Their reactions are so artificial and generally over the top that words they use to describe the food seem to lose all meaning. Also, there are other ways to express your feelings besides adding "SSOOOO" every two seconds.

Honestly watching these videos is like watching my middle aged, candy crush playing mom eat food with another middle aged soccer mom after a divorce to prove they don't need no man, also overusing the word "so" and using too much hyperbole, it loses its meaning after being used too much
Why does she put an adjective between every word??! "The bread is soft and it's buttery and wonderful and soft and it just compliments the cheese which is salty...." And on and on
havent watched the video yet but the past two she wasnt descriptive at all and would just be like "this tastes so good" "this is the best ___ i've ever had" which was annoying because imo when i watch a tasting video i want to know what it tastes like. so this is probably responding to that kind of feedback but it sounds really awkward
I've watched a lot of Food Network, and *apparently* it's to get them to use descriptive words that aren't overused ones like "delicious" or "yummy" or "flavorful". I think it's a load of baloney, though lol
with other hosts it's actually great. its a visual medium and food is somewhat visuals but mostly scent, texture, and taste. the people in the video should be able to describe it well so you get a sense of the experience they're having. otherwise what's the point? it works on worth it, emmymadeinjapan, etc. this host is just very awkward and unnatural and whether she describes the food or just says "this is the best ___ i've ever had" doesnt really make a difference because of how forced it is
Lemme correct you they'd say "The breas is SO soft and its SO buttery and SO buttery and SO wonderful and SO soft and it just SO compliments the cheese which is salty"

Judging from the series where Alix and Rie were making food based off of a child's imaginations, I think not. Alix wasn't a good sport and she wouldn't be a good host in my opinion.
Good idea for a series, bad host for the series she isn’t natural and it feels so scripted. I’d suggest getting a different host who is more natural in front of a camera because the current host can’t pull it off.
Thank goodness I came to the comment section before I pressed play. Thanks everyone, for saving 13minutes of my life that I clearly would have wasted lmao
Aside from Beechers I have never heard of any of these restaurants. Actually famous places like the 5 Point aren't bougie enough for these videos... Maybe Sky City at the needle, but that was closed down last year, and the food was shit anyways

This show is weirdly structured. I think you guys need to re think the concept and have a clear idea of what you want. Maybe something like vegan restaurants around America series or top 5 rated restaurants in each state or something interesting that has a concept like worth it we all know what they’re doing every time one dish three price points

Me, a local Seattlelite, have never eaten at these places. This video was more of a “Famous places to eat in Seattle” rather than “eat like a local”. If you are in pike place though I recommend La Panier, their macaroons are so good and they have pretty good sandwiches as well.
A heads up for anyone watching who wants to try that macaroni & cheese-the recipe is on Beecher’s website as well as other websites online. Just search “Beecher’s World’s Best Mac n Cheese recipe”. I would say to use Beecher’s cheddar at the least because it is a particularly good cheese for that recipe, but if it’s not available a good aged white cheddar will still work. Just Jack is a nice creamy jack cheese, which can probably be replaced somewhat easily. Add a healthy amount of the chili powder because it really does make a difference and don’t worry about buttering the pan if you use a milk/cream with a higher fat content. :) also you can up the amount of pasta, it makes a LOT of sauce for the amount of pasta they tell you to use. Believe me-I like my mac extra creamy but adding some extra pasta works perfectly.
