      Do you reload on a turret press?
      If you need to reload more than 400 rounds at a time I would stick with a turret press.
      Progressive presses is like buying a corvette to commute to work.
      My first press is a dillon XL750 and it's great but I never load more than 100 rounds at a time so I think I should've bought a turret press. Also I reload 8 calibers and each caliber conversion kit cost $115 plus shipping

    I have a Mark 7 Revolution set up for 9mm. My biggest issue was getting the Mr. Bullet feeder pro to work correctly. Once I modified it it works great. I love my Mark 7. Expensive, but then what isn't these days.

    • @bradmohr7398
      @bradmohr7398 4 года назад +2

      @@dahut3614 The problem was the Mr. Bullet Feeder Pro is steel and has a different funnel angle that created a lip that the bullets would hang up on. I had to ream out top section to increase the angle and eliminate the lip. Once I did that it works like it was supposed to. The only other mod I made was to change out the powder hopper for a glass one as the filter at the top of the one Mark 7 supplies makes it hard to empty the hopper when finished loading or you want to change powders.

    This off topic, but is in response to a comment you made about "Price Gouging", especially by Cheaper than Dirt. I bought some 10mm ammo today for $24.99 for 50 rounds online, 6 boxes, which is about MSRP but the exact same stuff in Cheaper than Dirt was $50! Stay away from them.

    Gavin: In my Dillon experience of setting up the XL650 platforms, and now the RL1100, it has been recommended and I have verified that to produce acceptable measurements of Cartridge Overall Lengths, one needs to have all Stations being used loaded with brass/components to stabilize the shellplate. In your experiences, does the Mark 7 benefit from this same procedure? Thank you!

    I just looked up on the Dillon site. I didn't know there was a new XL 750 model.. I wonder if they do trade ins?

    Unclear on powder measure. Going from 9mm to 223 do you need to get the funnel die kit? I accidently bought a second rifle measure. Cant find anything on converting my 223 powder measure to 9mm. 9mm case opening is obviously smaller, do you need to change funnels due to cases concaving inward? Thanks

    Wow. Glad I saw this before getting a Mark 7. What a ridiculously complex process from what I’m accustomed to on my Redding T-7. I know they’re different animals, but come on....
    I’d have to purchase at least 3 Evolutions given the time it takes to switch between the major rounds I shoot. It currently takes me less than 1 minute, with no chance of adjustment issues. I currently swap heads at least 3 times per week on the Redding.

  • @ryanw7673

  • @Painterrap
    @Painterrap 3 года назад

    So you can’t use that bullet feeder for .223/556? I figured you could swap some kind of internal plate and it would feed an alternative bullet size. I mean you have to buy a second one for rifle and that’s another cost.

    The way you have the press set up is nice for new cases, however I normally use once fired brass and therefore I lube and full length resize for .223. To do this on this press do you see anything that would prevent one from using an RCBS lube die at station 2 to lube and decap, then full length resize on station 3?

    I'm sure other people have reasons to use this press (or a Dillon), but my not diagnosed OCD cannot deal with it, just the powder dropping alone and the lack of accuracy in weight phases me out. Obviously, each crank of the lever does a lot, but the set up is crazy long and even longer if you don't have the extra bits and pieces. I use a single stage Mark press and with the lock-n-load on all my dies, switching calibers is a breeze. I wonder the number of rounds to break even on time alone.

    Well fellow reloaders. We gave the Mark 7 Press and all of its bells and whistles nearly a year. What a fiasco that press turned out to be. Poor machine quality, customer service and parts availability. Could write a book on all of the issues. So back to our good old Red LEE presses and equipment and dust off our Dillon 750XL and the Venerable Dillon 1100. Still waiting on powder, primers and bullets to arrive by mid December from back East. Picked up some new 10 round, 50 round and 100 round SAAMI QC Blocks. Plenty of die sets for all.. Spare parts But, etc. But plenty of components to finish fine tuning and begin to punch ammo out. So stay tuned for a new batch of reloading videos and pictures in 2022. Happy Holidays Jake the Jackalope 112721

    Wow! There is waaay too much involved for a simple caliber change. I would think a press this expensive and sophisticated would be engineered to make caliber changes simpler. Also, would it be possible for you to clear out some of the equipment sitting behind you. It's very difficult to clearly see whatever you're working on if it's being filmed looking straight on because of all the equipment which is distracting and makes it difficult to focus on the subject.
