Thanks so much, but I assure you that Dillon doesn't have a clue who I am. As I've said elsewhere, I have zero connection to any of the companies whose products I feature. If you enjoyed this, you might also enjoy the review of the Forester Co-Ax press, along with a follow-up video on same. ruclips.net/video/NEzVZe7f6G0/видео.html Actually, I have to amend that. I did a recent video featuring the Ransom Pistol Rest and the folks at Ransom saw the video and had some nice things to say including that they wanted to show it on their web site. Of course I was happy about that, but that's the only contact I've had with a product maker from one of my videos.
You are a natural instructor sir, First Class demo, Dillon should be paying you a lot for such an instructive demo. also you have a very pleasant voice. Thank you.
I love reloading. Machinery and cottage industry manufacturing is so awesome. I want one of these presses so damn bad. I wonder if they make one for 6.5 Creedmoor. I wouldn't die without it, because 6.5 is for my bolt gun and I'm not blowing through 6.5 constantly, but it'd be nice to have a neverending supply of 6.5 so I can help people get into the caliber.
"I've wanted one of these for like 30 years" ...... yup, I know how that feels. On the bullet feeder "some people are just smarter" LOL One of the most well done vids on all of RUclips.
Heck knows good for you man .... 30 years ! You are a patient guy ... the sound is really nice ... I didn’t know you could really make your own bullets
That was probably the best, concise and clear demo video I've seen. And I have looked at a lot. Thank you. Been reloading for 34 yrs and have seen a bunch useless stuff. This was great.
you sir are a happy and lucky man to have such awesome toys. i hope someday with a little hard work and saving can be like you and have the things i want. as of now i do all my reloading with a single stage press. i enjoy it but i cant wait to have a set up like that.
When you buy your progressive press, you'll discover that it's more than a reloading machine ... it's a time machine. Here in California, the Democrats have regulated ammo sales, so the only way to keep your freedom is to reload.
Thanks for the video Rex! I found a used Super 1050 at our Lions Club Gun Show today and snatched it up for $1500.00. It was all set up for 223 with the dies - very happy with it.
This is, by far, the best reloading video I've yet to see. You explained it thoroughly in an easygoing manner. Thanks so much for posting it. The Dillon 1050 is on my near term list. Like you, I don't shoot enough to really need it, but it's such a good press I just don't see the sense in getting any other. Many thanks.
Thanks so much. It's truly a great reloading system, much more than just a press. Yes, it is expensive, but you do get your money's worth. You can easily spend more on a good rifle and scope.
Rex, just like the Forrester co-ax, this should be a part one. I have never seen a more thorough look at such a high end machine. Plus, whatever cameras you have are the most high-quality, the detail is amazing!
Thanks. There are a lot of "hidden" details about the 1050 that I think folks would enjoy seeing, so a "Part Two" is entirely possible. For the most part, I use a Canon C100 camera and I'm very happy with it.
Thank you very much. I was a TV news anchor in the 70's, was a partner in an ad agency and operated an industrial film production company. In the 80's I switched careers and became a design engineer. Our company manufactured drilling rigs. I was there for 35 years and then retired.
Fascinating. I knew there was something special about you. I would liked to have watched you as a news anchor. You sure do capture an audience! God bless sir...I'm going to see what other videos you made!
Very interesting about the Super 1050. I own an XL650 which is much like the 1050, except I don’t have the bullet-feeder or your $379 primer-filling machine. We’ve loaded tens of thousands of pistol rounds from 9mm to .44 mag and love this machine, so we understand your passion for the 1050. Enjoyed your video!
This is exactly what I was looking for -what does the machine do each step, what are the failsafes, and what accessories make sense. Most of Dillon’s videos show set up, and I wanted to see function. So thank you!
Wow that is the ultimate press station 😉 I have a single stage press but I enjoy reloading in my spare time even though my system is a far cry from that Dillon piece of art, thanks for sharing.
Nail on the head, Rick. I regularly watch Adam Booth (ABOM79) on RUclips in his machine shop. He often uses a shaper, a very old machine rarely seen these days. He gets criticized for using it rather than more modern vertical or horizontal mills. He answers this by saying, "I love this machine. It brings me pleasure to operate it and see it run. I enjoy everything about it. I'm doing this for my pleasure and not to make money or save time. It's what I like, so get over it." It's all about the journey.
I have to say that’s one of the more thorough vids I’ve ever seen, explaining in *awesome* detail, the workings of this press... VERY informative and helpful, I have this machine coming to me, and I really enjoyed how you explained individually what all the stations did, in addition to showing examples with AND w/out the casings to show the reaction of the press. Thanks so much for it! Great video....
Thank you, Emerson. You will enjoy it. Work it a lot without primers, powder or cases to get a feel for the sounds and the physical responses from the machine as it cycles.
I've done radio (for golf) and worked with many instructors, book authors, etc..... you sir are a natural instructor for reloading. By far the best video for reloading I've seen and maybe the best I've seen for instruction & demo period. Thanks!!!
Rex you’re a lucky man, been working a Dillon Square deal for 30 years and finally figured out how to make a case feeder for it. I made a video of that on my channel but what you got is the cream of the crop, enjoy your loading I'm jealous
My pleasure. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Best of luck with your 1050. You might want to watch the video where I added power from a pneumatic cylinder. I'm working to refine that process and go into detail.
As a person who helps others every day as part of my job, I can appreciate the way you explain things in every day language that anyone can easily understand. Appreciate the time you took to make this video and the quality of the camera. This was a job well done.
Thank you for have great clear audio and proper lighting. So many do not do this. Great close ups too. I think you must have some TV production in your background. Excellent video. Thank you.
Incredible video, by far the best, most informative reloading video I've ever seen. Dillon should really offer you something nice because you just helped me make up my mind to buy this setup. Thank you
You, good sir, are fantastic at explaining the intricacies of this machine. I concur with all those that have said you should be a spokesman of sorts for Dillon. Great voice, perfect delivery, and exceptional camera angles. I have watched many reloading videos, have been reloading for about 5 years (Lee Loaders, Dillon 550, RCBS single stage) and have friends that have multiple machines as well. I learned more about the inner workings by watching this video than I ever have in any of those experiences. Liked and subscribed, appreciate your time and effort.
I, like you got lucky. I’ve been reloading a few years and have always wanted a Dillon. A good friend of mine has one but no time. He just up and gave me his 550. I love it. Btw Dillon customer service is out of this world. Thanks for the video!
Good for you. This next comment is strictly anecdotal. The friend I bought my 1050 from also has a couple of 550s and he swears they make the most accurate ammo of all the Dillon presses. At the very least, the 550 doesn't give up anything in terms of quality, just features.
Thanks. Take a look at these: ruclips.net/video/oZVEh80bGXE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/T7ZhuNH7hrA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/EkOXb08DC1s/видео.html ruclips.net/video/slKyDXmWVGM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/MdI2_n05c7I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/ClhS2C-wpQk/видео.html

Just added a 1050 to my collection. Same here it was a bucket list, right deal thing. Deal came along with 1050, extra cases, powder, bullets at half price, so I jumped in. Just setting up my new bullet feeder so found this video. Very well done, thanks.
Best video EVER explaining the Dillon reloading process. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning. I cant thank you enough. Btw, I need that primer loader!!!
You are so very welcome, Jeremy. I would not have bought the primer loader if it had not been part of the package deal. HOWEVER, that is a fantastic device and I'm very happy that I have it. Highly recommended. It's one of those "expensive but worth every penny" kind of things.
My dad was an executive and had little interest in tools. Consequently, I often borrowed a screwdriver from the two old maid sisters who lived next door. That probably led to my retched excesses in tool purchasing as an adult.
Excellent review with well thought out explanation of the process along with detailed video. This is a great example of what a "how-to" video should look like.
Congratulations for your video!! From the south of the south(Argentina) I ve really enjoy your comments!! This machine is wonderfull and you have worked like a teacher
Muchas gracias mi amigo. Necesitas un Dillon para disparar mucho en las Pampas. I love to hear from folks in other countries. Thank you for your kind comment.
Just inherited one of these and found 20,000 primers and shell casings and bullets my dad had after he passed away 😞 so I must say I'm now emotionally attached to this dillion . Thanks for the awesome video 😊
NICE!! Thank you for the video! I’m fascinated with that primer machine, how cool 😎 I’m using a LnL with bullet and case feed. It sure had room for improvements. It’s constant readjustment, sometimes adding newer parts. It does ok. But it’s nothing like your Dillion!! It’s hard for me to justify another loading machine..... not that that will stop me Thank you again for the well made video you shared!
Thank you for letting me know, Jay. Very much appreciated. I hope you get into reloading and enjoy it as much as most of us do. Yes, I fully understand for many it's an onerous chore, but I enjoy the creation process for its own sake.
Rex, congratulations. The 1050 is indeed a high quality reloading tools. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps, someday the stars will align for me. All of your presentations are top shelf. I enjoy them tremendously.
Rex, that was a terrific tutorial, view, primer on the Dillon 1050! Expertly presented too. So glad I found you and your blog. One caveat...don't lie to us! I know there are lots of wonderful goodies behind that curtain! To heck with the uncluttered backdrop!
Heh heh heh. That mysterious curtain has truly been the focus of a lot of attention. Of course the shelves are plainly visible in many of my other videos. Thanks for the kind words.
Excellent Video! I had a 650 for a few years before i stopped reloading and it was great quality. Now i want a 1050! Thanks for the video. And Dillon should send you a bunch of free stuff. :)
I have watched this video many times and always enjoy it each Time! I have a Dillion 650 set up for 45 acp and just ordered a 750 to leave for 9mm. I don't shoot that much either, but I love quality equipment and the joy of reloading. Thank you for your always wonderful videos! They are always a treat! This machine is a marvel.
Wow, I sure hope dillon is cutting you in on some of their profits, because that's the best demo On a reloading press I have seen yet! Great video!

I concur that was a well thought out video - thanks
The patriot1776 agreed👍
I just told my wife one of the best videos I have seen! Great job!
You are a natural instructor sir, First Class demo, Dillon should be paying you a lot for such an instructive demo. also you have a very pleasant voice. Thank you.
Thank you very much. I appreciate your encouraging words. I would love to make some videos for Dillon, but they have yet to contact me .
I have been reloading for over 30 years. Best explanation I have seen of the reloading process and progressive reloaders. Well done!
"nothing behind the curtain." just what someone with something good behind a curtain would say!

Whoever built them primer and shell / bullet feeder/sorter’s is a true legend... like my mind is blown
"some people are just really smarter than others.." best line. Great video.
Excellent video. Many thanks for the time & effort you've invested in this!
You are a very GREAT instructor! The camera angles were first rate. Thanks for putting this up on line!
Heck knows good for you man .... 30 years ! You are a patient guy ... the sound is really nice ... I didn’t know you could really make your own bullets
Four years later and the vibration separated caps was really brilliant. Looking at getting into reloading and this machine is in the running
Wonderful equipment, I don't reload but admire the engineering that went into a piece like this.
That is the best tour of that press that I have ever seen. Good, careful, patient presentation!
Thank you very much!
That was probably the best, concise and clear demo video I've seen. And I have looked at a lot. Thank you. Been reloading for 34 yrs and have seen a bunch useless stuff. This was great.
I really appreciate what you said. Thank you.
There's no way I could fill that little primer machine and not watch it load the tube! Pretty cool how it un-jammed itself in time. Awesome setup.
Great looking machine, and you do an even better job of explaining how it works and all the moving parts. Now I need to get one! Thank you
Unbelievably nice reloading setup. Wow. I feel like I’m in the Stone Age with my single stage 45 ACP rig.
you sir are a happy and lucky man to have such awesome toys. i hope someday with a little hard work and saving can be like you and have the things i want. as of now i do all my reloading with a single stage press. i enjoy it but i cant wait to have a set up like that.

Rex, you do an awesome job of explaining and showing all the bits and pieces. Thank you!
Love the way you presented this machine, cool stories and such -- thanks for making the video!
What can I say. Great presentation! Enjoyed a lot! This is the power of engineering - those case and bullet feeders :). Thanks Rex!
Thanks for the video Rex! I found a used Super 1050 at our Lions Club Gun Show today and snatched it up for $1500.00. It was all set up for 223 with the dies - very happy with it.
I would literally just sit and watch those primers being right sided. That is one amazing machine that i will never be able to afford .... WOW
Love the way you took time to show and explain everything. Great stuff
Man i knew of reloading ammo but this machine and your review of it makes me wanna go buy one.
Very well done video, Rex. Thank you. I could listen to you tell Old West stories around a campfire all night.
Great demonstration for a great machine! Well done!
This is, by far, the best reloading video I've yet to see. You explained it thoroughly in an easygoing manner. Thanks so much for posting it. The Dillon 1050 is on my near term list. One of the best video on RUclips. You explained very clearly and concise. I love it but cost darn much! $2k I can buy lots of bullets....:(

Thanks again. I suppose I might do a little short video with some pictures of my various careers.
Very informative about that Dillion. Still pertinent today. Now I know how the 550 works. Great job.
Very interesting about the Super 1050. I own an XL650 which is much like the 1050, except I don’t have the bullet-feeder or your $379 primer-filling machine. Thanks, Bill. I have several videos featuring this machine. Maybe you'll find some answers there.
Wow that is the ultimate press station 😉 I have a single stage press but I enjoy reloading in my spare time even though my system is a far cry from that Dillon piece of art, thanks for sharing.
I'm with you. I do minimal shooting, but love the tools and process of reloading. I could do nothing but reload and be a happy camper!

What an amazing machine. and a fantastic walkthrough of all the components. Rex, thank you so much. This was practically therapeutic. 👍
Well, that "therapeutic" has to be a first for me. Thanks much, Greg.
I've done radio (for golf) and worked with many instructors, book authors, etc..... you sir are a natural instructor for reloading. By far the best video for reloading I've seen and maybe the best I've seen for instruction & demo period. Thanks!!!
Whoa! Thank you so much!
Amazing video sir. Thank you for taking the time to share all the intricate workings of this fine machine. :)

Coming from a long time LNL-AP user and now a new 1050 owner, these videos are great. Your videos have been a great help to me. Thank You!!
My pleasure. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Best of luck with your 1050. You might want to watch the video where I added power from a pneumatic cylinder. I'm working to refine that process and go into detail.
I would enjoy being your neighbor, you are a fantastic teacher. Thank you sir👌
This man had me sold on the Dillon 1050 in the first minute and a half! Great video!
Great instructional video not many people would go into the great detail that you did.
Thank You
Everything about this machine is great, would love to watch it run all day
Great video,thx. I've had a Dillon 650 for 25 years and I love it.
As a person who helps others every day as part of my job, I can appreciate the way you explain things in every day language that anyone can easily understand. Appreciate the time you took to make this video and the quality of the camera. This was a job well done.

Thank you Rex you did a phenomenal job explaining the machine.
I really found this interesting! The simple devices used to load brass, bullets and primers are intriguing fun to watch!
This video makes me want to get into this. I have a lot to review but really enjoyed your video.
Great video Rex. Congrats on your new baby. Guess I'll have to stick with my 550 for now.
Thanks, William. I doubt if any of us would turn down a 550 if it were offered. I know I wouldn't.
Incredible video, by far the best, most informative reloading video I've ever seen. Dillon should really offer you something nice because you just helped me make up my mind to buy this setup. Thank you
Thank you..
Well done..
I've inherited my dads xl 650, and am very new to this... lots to learn.
Happy loading and safe shooting!

That is so very kind of you to take the time to comment and say such nice things about my videos.
"WOW" Great Video. Love how you take your time and fully explain concept behind this press. Great!!!!
Love that you love the machine so much it's a thing of beauty you have a very good friend congratulations
I, like you got lucky. I’ve been reloading a few years and have always wanted a Dillon. A good friend of mine has one but no time. He just up and gave me his 550. I love it. Btw Dillon customer service is out of this world. Thanks for the video!

I've had my 550 for 34yrs. And still it's like a bear making my ammo.
Be nice to see a video on changing shell plates, primer sizes and any adjustments the plates and other parts may need. You make great videos.

Absolutely the best video about reloading, incredibly informative and illustrative, very easygoing, thank you sir 👍
Thank you so much!
Great job on the video; clear explanations and very good close ups of each part of the process. Thanks for the time and effort it took...well done!
Thank you so much!
You Sir, are the total consummate professional. Great presentation, exacting and direct. Thank You, and hope to see more productions like this in the future
Studio Luce Photography You get the Gold Beaver Badge for comments!
Excellent video. I've put off buying one for a long time, I think I'm ready now!
What a wonderful demonstration for someone like me who is just now researching this topic! Thank you!
Glad it helped. I always appreciate folks who share info on subjects I’m interested in.
Wow! This was an EXTREMELY useful video! Thank you Rex!
Another fantastic video Rex. Congratulations on a fine machine.
Oh, I love that "I love good tools!". I keep saying that all the time myself buying fewer but way better tools that never disappoint.
My dad was an executive and had little interest in tools. Consequently, I often borrowed a screwdriver from the two old maid sisters who lived next door. That probably led to my retched excesses in tool purchasing as an adult.
Wow , great explanation of how it works for a newbie. Also great smooth tone of voice. Keep’m coming.
Excellent review with well thought out explanation of the process along with detailed video. This is a great example of what a "how-to" video should look like.
Excellent example of how this machine works. Thank you
Congratulations for your video!!
From the south of the south(Argentina) I ve really enjoy your comments!!
This machine is wonderfull
and you have worked like a teacher
Muchas gracias mi amigo. Necesitas un Dillon para disparar mucho en las Pampas.
I love to hear from folks in other countries. Thank you for your kind comment.
One of the best descriptions of a reloader. If you dont have one make a video on how to change and set up from on caliber to another. Great job.
Oh No!
I bought a Forster Co-Ax based on the quality of your videos and now you've shown us the Dillon.
Great video.
Just inherited one of these and found 20,000 primers and shell casings and bullets my dad had after he passed away 😞 so I must say I'm now emotionally attached to this dillion . Thanks for the awesome video 😊
That's quite a treasure you've inherited. Use it well and make your dad proud.
@@RexRoach thank you I will 😊
NICE!! Thank you for the video!
I’m fascinated with that primer machine, how cool 😎
I’m using a LnL with bullet and case feed. It sure had room for improvements. It’s constant readjustment, sometimes adding newer parts.
It does ok. But it’s nothing like your Dillion!!

Thank you again for the well made video you shared!
Rex, I have been looking at reloading and thanks for all the info u provided in your video. It has been a big help.
Thank you for letting me know, Jay. Very much appreciated. I hope you get into reloading and enjoy it as much as most of us do. Yes, I fully understand for many it's an onerous chore, but I enjoy the creation process for its own sake.
Great video! Awesome close-up shots showing the mechanics of the machine.
Now I know what loader I am buying
Thank you so much!
Wow, that is one sweet machine! I'm jealous!
Rex, congratulations. The 1050 is indeed a high quality reloading tools. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps, someday the stars will align for me. All of your presentations are top shelf. I enjoy them tremendously.
I appreciate when viewers take a moment to add to the conversation.
Excellent video. Brief and concise . No filler BS
Thank you, great demonstration.
What a fantastic presentation. Nicely done.
What an amazing piece of kit.
great review...first time iv seen operation of the 1050....excellent illustration.
The bullet and case feeders are amazing!
BRAVO. That was by far the best demo i have ever seen
Thank you so very much, Frank.
Sir, thank you very much indeed, for helping me understand the complexity of this wonderful reloading machine.
Oscar
You are very welcome.
Thanks a lot for the video. Can't find a used one worth looking at but you have convinced me to look at a new one. Regards!
Best video of a Dillon i've seen so far !
Loved the video, a lot of great info. Thanks.
I can only dream! Great demonstration video. In fact the best.
Excellent Video! I had a 650 for a few years before i stopped reloading and it was great quality. Now i want a 1050! Thanks for the video. And Dillon should send you a bunch of free stuff. :)
Exceptional video, thank you very much sir! I enjoyed watching!
Thanks, Robin. I suspect you have revealed the "dirty little secret" of all progressive reloading machines: they are usually dedicated to one caliber.
Thanks Rex, that makes me feel not as guilty! Have a great new year.
