued even knowing he was infected, so I guess "Superhero" points for Spawn. Good writing though because he was fighting each and every step but the desire for revenge got him to use his power.

Yeah,it bothers me that two characters from Image Comics who are black(Chapel and Shadowhawk)had HIV.It wasn't a pattern I liked.

Rashid Clark ,It would be nice to see it ,but he's not the creator of Chapel ,it's Rob liefeld and both Todd and Rob had a falling out in the earlies so I doubt that movie is possible.
@@markmolino6091 Also,Rob lost the rights to Youngblood(and Chapel,too since Chapel is a part of Youngblood).
Liefeld really managed to screw up what he had.
He left Marvel Comics BECAUSE of issues with creator's rights and ownership and then he goes on to co-found Image and STILL loses the rights to his characters!
Liefeld is a big inspiration for me to want to work in the comic book industry.I figure if he can do it,so can I.
Chapel should be at least a 9 for killing Al Simmons. Add in all of the crossovers he had with other image titles where he is a main character (lord chapel) you could argue hes a 10.
I knew Robb and Todd were starting their own company. I missed there launch however by landing muy 18 tart old stood in hot water and of to prison i went. I got out 2 months before i turned 21 and on my way to the Reno bus station comm Danville CA we stored at a store and i found what would be my first image comic. It was the issue of spawn were he grand Chappell from the compound and burns his face off before the Youngblood team can get to him at the end. I was hooked. I miss those days. Now all i find from them are the fairytale runs. For the most party
